I doubt she does, I am on the terfblockers list and am not blocked.

I wonder if the transactivists will be daft enough to start threatening and spamming the solicitors with the usual nonsense

CurriedNoodle · 14/02/2018 00:09

Err wtf JJ?

JJ posted something about seeing lots of ignorant transphobia and wanting to disassociate herself with it.

I simply put would you mind pointing it out? Sorry for being cynical but I'm too used to screams of transphobia being used to silence reasoned debate.

And now I'm blocked.

Does JJ use Terfblocker?

Latest fundraiser update. Legal work is about to commence.

Update:

This is Jen - the self-id debate is becoming more mainstream every day and we need to keep pushing. Remember this is a tory policy which has cross-party support so don't let the media spin it as 'women vs Corbyn'. It isn't. This is a bone of contention in ALL parties, which is why we need the debate in the form of a calm, measured, fact-based national conversation. The media's only purpose is to undermine Corbyn and the Labour party as socialism poses such a threat to the business class: they could not care less about women.

The funds, to the value of £22,839, are now in the process of being cleared by Gofundme and will land in one of my bank accounts shortly. Gofundme took out £2,204.34 in fees, which leaves us with £20,634.66.

I am putting them in a spare Santander account I have which has a couple of DDs and a fee coming out of it, to the value of £59. I put £59 into it every month. The reason I want to use this account is because it will pay us interest of 1.5% on the balance, But the Santander t&cs insist the account has 2 DDs set up.

We have been asked by our solicitors, Bhogal Partners, to transfer money into our client account in advance of work and we will shortly be sending them £2,500.

We have instructed them with the aim of upholding the laws on the 2010 Equalities Act exemptions which states that sex is a protected characteristic. This is in regard to the Labour party having allowed legally male persons onto all-women shortlists.

Do try to attend the next Woman's Place UK event near you. Our meeting numbers are growing exponentially and pretty soon we won't have to meet in secret! #WPUK

Another option for spending if legal action were non viable for some reason would be to spend a few grand on some well phrased neutral questions to measure representative public opinion on self ID and what it would mean in practice for women’s spaces, opportunities, sport etc.

Could be done as questions to be added on the end of an omnibus survey via one of the big market research/polling companies.
Independently produced stats are helpful for keeping media coverage and political attention.

Just below the 'Donate Now' button on the gofundme page you'll see Jennifer James name. Click on the envelope next to her name to send a message.

Biologicalreality · 01/02/2018 21:43

How does one email JJ? I am not on twitter. The latest update asked for emails.....I could of course just donate again...! (but have done twice already and now get multiple email updates)

ExFunFeminist · 31/01/2018 23:31

I completed the survey but felt the questions were quite limited. I donated to the fund to challenge a clear legal point of law that the Labour Party are ignoring sex as a recognised characteristic under the Equality Act 2010. I expected the questions in the survey to be something like: If not the funds are not used to ensure only people legally recognised as women can enter AWS (assuming the legal fight is won without using the funds), then the funds will be used for x,y,z. I completed the survey but it seemed more interested in Labour Party interests rather than women's and children's interests.

LangCleg · 31/01/2018 18:35

Oh yes!

  1. donate to A Woman's Place
LangCleg · 31/01/2018 18:32

I've also filled it out. Some of the options were awkward.

Jen - if you're reading, my position is this:

I don't want the money back. Priorities for spending:

  1. AWS
  2. defending women in legal/disciplinary difficulties over the funder
  3. Any other legal challenge to self-ID
BetsyM00 · 31/01/2018 18:27

Just filled out the survey too. I was thinking of A Woman's Place for the third question, but ideally I would like the money to go to strategic litigation for strengthening women-only spaces. Or even trying to repeal the GRA!

OvaHere · 31/01/2018 18:21

A survey has just been posted to the Go Fund Me. It would be helpful for as many people possible who have donated to fill it.

I struggled a bit with the last question (you could only pick one) so if you are reading JJ if the AWS is won I would support the money going firstly to those who face legal troubles for the involvement in the campaign and also to donate any remaining to somewhere like Women's Place.

Worryingly Aggressive Non-female Knobs?

DodoPatrol · 29/01/2018 13:47

Men Against Female Independent Activity?

OvaHere · 29/01/2018 13:29

FEMICIDE
Female Erasing Male Is Called Ideological Delusional Extremist

Probably a bit long to catch on but a good brain teaser for a dull Monday Grin

Ekphrasis · 29/01/2018 13:18

This is going to be on world at one today - at least the AWS issue and self ID. Radio 4.

Theowlinthepussyhat · 29/01/2018 00:38

How about Female Exclusionary Trans Identifying Dunderhead? Grin

HerFemaleness · 28/01/2018 23:37

Oh man, it would be almost worth joining twitter so that every time a right on lefty bloke commented I could say ''and here comes the BETAMALE.

PidgeonPodge · 28/01/2018 21:44

Dammit, Pidge! Not content with stealing our names and spaces, you are now stealing my thunder too. Humph. Foldy-arms and hard stare

Haha, maybe I'm the right sort of trans after all Wink

Nah, I can't be. I don't even punch my own elderly and sometimes confused mother for calling me my 'old' name (I only changed one letter, of course she will sometimes use it, she gave it to me after all)

Damn, I visited earlier and missed out on shouting TERF at her and offering to burn the house down.

(About half way through typing this jokey response I actually felt a bit sad that it's sort of true for some people)

Ekphrasis · 28/01/2018 20:14

Awesome pidgeon!

BeyondWitchbitchterf · 28/01/2018 18:02

Oh I like BETA
Could even add it to the fantastic MALES and have...

Biology exclusionary trans activist men against liberty & equality.

QuentinSummers · 28/01/2018 17:56

herfemaleness that would deliver an added benefit of really annoying MRA types Grin

OnTheList · 28/01/2018 17:46

Pidgeon definitely wins the internet Grin

Men Against Liberty and Equality

Perfect

LangCleg · 28/01/2018 17:45

I've donated more than once. Real name which matches card but ticked the anonymous box. No increase in spam and no forced refund.

That said, I would recommend that people do not use their main email address for this outfit. And to register complaints with both the company and ICO.

HerFemaleness · 28/01/2018 17:42

I think I'm going to find a nice acronym for those who beat up women and object to women's being centred in women's discussions.

We should do this.

My contribution. BETA. Biology Exclusionary Trans Activist. I did think Female exclusionary but I really like feta cheese so.

Freshlylaidterf · 28/01/2018 17:38

Same here with the spam since donating. Is there anything we can do?
