Here's my post replying to Moth
Thats an interesting article moth. Best not on the board or MRAs would be all over it!
I was wondering today, hopefully, if the news about darts getting rid of the girls means the overton window is shifting and maybe p0rn will become less acceptable?
If not all this hooha about F1 girls and the presidents club is just tinkering on the edges.

Hello waddle!
You will be fine with your MSP! Good on you for going. I haven't spoken to mine. I am not a fan - there is no way I would get a straight answer.

He's snp so there's no hope really...

SpringNowPlease2018 · 17/04/2018 23:05

Oh I'll be interested to know how the appointment goes

My MP doesn't want to talk about it but he's Tory and I get the impression, from MN, that they are stopping to think....!

Waddlelikeapenguin · 17/04/2018 23:00

spring you sing beautifully Grin i am tone deaf

It was male/female/other blah blah (cant remember)/none or prefer not to say on the more depressing/up side it was an appallingly written feedback survey in other ways too Grin survey monkey is sooooo easy to use & still they will generate fairly useless data Confused

I have an appointment with my msp next week & am worried i will either mumble incoherently or rant...

SpringNowPlease2018 · 17/04/2018 22:23

Waddle, the only qualifications are
a) admire my dire singing
b) admire my bottle of Bombay Sapphire

Grin

That's awful. Did they have a biological sex and gender question?

I had to fill in forms for training at work and it was "do you feel that your gender aligns with your biological sex" or something. Apart from anything else, it had as much relevance for the training as asking me "do you prefer deep house or acid house".

Waddlelikeapenguin · 17/04/2018 21:54

I dont feel qualified to be here but I need somewhere to say that I filled in feedback for the edinburgh science festival today & they asked my gender Confused the science fucking festival! They probably regret the comment box now Grin

Gin for all GinGinGin

Trousersdontmakemeaman · 17/04/2018 20:02

It's actually been a daily treat for a while now.

AssignedPuuurfectAtBirth · 17/04/2018 20:00

Passes Gin all round

It's been a hell of a day.

IW madness. Julia whatsithername has been an unexpected delight

James Kirkup - liking him lots. Might even consider a Spectator sub, I listen to the podcast but Fraser Nelson's voice - oh Lordy, it's a crime against humanity

SpringNowPlease2018 · 17/04/2018 19:28

Proof that I hang out here too much

Autocorrect just changed "there" to "theorem" Grin

AnitaLovesVictor · 13/04/2018 21:42

She sure did! (Although you wouldn't think so - the convicted assaulter is somehow also claiming victory Confused ) But you can't help the delusional.

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 13/04/2018 21:26

So Maria won the court case then? Thats good news

terryleather · 13/04/2018 19:38

Yup a glass for Maria!

Not sure if she prefers Wineor Ginbut the verdict is some positive news in the face of so much SadAngryConfused

Feeling really disillusioned with everything at the moment - I'm not very good at playing nice so I feel like I should keep off the boards but then I get Angry at the self censoring, so I shall just hang out in the pub with all you lovely women and all the lovely booze.

Cheers m'dears!

Freshlylaidterf · 13/04/2018 19:11

I'm still feeling sad they hid the board.
Women know your place

Me too. But on the plus sideWineto Maria.
Also managed to peak trans my physio today. Hes a really good man. He was shocked about all this SI stuff, had no idea. He said he will sign the petition and hopefully get others to sign too. Nearly 10000 ! Happy friday ! Wine

Ereshkigal · 13/04/2018 19:06

To Maria! Wine

AnitaLovesVictor · 13/04/2018 19:04

Yay! Cheers everyone Wine

Happy Friday. Very please for Maria MacLachlan. That must have been an awful experience - but she got a conviction.

So I'll drink a toast to Maria. Wine

Let's celebrate. It's still illegal to give gender-critical women a public smacking, ww3 hasn't started yet, and it's the weekend.

Wine
terryleather · 13/04/2018 18:59

Hi Anita first one's on me!

Yup, it absolutely is a backlash and yes it's a clever one to boot as you point out, wrapped up with a glittery pink bow...

AnitaLovesVictor · 13/04/2018 18:54

Wine Evening.

Solidarity Katara Thanks

Really feeling there's a backlash against women - but it's a clever backlash. It's only some of us. The ones who'd quite like some rights left at the end of 2018. Sigh.

terryleather · 13/04/2018 18:39

Barkeep, I need the stupid of the world to go away (even if it's just for a little while) so that'll be a double Dark&Stormy for me and what ever anyone else here is having...

AnitaLovesVictor · 13/04/2018 00:58

Hi Wine Just marking place for tomorrow. Will have a good read tomorrow - I keep seeing you and losing you again. FWR is so fast moving right now.

SpringNowPlease2018 · 13/04/2018 00:53

Agree, consent issues are a huge concern now.

Oh dear
It does feel like doom and gloom and I can't cheer it up

I've just been out with a group which included a woman I've met once or twice, friend of a friend, always thought she seemed nice.

Tonight she said to me that she thinks feminists are ridiculous and she worries that women are starting to treat men very badly and they shouldn't complain about things like a "harmless" kiss at a work party etc. I changed the subject. Ugh.

Katara · 12/04/2018 19:59

Yes, but I am reading that thread and I came across DARVO. Oh my goodness, this describes what stbxh tried to do and to some extent succeeded.

Knowledge is power, if you cannot name a behaviour, you cannot condemn or challenge it. That to me has been the most important thing and this is one more bit of the puzzle.

I have avoided all of the press about the Ulster case, there is a backlash against women, particularly when it comes to rape and sexual abuse. There are very important issues of consent being eroded.

I am on the gin tonight, I think Gin

QuentinSummers · 12/04/2018 19:52

I'm feeling crap today. Think this is what set me off
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/site_stuff/3218304-Some-topics-not-showing-up-in-searches

I feel like the backlash against women at the moment is immense and it's getting me down.

The fucking Ulster case hadn't helped either.

Best not say really.

I hate saying this on MN but I half wonder if I should come off MN. Makes it sound like an addiction, oops.

Sometimes it's great though.

How's everyone doing anyway?
