LM was voted into the Women’s Officer position.

We need to be asking those LP members why they thought LM would be a suitable candidate for the role, and why the LP allowed LM to stand.

We need to be working out how this happened and why. Who voted for LM, and why? I think they are answerable.

Good idea - I'm off to scroll down emergency kittens... Grin

AngryAttackKittens · 03/02/2018 11:05

Do you need some cute animal videos to cleanse your brain?

AreYouOrHaveYouEverBeenATERF · 03/02/2018 11:02

I hope you all know I had to scroll down Liam's timeline to get that screen shot. I feel sullied now.

I don't normally go for dead naming or misgendering trans people - but for Liam I'll make an exception. He is vile - that a women's officer should make it their business to compile shit lists and get women expelled from the party is just beyond parody.

AngryAttackKittens · 03/02/2018 10:56

"Down with 99.999% of the people in the world!"

Yeah, that'll work out well. Great plan on how to get Labour elected, that.

AreYouOrHaveYouEverBeenATERF · 03/02/2018 10:53

Here.

This is the secret FB group LM claimed to run - ie. not the Labour against transphobia hit list.

Later on, LM claimed that down with cis is just like saying down with the patriarchy.

This is an excellent comment on the LM Indy article:

"You are clearly a very young "feminist". Please try to disengage from the Trans love-in, and apply some critical thinking skills. This is where Madigan and the GRA are taking us:

Eliminating media and all public discourse specific to females - it's "triggering"

Removal of the right of journalists to report the sex, and history, of subjects

Removing the legal right of women to assemble outside the presence of men

Eliminating data collection of sex-based inequalities in areas where females are underrepresented

Elimination of sex-based crime statistics - this is happening now, "women's" violence is on the rise, apparently (!) Have a look at this site transcrimeuk.com/2017-convictions/

Removing the legal right of women to organize politically against sex-based oppression by males

Removing the legal right of women to educational programmes created for women outside the presence of men

Elimination of sex-based crime statistics

Eliminating athletic programmes and sports competition for women and girls

Removing the legal right of women to be free from the presence of men in public facilities such as toilets or changing rooms

Elimination of grants, scholarships, board and trustee designations, representative positions, and affirmative programmes for women

Removing the legal right of women to create reproductive clinics, rape crisis services, support groups, or any organisations for females alone

Eliminating the legal right of lesbians to congregate publicly

Elimination of lesbian-specific organisations and advocacy groups

Removing the legal right of women to free speech related to sex roles and gender - No-platforming is already with us.

Elimination of females patient's rights to separate hospital facilities

Elimination of the right of females to prefer female providers for their intimate personal care

Elimination of the human right of female prisoners to be housed separately from male prisoners

Unlike any other “social justice” venture in history, Transgender Rights are unique in that they are completely based on eliminating the human rights that are specific to women.

Please explain why you think this is a good idea, and women should just accept it because some men "feel" female? What does that even mean? It's just saying "I prefer these stereotypes, therefore I am a woman". How do you think the more conservative cultures that make up modern Britain are going to react to the idea that MEN can just walk into changing rooms in schools, hospitals, shops etc when their wives and kids are in there? Do you think they will just shrug their shoulders, or do you think that the freedom of women and girls from these cultures will be curtailed? How would you fancy running into this bloke, for example?

www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/news/4390490.Cross_dressing_Burnley_burglar_jailed_indefinitely/

He's currently on hunger strike, and wants to get moved to a female prison. Unsurprisingly, there are plenty of deluded handmaidens like you who agree...."

YesItsADebate · 03/02/2018 09:46

AreYou or anyone else not blocked, do you have a screenshot of LM promoting a ‘down with cis’ group?

Popchyk · 03/02/2018 09:32

Why shouldn't Lily self-identify as a journalist you meanies?

Purely because they can't string a sentence together, have no rational thought, don't consider other points of view or be prepared to do work or research. Hypocrites all of you.

Anybody should be able to self-define as a journalist, despite journalist having no definition. And the term journalist has always covered non-journalists anyway.

Lily and Robert Fisk are on the same level, except Lily is better because trans.

Dinosaurs the lot of you.

pamish · 03/02/2018 02:38

But Lily is a greater politician than Harvey Milk, because Lily Says So! Lily will be remembered in 40 years' time just like Harvey!
[This may be true but not for the reasons Lily thinks.]

