Apologies in advance as this is Big Brother related. So watched I clip of the above and was wondering about people's views. As a R&B fan I know that Genuwine is a heterosexual male with, previously married and several children. He goes on BB assuming for the money and has advanced on by trans woman India Willoughby then makes advances towards him and he rejects "her" . She then storms off offended due to this and it is implied he is transphobic as 1. he doesn't want to kiss her and 2. Doesn't recognise her as female. Now I have lots of views about this but found it interesting that apparently this straight male Genuwine has no right to choose of state he is not sexually interested in someone who essentially was a male and is likely to be torn down as homophobic. Ironic given the current topics of sexual harassment that women are rightfully raising. Not sure what I'm asking really just thought it was interesting

I agree with you deydododatdodontdeydo that most* heterosexual men would not follow the trans ideology, and particularly would be wholly and volubly unconvinced that transwomen are women.

The point is that many of them are in the dark because in general the TRAs steer well away from trying to bully them. Bullying women and bullying those locked into a liberal identity is safe. They know that if they tried the same stuff on average blokes they'd have a fight on their hands, and quite probably a public backlash.

*obviously excluding MRAs, brocialists, men who are keen to burnish their liberal credentials, and "woke" men

ShotsFired · 09/01/2018 15:06

That other blonde lady sums it up - "he's just not that into you".

That's a perfectly legitimate reason not to date, kiss or have sex with anyone! Having sex with a trans-person is not mandatory, but this IW character makes it out as if Ginuwine is having it off with every single other natal female going and ONLY excluding them on purpose.

Agerbilatemycardigan · 09/01/2018 15:02

Being a transgender woman is not a game

While I do agree with some of what IW says in that piece BeyondWW what she fails to grasp, is that being an actual woman isn't a game either. Why does it take someone that used to be a man to make that type of statement for people to sit up and listen?

deydododatdodontdeydo · 09/01/2018 15:01

I think some heterosexual men are finally beginning to get it. They are supposed to find transwomen as sexually attractive as women. And they don't. Because they are not women.

I've said before on here, but nobody agreed with me. I reckon that most heterosexual men already get it to a certain extent.
Go ask any bloke in the pub if a transwoman is a woman and you'll see what their answer is.
Middle class liberati may be on board with the trans agenda, but most men aren't (imo).

BeyondWW · 09/01/2018 14:57

Pulling the rope up, innit. Same as the comments about how people should pay towards reassignment surgery!

Gileswithachainsaw · 09/01/2018 14:55

Oh that article is so ironic....

How dare they even stand there as a man telling men what constitutes being "woman enough" to use a toilet you yourself have no business uing either Hmm

Scabbersley · 09/01/2018 14:48

India must have been utterly repulsed by being gay in the first place

picklemepopcorn · 09/01/2018 14:46

Interestingly, despite attempting to mollify India, Andrew's angry response uses language more Föten aimed at a man than a woman.
""In the garden, Andrew ranted: “Dickhead. Fking do a good thing, apologise, take the fking make-up off and you still get fking victimised and shit. F*k you, you prick.”".

BeyondWW · 09/01/2018 14:40

"Where you say the extremist (like india) represent all trans people and that they are taking over country"

India is far from a TRA. India is not shy about sharing views that directly oppose TRAs. See www.pinknews.co.uk/2017/03/31/india-willoughby-unless-you-are-transitioning-stay-out-the-ladies/

Scabbersley · 09/01/2018 14:29

She's going to have a big shock when she comes out.

Shame it's taken her being rude about drag Queens to start the backlash. Being rude about women is fine apparently.

Babybauble · 09/01/2018 14:29

Talk about hypocrite too, so she's apparently 'drag phobic' but anyone 'transphobic' these days is penalised like it's akin to racism.

What I have seen though is a few posts on social media outing her about the photos at some pride festival posing with two drag queens, so there is a backlash.

IsaSchmisa · 09/01/2018 14:20

As well as male privilege, there were definitely some very uncomfortable racial undertones evident in India's attitude to Ginuwine too. Couldn't entirely divorce it from the context of white people feeling a sense of entitlement to black bodies. I am left wondering whether India would've exhibited that same attitude towards a white man.

Icantreachthepretzels · 09/01/2018 14:06

I love how India uses the black and white minstrels comparison for drag queens (white man in black face equivalent) and trans women (black people equivalent).
Doesn't seem to really be aware that she herself is the black and white minstrel of ladyface when it comes to real women.

