Yes beyond that’s what I meant but was missing an apostrophe!

How can anyone think that penis hat picture is ok on a woman’s march! And the male dominatrix speaker is just about enough to make your head explode 😡

lizzieoak · 23/01/2018 17:57

A close up of the trans women are women sign at a march. Note the penis with “fuck your pussy hats” written on it.

Master Wu, I seriously hope you don’t think white women should just shush about feminism as somewhere someone is suffering in a different way. Just because we’re not in a war zone does not mean we need to be good little women and keep quiet about women’s equality and women’s spaces.

EggsonHeads · 23/01/2018 17:41

Also a "concerned citizen"? Is this Stalinist Russia?!

EggsonHeads · 23/01/2018 17:41

I love the response. I'm not really a peak transer but this is one time that the internet got shit right.

Didn't know where to drop this. It popped up on a football forum I use.

MasterWu · 23/01/2018 17:35

This woman really is something special.Shocking, that one of the bravest things I have seen in a while is a woman daring to define the word 'woman' at the women's march.

Really? Holding a placard is one of the "bravest" things you've seen in a while? White middle class women and their feminism eh? Grin

Not much support for the brown people fighting real oppression is there?

Has anyone posted this link yet? Even me (getting a cold/addled by lack of sleep due to tsunami warning). It’s a very good article and this from the comments section.

lizzieoak · 23/01/2018 15:07

That makes sense Beyond! It was the middle of the night for me and I was somewhat concerned about the tsunami warning they were threatening us with!

Caille, while they are the same party (unlike provincial and federal Liberals) It’s completely different staff etc and Morgane was running and apparently works for the NDP at the provincial level.

I’m intrigued to see how this goes. Morgane has deleted the post, but there’s screen caps aplenty. People’s vitriol against the sign woman horrifies me - where does it come from? Many of the nastiest posters advocating violence against her are women.

BeyondWW · 23/01/2018 14:13

I think fur means "kool aid central, Canada", rather than "central Canada" Grin

Caillearchy · 23/01/2018 14:09

I used the main party site, but if I don't get a reply today I'll do that as well.

lizzieoak · 23/01/2018 11:57

That’s a brilliant idea, Caille, I’ll do the same. You did it on the B.C. provincial NDP’s site? I’m appalled that someone with such a shaky grasp of legal issues got nominated to run for office (she did not win the seat).

lizzieoak · 23/01/2018 11:53

Fur coat, she’s in Vancouver, which is on the ocean, a couple of thousand kilometres from central Canada. Not that it matters :) just saying.

furcoatnaeknickers · 23/01/2018 11:16

She’s so brave to do this esp in kool aid central Canada
I echo that I hope she is safe

TheBadgersMadeMeDoIt · 23/01/2018 09:22

This whole trans rights business reminds me a lot of the evolution/intelligent design debate. One side claim the moral high ground while throwing their "alternative facts" around, drumming up support from people who want to be seen to do the "right" thing...then try to get their screwball viewpoint entrenched in law so that anybody who dares to speak the scientific truth gets shouted down, vilified and possibly prosecuted.

So far, common sense seems to be prevailing in the ID debacle but all this...? This is getting scary.

Caillearchy · 23/01/2018 07:31

I too am this woman, and I used the contact form on the NDP's website to explain that doxing, and targeting women for harassment online isn't a good look for a party candidate.
Will be interesting to see if I get a response.

Another who's hoping she is safe.

lizzieoak · 23/01/2018 05:43

Looks like Morgane has deleted the thread on fb. Still on twitter though. I wonder if someone explained doxxing to Morgane and legal action arising from it?

When your biology, your body, is labelled as hate speech, you become the embodiment of hate speech simply by your existence.

Datun · 22/01/2018 23:46

No, I was getting confused with all the new luckers de lurking out of pure rage.