Never forget Lily was voted into their post, by dozens of LP adults.

thebewilderness · 03/02/2018 02:30

Harvey Milk was a Gay man who advocated for Gay rights. There was no LGBT in 1978. Unlike the 20 year old Madigan, I was there. I remember it very well. Madigan is an enormous mendacious opportunist.

pamish · 03/02/2018 02:24

I may have missed that you've already flagged this, Lily Speaks!

thebewilderness · 02/02/2018 22:05

I think Madigan is an example of self identified failed men doing in politics what their counterparts are doing in sport. Displacing women for personal advancement.

AreYouOrHaveYouEverBeenATERF · 02/02/2018 21:44

Hype park Grin Hyde Park.

Dear, Lily Madigan.

Your name is Liam and you're an MRA in makeup, my dear. You are MALE and nothing you can ever say or do will change that.

Love, WOMEN.

AreYouOrHaveYouEverBeenATERF · 02/02/2018 21:40

that is obviously actual^ violence against transwomen. Misgendering.

As opposed to actual, actual violence against a 60yr old grandmother who was punched to the ground by transwomen in Hype park.

BelaLugosisShed · 02/02/2018 21:36

The way people are fawning over Madigan is sickening, he’s sly and manipulative but not terribly bright.
That rascist scumbag ‘christine’ is unbelievable, people on twitter surmising he’s autistic because of his bizarre ‘logic’ rather than just a dickhead 🙄
I’m getting a bit fed up of JJ and Venice venerating Corbyn and saying Labour will listen and be fair tbh. I don’t think he or the party gives a shit.

If Labour wanted balanced debate they would have stamped on the FB group and shut it down/ or suspended the instigators pending investigation. They’ve done precisely nothing.

The Indy piece by Angela Rayner hasn't gone down too well in the comments. I hope someone in her office is feeding back the results. twitter.com/AngelaRayner/status/959032920932417537
.

AreYouOrHaveYouEverBeenATERF · 02/02/2018 20:53

Oh, we are fucked, aren't we? As we always were. Always, we are the sex that is unworthy, untrustworthy, and now, "violent" - when it suits them. Like when LM is "scared" of Linda Bellos.

We thought we almost had it - equality - we thought most people were working towards equality of women. We were wrong. They absolutely aren't. As JJ says - we didn't even make it to 50%. They would rather see see transwomen in positions of power than women..Women are thrown under the bus.

thebewilderness · 02/02/2018 20:46

The conventional wisdom seems to be that trans identified males are failed men and so therefore women because women are failed men. They teach Aristotle's views on the matter in schools to this day so it should not surprise us that every generation is conditioned to misogyny.

ChattyLion · 02/02/2018 20:42

Agree it’s all about the MtF transwomen. Which is particularly odd because surely if we are to take the needs of trans people seriously in public policy we should find out a bit what their actual needs are. Both MtF and FtM trans people.

Like in that ridiculous BSA survey from NatCen. Keeps talking about the increasing prominence of ‘transgender people’ but makes literally NO MENTION of FtM Transmen. As if they simply do not exist.
Or more accurately as if ‘trans’ only equals men who ID as women.

It’s hilarious. Doesn’t even say, er sorry we couldn’t actually think of any transmen.

’Transgender people and their stories are becoming increasingly visible in society; with the emergence of various public figures in the last decade or more such as celebrity Caitlyn Jenner, actress Laverne Cox, Big Brother winner Nadia Almada and former soldier Chelsea Manning. [..] The Danish Girl starring Eddie Redmayne, Hayley Cropper on Coronation Street, and the first of its kind, BBC2 sitcom Boy meets Girl.’

www.bsa.natcen.ac.uk/media/39147/bsa34_moral_issues_final.pdf

It’s actually not hilarious at all it’s really worrying because policy makers will use this stuff so uncritically.

OnTheList · 02/02/2018 20:36

Yes and they can see how chancers might use it. Except chancers trying to see women and girls with no clothes on because THAT HAS NEVER HAPPENED ANYWHERE TO ANYONE

But women are inherently manipulative and would clearly just lie to steal things from their brothers. Never have men ever been manipulative or looked to abuse any 'rule'. Women will abuse this so must be kept in their box. Men will not abuse this. Especially not sexual predators. No way. Never.

Mner · 02/02/2018 19:22

Transmen are completely ignore don't throughout the vast majority of the debate. The greens do list them in their policy (transmen are men, transwomen are women) but I've not seen them mentioned elsewhere.

It's quite interesting the primogeniture angle..