Or, of course, she knows that exactly and this is why it upsets her so much - because there is literally no difference between a man dressed up as a woman and ...a man dressed up as woman - except one of them knows what they really are. And when drag queens parade around, and none drag queens dress up as them - the whole world gets to see that a man in a dress does not a woman make. No wonder she's phobic, it's the embodiment of the emperor having no clothes.

But who the fuck is she to police what men are wearing anyway? there is no law that says straight men can't wear dresses or makeup - and they might not even consider themselves to be in drag - just wearing what they like.

I've not watched CBB but India came across really badly, really attention seeking and self pitying in the article and I'm glad the men saw through it all. It's a shame the women appeared to go out of the way to validate India's histrionics- but then maybe they are more aware than the men of what would happen to them if they didn't.

Gileswithachainsaw · 09/01/2018 14:05

That IW has got some issues. For want of a better phrase.

No one owes her anything. She had no right to sex or a kiss from anyone. That happens between consenting adults. 2 consenting adults.

Of course he can bloody say no. How dare he even need a reason Confused

I hope this is a wake up call for IW tbh. They have clearly been pandered to for far to long and must be hard to actually come across people who have boundries as to how far they are willing to go to protect a strangers feelings.

Whole things a joke

You can spot the bloke in them.a mile off.

DeleteOrDecay · 09/01/2018 13:55

*India

DeleteOrDecay · 09/01/2018 13:54

Indiea knew exactly what Andrew was talking about he just didn't want to acknowledge it because he has based his whole 'transition' on gender stereotypes.

IndominusRex · 09/01/2018 13:49

Bloody he'll just reading this article www.radiotimes.com/news/tv/2018-01-09/celebrity-big-brother-are-you-team-andrew-or-team-india/
And this sentence really stood out:
Andrew then said that as a “heterosexual male from the north” he wanted to “break that gender barrier between a heterosexual male drinking beer down the pub called Dan and Dave, and bring in this heterosexual male who’s comfortable with himself…” although India then cut him off, saying “I have no idea what you’re talking about if I’m honest”.

cindersrella · 09/01/2018 13:42

If I had a trans male come to me I wouldn't be interested as previously they were female. If my husband had a trans woman come up to him he would feel sooo uncomfortable if they were moving onto him. As much as trans people think they deserve respect for what they are doing feel I think people who haven't transitioned and don't plan on should be respected by them too.

Popchyk · 09/01/2018 13:38

I think some heterosexual men are finally beginning to get it. They are supposed to find transwomen as sexually attractive as women. And they don't. Because they are not women.

I suspect that this is a great shock to someone like India who presumably expected men to come flocking, particularly since, in India's eyes, India has done as much as possible to become what India considers to be attractive to men.

India was unhappy living as a man. Now India looks miserable living as a woman. Not the golden ticket to an inspiring, joyful, fulfilled life after all.

I genuinely hope that younger viewers take note.

OlennasWimple · 09/01/2018 13:35

I'm not watching CBB, but presumably Genuwine will now be branded transphobic and will be no-platformed because of his nasty bigoted views? No? Is that only something that happens to lesbians who don't want to date transwomen? Hmm

doctorcuntybollocks · 09/01/2018 13:06

We should consider ourselves honoured.

Sooo Genuwine rejects trans woman's advances and he is in the wrong?
DeleteOrDecay · 09/01/2018 12:59

Everyone be quiet! 1dad2kids has spoken. It's all being blown out of proportion and we women are just being hysterical \end thread.Hmm

MrGHardy · 09/01/2018 12:44

I wonder what 1dad2kids’ opinion would be if omen of his children showed stereotypes of the other gender and was told by trans experts to consider transitioning. I wonder what his opinion would be if he were lesbian and told to suck ‘lady dick’.

GuardianLions · 09/01/2018 12:18

Also, I think I would find India quite physically intimidating. India knows that in a fist fight India would win against any of those women there, so do the women (biology).

GuardianLions · 09/01/2018 12:11

She may have inverted her willy, but she's still every bit a narcissistic man strutting around in eyeliner being aggressive and intimidating.

Yes I did feel, when India was forcefully commanding a group of women 'to really penetrate' them with India's beliefs... that someone should have responded "If you want to penetrate women so much, why did you get your penis cut off?"

However, I think India fantasised about how validating the whole BB experience would be, probably some really exquisite dreams, and the reality did not work out that way AT ALL. I think that is why India is being so crazed and domineering - those fantasy characters have come to life, with a free and unpredicable will of their own, and are not behaving how the doting inhabitants of Planet India should. India is going to get them in line!.... but it just doesn't seem to be working for India, does it?

Completely deranged and mentally unwell. I think it is immoral that people are legally and medically having their delusions validated - how are they supposed to touch base with reality after all that?
