< head desk>

DS used to breastfeed his beloved trains. Not sure what that makes him. His status as a well-adjusted feminist male must be an illusion.

lowpothetical Grin

My husband is a bit mystified about how he is now gay. I pointed out that his rugby playing, pint drinking, 6 foot, short haired wife who works in a male dominated industry is now, by the modern definition, a man, so he needs to get with the programme!

He countered with the assertion that in fact we are still a heterosexual couple as he likes pink, nice candles, lying in bubble bath, a good weep and cooking. He has retreated in to the kitchen to make a fish pie to prove the point. I'm on the sofa with a beer Grin

DrStringzDulcimer · 20/01/2018 19:57

Grin @nauticant

I'm just totally confused gender fluid. Some days I'm a man (jeans, trainers, no makeup, main earner, beer) and some days I'm a woman (lipstick, dresses, prosecco, ironing, bleeding). Sometimes I'll even change my gender during the day - I'll start the day as a man and end up as a lady by the evening. Or vice versa. It's quite hard to keep up with myself and all my various genders, to be honest.

Oddly though, the man who followed me home and attacked me as I tried to get my keys out of my bag knew what gender I was. And the man who followed me into the women's loos in a club and threw me up against a wall knew too. And the one who grabbed me between the legs as I walked past him, in a public place, in broad daylight, he knew too.

And the midwives who delivered my son, they knew. And the Dr who saved me when an ectopic pregnancy ruptured, they knew. And the nurse who gave me my abortion pills, she knew. And the Dr who did my ERPC knew. And the one who refused me a sterilisation until I begged and cried, they knew.

Funny that, innit?

YEs Gasp0de and Datun I also thought that the idiotic tweeter was a man or MtF trans. For a woman to say it shows she’s really drunk the koolaid.

PocketCoffeeEspresso · 20/01/2018 19:52

She. She’s a woman. As in adult female.
*

To be fair we can't see if she's wearing a dress and heels, so it's an easy mistake to make

Also.. I just can't get he hang of bold/italic on mobile app.*

cafeaulaitpourvous · 20/01/2018 19:51

@thebewilderness or a lowpothetical.... no heels.. gettit?

.... I will get my coat then..... my mans coat ...

thebewilderness · 20/01/2018 19:45

I do not own any heels so I am guessing that means I am a hypothetical.

thebewilderness · 20/01/2018 19:42

8th rule of misogyny: Men are whatever men say they are and women are whatever men say they are.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 20/01/2018 19:39

I made that mistake too, Datun! Not that it matters. It's an idiotic statement, no matter who said it.

She. She’s a woman. As in adult female.

Oh!

Datun · 20/01/2018 19:35

Same here. DH said he'd do dinner.

Of course I went into a mad panic in case he forgot to stir the gravy with his knob and became an instant woman.

splendide · 20/01/2018 19:35

Oh dear. He is definitely going to be reprimanded by transgender head office for that one.

She. She’s a woman. As in adult female.

EggbertNobacon · 20/01/2018 19:28

I spent this afternoon making Lego with my DD. As it is a toy we didn't need our vaginas to put it together, I don't think a penis would have been much help either, however she (xe?) is in Batman PJs and my dressing gown is blue so we are clearly both men. I can now self ID out of my heavy periods, although I'll probably continue to chestfeed.

Datun · 20/01/2018 19:27

Oh dear. He is definitely going to be reprimanded by transgender head office for that one.

Absolute rookie error.

Never mention gender stereotypes.

Just keep saying a woman is whoever says they are one.

Strewth, he's going to be get rapped on the knuckles. "We've been through this! We stopped talking about stereotypes in 2015. Didn't you get the memo?"

LardyMardy · 20/01/2018 19:25

If I’m not a woman where the f is this blood coming from?*

I don’t get that any more. So I guess I’ve been a man since I was 55.

MrsDoylesTeaBags · 20/01/2018 19:21

Well I'm wearing DS's old hoodie, what does that make me?!?!

Oh and thanks Nauticant I always wondered what pansexual means Grin

fairgame84 · 20/01/2018 19:20

What the fuck am I?
Most days i wear make up and trousers and flat shoes.
Today I've washed, shopped, cooked but also done diy.
Am I some sort of half and half?

Ekphrasis · 20/01/2018 19:20

Shock ds tried to bf his toys when he was two. Shit, I'd better get saving for HRT and a lop op for him.

BronwenFrideswide · 20/01/2018 19:16

Excellent news Gasp, you mean this time next year we really, really will be millionaires?Grin.

One a more serious note the part of that tweet that really sums up the illogicality of all this is and annoys me more than anything is the most women are female bit. The definition of woman is adult human female isn't it?

Arguing with people who post stuff like the above tweet is like banging your head against a brick wall, it is only nice when it stops.

TallulahWaitingInTheRain · 20/01/2018 19:15

Fuck, I've just realised the nursery performed a sex-change on my toddler when they let him (her?) wear a princess dress the other day Shock Isn't this a child protection issue? Should I call the police?

CertainHalfDesertedStreets · 20/01/2018 19:15

hairyball I refer you to my quoting your explanation of your name in admiration of your hard sums on the pub thread 😆

Just checking if your lady brain was on Grin

Sevendown · 20/01/2018 19:07

If I’m not a woman where the f* is this blood coming from?

HairyBallTheorem · 20/01/2018 19:06

Certain - I refer you to the explanation of my name on the pub thread Wink

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 20/01/2018 19:06

Good news actually, Bronwen. You just need to swap clothes (obviously), and set up a YouTube channel where the two of you can evangelise about both being trans. You'll be minted in no time.
