Here's my post replying to Moth
Thats an interesting article moth. Best not on the board or MRAs would be all over it!
I was wondering today, hopefully, if the news about darts getting rid of the girls means the overton window is shifting and maybe p0rn will become less acceptable?
If not all this hooha about F1 girls and the presidents club is just tinkering on the edges.

Yeh! Always good to meet another GC woman! Welcome Standing

What peaked you?

BeUpStanding · 11/02/2018 16:26

Mind if I join you? It's bloody mental out there! I've been a serious lurker on the boards for years, but #peaktrans has radicalized my feminism and driven me to my feet in rage... here seems the place to pull up a chair and take a moment to breathe / swig gin Grin

HairyBallTheorem · 11/02/2018 09:51

But if Ross Kemp were to feel feminine when he put on a dress, surely Stonewall would have to admit him under the trans umbrella...

Ereshkigal · 11/02/2018 09:18

Someone should definitely do that Sarah!

AssignedPuuurfectAtBirth · 10/02/2018 22:58

Who lonely?

Lonelystarbuckslover · 10/02/2018 22:53

I note that two gender critical writers have been hounded off Twitter by MRAs.

One of whom publicly documented her mental health issues this year...it's really shitty that people who's demands are centred around their risk of suicide targets someone who has shared mental health issues.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 10/02/2018 22:41

There is tag-team mansplaining going on elsewhere on the boards, plus a couple of handmaidens who have decided that because smear tests involve a speculum rather than fingers they can't see what the fuss is about re. wanting a female HCP to do them

Gawd. I haven't seen that one. In the thread I mention above people are saying that a 14 year old boy in the womens changerooms is 'just a child' and that since the OP can't be 100% sure he was a boy that it shows that gender isn't rigid and that we could have undressed in front of 100s of men before, etc. etc.

Yes Sarahjconnor! Brilliant idea. I listened to the Nick Robinson interview with Paris Lees - total self absorption . The rest of the world, needs / rights / laws seen solely through their own narrow experiences and wishes.

Well it's very busy round here at the moment - I can't keep up.
There's a lot of light being shed on some very unpleasant issues at the moment and it's getting quite a reaction.

Takes a moment to breathe deeply and consume Wine without choking ...

athingthateveryoneneeds · 10/02/2018 21:46

MRAs are plopping around the boards recently, it seems.

AssignedPuuurfectAtBirth · 10/02/2018 21:41

Just listened to Ben Shapiro on the Sports Illustrated thing. I don't often agree with him , but ffs, what the fuck is empowering about that shit

HairyBallTheorem · 10/02/2018 21:39

Fortunately there's a lovely BODMAS thread going on, so I can take refuge in reminiscing about my lovely old reverse Polish notation calculator. Oh how I miss it.

(Feels pleasant wave of nostalgia for old tech... Remembers she occasionally still has to program in FORTRAN. Feels less nostalgic, but more antediluvian).

HairyBallTheorem · 10/02/2018 21:31

Stiff gin please!

There is tag-team mansplaining going on elsewhere on the boards, plus a couple of handmaidens who have decided that because smear tests involve a speculum rather than fingers they can't see what the fuss is about re. wanting a female HCP to do them.

May have to go on a thread-hiding frenzy.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 10/02/2018 10:42

TallulahWaitingInTheRain · 07/02/2018 10:10

That's a really important point rowdywoman

But it's utterly disgraceful that a thread looking at things from a woman's perspective should be perceived as potentially compromising a trial while mainstream media headlines insinuating the complainant is a total slapper who went out with the intention of being raped should be all fine and dandy and not compromising at all. Fuck it makes me angry.

rowdywoman1 · 07/02/2018 09:31

Quentin
There has to be a distinction between us commenting on rape and commenting on a live court case. There is a young woman at the centre of this case and while there were lots of fab posts on that thread, there were some that were commenting on the live case. Defendants will look for any reason to cry foul - it's why the responsible online press don't allow btl comments until a court case ends.
Surely our right to comment should not trump her right to have the case heard without defendants using online comments to claim 'the jury were influenced' as a 'get out' clause.
I think MNHQ were right .

athingthateveryoneneeds · 07/02/2018 09:13

I weighed in as well. It was an educational thread.

QuentinSummers · 07/02/2018 09:10
