I asked for a thread to be pulled as I thought I had made a mistake and that Lilly Madigan was in fact just joshing about being able to get pregnant but no...

Lily Madigan Dec 28
‏Womb implants are now possible. It's quite exciting. Expensive currently but yes if I wanted to in the future, reasonably I could get pregnant x
"I think you are unintentionally being transphobic. I can get pregnant. Not right now, which is true of many women. Please don't single me out" Lilly s own words.

I don t want this to be about LM as such but I think that some parts of the trans community have no idea of the medical implications involved in transition....

It is so frighteningly bonkers that people out there are sending congratulations for future pregnancies - and no I dont think I or my daughters will be better off with lots more little Lilies in the world! surely people who say such things are just humouring him? Like a child saying when they grow up they want to be a fire engine.

I can no longer have children but I've had 4 pregnancies and two children. I have experienced 'Me too' harassment and glass ceiling misogyny. I care about women who have experienced domestic violence and emotional abuse and the many other abuses and aggressions. But a woman like me was ousted by Lily from the role of Women's Officer and if I disagreed with Lily I would be labelled and abused for doing so.

How can this person represent, recruit, protect and support women's rights? As far as I can see Lily is solely promoting Lily and Lily's divine right to everything. I'm worried that the LP and Lily's backers wont see the error of their ways......

cafeaulaitpourvous · 16/01/2018 17:26

I have more chance of getting pregnant - even though I have been sterilised and I am menopausal...

cos I have a womb ...

StoneColdDiva · 16/01/2018 17:18

When Lily says they can get pg, surely everyone thinks "this person is delusional and needs help".

Why are these supporters abetting Lily?

cafeaulaitpourvous · 15/01/2018 20:04

Mad as a bag of frogs

As my grandma used to say

nauticant · 15/01/2018 14:30

But also brilliantly effective in goading people.

I'm sure part of the reason is to attract abuse which can then be posted with "see, I told you".

The best way to handle LM is to screenshot but never to engage.

EamonnWright · 15/01/2018 14:10

The ease with which they can use infertile women and intersex people is disgusting.

Superlandlady · 15/01/2018 14:06

HIs fan club have started knitting.

Thanks, you've rescued me from delving any deeper into LM's Twitter feed, even though I want to in a sort of self-punishing sort of way.

OlennasWimple · 09/01/2018 12:39

polar and Panna - tsk, you clearly haven't been paying attention

LM has no money because of having been thrown out of home and needing to find a deposit for a rental accomodation, whilst also living at home with his transphobic family and having three "jobs"

LM has asked for donations to a PayPal account in the name of Liam Madigan because although the most hurtful thing anyone can do is deadname him, except when it's LM himself using the name in order to ask for money. Plus although LM has a passport which says "female" in it, the bank won't allow him to change the name on the account because he has no ID in his new name.

It's all very simple really. You have to overlook the gaping inconsistencies and just nod along, with the occasional murmur of "you're so brave!" and "go girl!". Because otherwise the whole edifice comes tumbling down

polaricecaps · 09/01/2018 12:03

it appears that there is a link to Paypal on her twitter account in the name of 'Liam' I am confused

So am I, on more than one count. Is this the new way to introduce yourself: "Hello, give me money"!

nauticant · 09/01/2018 11:51

Hopefully, having got a piss-taker this time round it will dampen some of their enthusiasm for trans = best.

LangCleg · 09/01/2018 11:30

Major political party plays agony aunt host to teenage psychodrama, insults those who point this out - and expects the mature population to flock to vote for it. You really couldn't make it up.

Gileswithachainsaw · 09/01/2018 10:28

He's deliberately on a wind up for sure.

One min he's asexual then he's a lesbian Hmm

One thing I have noticed though is that less and less people seem to he commenting on his personal or trans posts..

AnachronisticCorpse · 09/01/2018 10:26

I am honestly warming more and more to the idea that Liam is a bit fat troll. The PayPal link, the photo of him with his girlfriend #lesbians, the pinned post about applying for the jo cox thing.

Pannalash · 09/01/2018 10:21

When lily M is upset about 'dead naming' does that mean that she is upset when people refer to her previous male name? Yet it appears that there is a link to Paypal on her twitter account in the name of 'Liam' I am confused.

IcedCocoa · 08/01/2018 21:30

I think my DC would reject the idea that I was merely a bag for them to grow in.

Their father on the other hand probably did not see me as much more than there to do his biddingHmm

It is reductionist, yes, it reduces women.
DC still here, their father not.

AnachronisticCorpse · 08/01/2018 21:24

It’s all part of how reductive the whole ideology is. Women are simply a hole for a penis and a bag for a foetus.

AnachronisticCorpse · 08/01/2018 21:20

Yes! I have skin tags, extra hair in unnecessary places, gum disease, darker nipples and an aversion to coffee and mayonnaise when I’m pregnant. I don’t think they can at all be attributed to simply having a uterus.

OlennasWimple · 08/01/2018 20:59

Anyone who thinks that pregnancy is just something that happens in a stretchy sack called a womb is an ignoramus.

They need to think about why the NHS - never the most generous funder of treatments - offers free dental treatment to women during pregnancy and for six months after birth. Because it's not just about some incubator that we carry in our pelvis, it's our whole damn bodies that are affected by pregnancy. Good luck replicating all of that with a male body

Thehairthebod · 08/01/2018 20:52

Look what Lily tweeted today... I really think Liam is trolling!

I stand corrected Lilly M can get pregnant
IcedCocoa · 06/01/2018 09:38

Yes, my DD would love to be able to fly, she has expressed that wish for several years. I hope she never discovers wingsuit jumping.

Upthread someone mentioned the risks to the fetus. Ethically, that is one of the main considerations.

However, I suspect even here women’s hard-won rights to bodily autonomy would be used against them. Because if a man chooses to carry a pregnancy in an implanted womb with all the risks of associated hormone injections, then the argument would be how is that different to women choosing to carry a fetus to term with any number of risks or to terminate?

There is a difference yes, but how do you argue it without falling back on arguments about nature (which already go out the window with any number of reproductive interventions and women’s right to choose)

I am not trying to be provocative, just suggest that women’s gains can be used against them here too.

MrGHardy · 06/01/2018 01:03

So if Lily can have a functioning womb, can I have functioning wings? I always felt like I should be flying the blue skies. Coz why stop at wombs, let’s transplant from other species next, and mind you all on the NHS, coz feels.

Didactylos · 04/01/2018 15:27

I think thats the basis of all of it really
magical thinking

RedToothBrush · 04/01/2018 15:10

There is a strange theme of 'false hope' building here isn't there?

RavingRoo · 04/01/2018 14:58

Egg freezing doesn’t result in as high a birth rate as embryo freezing. I think this should be made clear to trans men to allow them to find a sperm doner. I think in terms of wombs - stem cell research will mean that eventually all organs (except the brain) will eventually be ‘custom built’.
