Allegedly to celebrate 100 years of the female vote.

Preview info indicates that among the prospective female celebs are two TW. Do we think that the gender debate will be one of the topics discussed in there? And could it be a disaster for the GRA bill? Interested in hearing others' views!

(Also Katie Hopkins planned for it. Cant help hoping that she gets a bullied in there Grin)

Can someone explain the trans women aren't female thing? I thought that was the new biological fact we're all being expected to agree with

BarrackerBarmer · 02/01/2018 17:18

Willoughby is definitely not a terf!!!!!

I give you razor-gate.

Willoughby is of the ilk that there are superior trans who lady properly (shaved legs, lipstick and so on) and those who let the side down and damage the image of transwomen and risk the general population accurately associating the likes of Danielle Muscato with Willoughby. And of course, there's no material difference between Muscato and Willoughby save for grooming and possibly surgical status, which is neither here or there, really. Willoughby is desperate to create distance between categories of transwomen. It smacks of bolting the door behind you.

bambambini · 02/01/2018 16:39

Looks like Taloolah has pulled out - possibly due to Willoughby.

Ereshkigal · 02/01/2018 16:26

I think they're both transsexual, but I know the model was on TV in support of Topshop and Travis Alabanza.

Ereshkigal · 02/01/2018 16:25

Yes I'm not a fan of Willoughby but interested to see if there is a clash with the model.

bambambini · 02/01/2018 16:01

Willoughby is a “terf” and openly critical of transtrenders and not popular at all by many in the trans community.

I might watch it for a change to see what they have to say.

How did Hopkins come over when she was on it?

RebeccaWrongDaily · 02/01/2018 14:18

nobody born male can be described in any way shape or form as female. Even if you are prepared to swallow the transwomen are women - there is nowt female about them.

Alwaysinmyheart · 02/01/2018 14:16

Well I bloody hope there are 2 transMEN to balance things out when the male contestants go in the house!

Chances of that happening? Zero

I don't care about CBB, BUT it's one more example of something going to a man that should have gone to a woman.

Ereshkigal · 02/01/2018 14:15

I agree. But generally any trans activist or ally who isn't really stupid knows that MTF trans people are male. It's an actual fact. They will say that "woman is a gender" or they're "socially women". Male and female are biological. "Transwomen" (a word I never use now for this reason) are male.

Lazylouse · 02/01/2018 14:09

Surely if you think trans women are women, the you would also consider them female, as women are female. Basically it's bollocks and makes it impossible to know what we are talking about.

terfing · 31/12/2017 21:42

Hopkins has made some TERF-y comments in the past, so her being there might make things interesting.

The problem is, her criticism does come from a place of bigotry, rather than feminism.... Sad

Childrenofthestones · 31/12/2017 20:07

"Also Katie Hopkins planned for it. Cant help hoping that she gets a bullied in there grin)"

I doubt it would bother her. You may see her as vile and a great many do, but she is a strong woman and would give as good as she got.

SparklyUnicornTractors · 30/12/2017 15:21

Barracker I need a less CBB specific version of that gem on a t shirt.... Grin

Ereshkigal · 30/12/2017 15:10

It's a concerning creep into "female" which is factually incorrect even if you think that "transwomen are women"

MakeMisogynyAHateCrime · 30/12/2017 15:04

The thing is, I doubt audiences will take to India- he's very arrogant and mansplains a lot.

The edit will sort that out.
It will be all FABULOUS and mascara on Twitter.

I wonder if we have an issue with false advertising? I don’t agree with the trans women are trans women thing but whatever, if they wanted to call it “an all women CBB” then I’d be less angry than “all female”. So we can’t have woman or female? CBB isn’t my thing but when is the non-men CBB? Because those are the people who couldn’t vote.

I am genuinely going to look into the ASA’s (or which ever authority or agency is most relevant) and think about putting in a complaint. All female is not representative of the show they are advertising.

Ereshkigal · 30/12/2017 12:18

It's never going to be "female only"

Indigo911 · 30/12/2017 12:18

I’ve heard Sandra from Gogglebox is going in, and also Louise from Made in Chelsea. It’s only going to be female only for the first week and then they are bringing the men in. It could go one of two ways - it will either be the bitchiest house ever, all the females will get along and stand united

Ereshkigal · 30/12/2017 12:17

Barracker Grin

Ereshkigal · 30/12/2017 12:17

I saw him on a televised debate. Can't remember which one.

Ereshkigal · 30/12/2017 12:16

The model is a droning fool.

terfing · 30/12/2017 12:08

The thing is, I doubt audiences will take to India- he's very arrogant and mansplains a lot. Those type of people are never popular on the show.

Not sure about the model, but he looks quite young.

MentholBreeze · 30/12/2017 11:20

Please collect your razor on the way in and shave your legs carefully for the comfort of your bepenised housemates

For my sins, I watch some of those naked and afraid type shows (people dropped into the wilderness trying to survive for 21 days with one tool, and no clothes)

I've always been very curious about how the women are hairless throughout (including pristine eyebrows), and how they must have to carefully time it so they aren't on their period.

I can only assume they go through some crazy hunger-games style primping and preening session before hand with lasers n stuff, because they're generally dirty, so it would be pretty obvious if they were handed a razor and soap every morning to keep themselves de-haired.

BarrackerBarmer · 30/12/2017 11:14

Dear women of the BB house
In acknowledgement of the fact that females were even recently denied the vote, we've invited some males who would have certainly have been given the vote but would like to borrow some of your oppression to wear. If you wouldnt mind tailoring it to fit them and pretending it does, that would be lovely. Im sure you're naturally good at that. Oh, and on the subject of oppression they would like to hand you some more. Please collect your razor on the way in and shave your legs carefully for the comfort of your bepenised housemates.
