Wrong side of history

Here is something I know to be true: those campaigning against trans rights will fail. Your money will be raised and spent and wasted. Your legal challenges will not succeed. Your relentless attempts to do injustice will fail. You are on the wrong side of history. Your children will grow up knowing better than you. You cannot stop progress. Your efforts are in vain.

And every time I'm proven right - every time a court judgment goes against you and every time a law protecting trans men and women is passed and every time equality is further enshrined in the laws of this country I am going to return to this thread for the pure and petty purpose of telling you I TOLD YOU SO.

I think Lyra is a woman. Because if you advance search (I haven't but saw a post she made in another section the other day) you'll see she does believe in biology for some things. Either that or there's going to be one very disappointed TIM.

Datun · 15/01/2018 18:32

Lyra is well and truly rattled by the thousands of pounds that have been raised in 24 hours. By women everywhere who are waiting for payday to donate a precious £5 that they can ill afford.

So they have come on here with the most ridiculous, juvenile, goady post possible.

The sole reason is to antagonise. To grab screenshots of women going off alarming.

Too bad that they are failing quite spectacularly.

Just more reasoned, logical, evidence-based rebuttal.

Lyra only has the transactivist hymnbook from which to sing. So they expected a transactivist-esque reaction.

Instead of which they are frantically reading through each post, gutted that there is nothing violent or crazy.

Dream on Lyra.

Women are taking care of women.

Ereshkigal · 15/01/2018 18:30

Surely it must be time for that cake to be iced??

So many cakes, so little time... 🎂

Agerbilatemycardigan · 15/01/2018 18:27

I've spent 53 years being belittled, abused and sidelined because I was born female. I'll be damned if I'll let that happen to my daughters and my granddaughter.

Do your fucking worst. If nothing else, I'll go down fighting.

Twunk · 15/01/2018 18:22

I am very comfortable with my decision to support this cause, and very encouraged that it is all small amounts given by lots of different people. Women do not give up fights because we may lose - we are braver and stronger than you can ever imagine.

QueenLaBeefah · 15/01/2018 18:22

I'm campaigning for women's rights.

In the future I will be able to look my granddaughters in the eyes and tell them I tried my best.

SimonBridges · 15/01/2018 18:14

The campaign isn't against trans rights. The campaign is to protect women's rights.

This. 100 x this.

I don’t care about what HIStory will say. I know that someone with a penis isn’t a woman. It’s as simple as that.

This isn’t like gay rights or racial rights.
When gay people got the right to get married or black people got the right to be treated as equal NO ONE ELSE LOST ANYTHING.

But it's just delicious to watch you all wriggle with excitement about a sum of money which you'll soon realise isn't enough to get you within 100 yards of a courtroom door.
This is just unpleasant and frankly a little bit pervy.

Agerbilatemycardigan · 15/01/2018 18:14

Guess what Lyra

When all of this is done and dusted, and for the sake of argument, natal women lose this battle, transwomen will still be no further forward.

The very second that you are seen as actual women, that is the moment that you realise what a monumental mistake you've made.

Womb transplants - great, now you too can be treated like cattle and patronised by medical professionals who ignore your post-natal medical needs - suck it up. You chose to have a baby.

Jobs - congratulations, you too can be paid less than you're worth. I mean, you're a woman now so will probably go on maternity leave anyway. No point in promoting you.

Opinions - they don't actually count now. Men talk louder and their opinions matter more than yours so go and make the tea.

Well done.

MisDescamisados · 15/01/2018 18:11

Of course Lyra applauds someone who opposes abortion rights but is vaguely positive over self ID .
Transwoman will never need an abortion and indeed , some think needing one -in the first place - is cis privilege .

Lyra , if you’re female , then ask yourself why you align with the Christaliban ?

Because , as the saying goes , if you tolerate this , then your children will be next .
Why do you hate the children ?

QueenOfTheAndals · 15/01/2018 18:10

@BeeInMyBonnet1985 I noticed that too 😂

AnotherQuoll · 15/01/2018 18:10

Started early? Or still going from last night.

EamonnWright · 15/01/2018 18:09

Seconded. 'Lyra Potter'? Really? Was Katniss Malfoy already taken? Or Hermione Belacqua

Well he obviously believes in fantasy so...

BeeInMyBonnet1985 · 15/01/2018 18:08

I'm calling bullshit on Lyra being a woman, even a very handmaiden-y one. I recognise these very male patterns of speech from many online interactions with enraged TRAs.

AllMyBestFriendsAreMetalheads · 15/01/2018 18:07

Lyra is clearly too busy with their time travel to answer our queries, given that they know what will happen in the future.

Just imagine all the good causes Lyra will be able to support knowing next week's lottery numbers.

ShotsFired · 15/01/2018 18:04

Well, I know the sun is always over the yard arm somewhere, but LyraPotter clearly started VERY early with that OP! Grin

Bless him and his funny little comments.

IrkThePurist · 15/01/2018 18:02

People who support sterilising non gender conforming children and breaking human rights legislation are on the Right wing side of history.

ATeardropExplodes · 15/01/2018 18:01

I'm actually hoping to see that total rise, because the more TERF money that gets wasted the happier I am

That is very interesting thanks for sharing. If you are happy with rapists in women's prisons and sterilising children then that is your decision to make. Me - I'm happy to donate to prevent this. I am comfortable with my position.

LangCleg · 15/01/2018 18:01

This is what always gets me, why aren't they campaigning for trans only shortlists? Especially as that way transmen/TIFs would get some representation.

Because they actually, truly, genuinely, believe that transmen have male privilege. From the moment they declare a trans identity.

I. Kid. You. Not.

terryleather · 15/01/2018 18:01

Agreed DonkeySkin hence my pp.

AnotherQuoll · 15/01/2018 18:01

Sure. You're not bothered at all, are ya, Lyra? Grin

Xenophile · 15/01/2018 18:00

Yes, I thought that too Guardians.

MisDescamisados · 15/01/2018 17:59

Lyra said TERF .
Lyra - with a thought terminating cliché, has proven what a bag os spite , slogan , and fragile entitlement Lyra is .

Shall we play Lyra bingo ?

TranswomenRwoman
True authentic self
Transphobiaaaaa
Bigot
Sex is a social construct
My penis is female
Respect my identity

Please feel free to add .

See , we can all do scorn , but some of us can walk that walk , as well .

MadamMinacious · 15/01/2018 17:58

Agreed, hence the bro in my response.

HemlockSpartacus · 15/01/2018 17:58
