Slag lots of times but this was the first.
I was 13 he was late teens.
My crime: I walked past him and did not look at him when he said "alright darling"

Whore
Countless times but the one that sticks in my memory.
Aged 16 he was in his 30s with his mates outside a pub.
My crime: i said no thank you when he asked me for a fuck.

Just a tart
Aged around 19. Him same age.
My crime: I declined his offer of a drink in front of his mates so i was labelled just a tart who was out for free drinks. Confused

Hysterical bitch
Aged 22. Him about same age.
My crime: I told him to fuck off after he repeatedly grabbed my arse while I was waiting at the bar.

prozzy
Aged 22. Him much older.
My crime: wearing a short skirt.

Quite a few years of all the above comments then:

Ugly bitch
Aged 39. Him mid 30s.
My crime: To say no he could not sit on my knee in the pub I was drinking in.

Fat slag
Me aged 40. Him late 20s.
My crime: Telling him to fuck off after he pushed me out of the way in a very long taxi que I had been stood in for 20 mins and I was next in line.

The last one ^^ was last Friday evening.

In all my years I have never called men vile names like I have recieved.
One because I am not rude and vile but more importantly because I fear they would attack me if I spoke to them the same way.

The younger me used to put up with it keep my head down and move out of their way.
The older me fights back a bit but I am still scared they will hit me if I do.

Feel free to list your own.

Yes, it does count Three. He's a man and he called you a horrible name.

Threeleggedchair31 · 31/12/2017 02:24

My recents were all by women. I really can't remember the last time a man said anything like that to me.

Road rage- I had right of way, a woman pulled out in front of me. We were both stuck without moving so she wound down her window screaming, I started shouting over the top of her and she screamed slaaaaag as she drove past!

DH ex partner always calls me names. I've never called her one back! (To her face). She's called me: 'that tart', 'that slag', 'that Bitch' (All in front of DSS, how gracious!).

I was in a working man's pub a few weeks back and a fight broke out between a teenage boy and a grown man. Me and my other (tough) female friends tried to protect the teenage boy and we were verbally attacked by the men's wives/girlfriends. 'Piss off you interfering cunts!'.

Ooh wait, a man did call me a horrible name recently. My DH called me a c*nt, but I called him a pathetic child first. Does that count???

Bubbaleo · 31/12/2017 02:03

Oh, so in keeping with OP's title: That's what he said. My crime: dunno? Must be standing alone, looking frail.

Bubbaleo · 31/12/2017 01:53

Well I'm not going to let Asmen put me off from sharing my experiences. A few years ago, was recovering from cancer treatment. Dh took myself and dc's for a break in small fishing town, South England. Needed to stop for a rest, so dh took kids to a shop whilst I took a breather for 5 minutes. So, stood there, pale, ill looking, grey hair (in my 50's) and leaning on a walking stick. Three men approached and one said laughing, "drop your drawers and a tenner's yours" The other two men walked off, looking embarrassed which goes back to the point that men are going to have to speak up, not shuffle off all embarrassed. The reason I described my appearance is to show it doesn't make any difference how you look. Young, old, thin, big, ill looking, disabled. It shook me up because I was still recuperating. If I'd have been well, I would have given him a right mouthful! This was in broad daylight, with families around.

thebewilderness · 28/12/2017 19:05

I agree that the widespread abuse of women as well as the rape torture and abuse of women as entertainment clearly demonstrates that it would be even more common than it is now without the constraints currently in place.
Doesn't change the fact that this thread is about verbal abuse and you are still derailing it.

DoculamentDoculament · 28/12/2017 12:41

But you're saying that they already are aren't you? That men are routinely abusing, raping and killing women and men on juries, judges and in the Police are protecting them?

So you already think men have absolute freedom to do exactly what they want so what do you think would happen if the laws weren't restraining them? Because you don't think the law is?

AsMenDclaredWomenTheirInferior · 28/12/2017 03:49

@hipsterfun
If men agree men abuse women and girls, then nothing should be out of bounds in discussing that abuse and where it all stems from.

I believe people would rather stick their heads in the sand than face reality.

What do you think men would do collectively to women and girls if they had total freedom to do exactly what they wanted to do and there were no laws to restrain them?

AsMenDclaredWomenTheirInferior · 28/12/2017 03:37

Well you imagine that, when men sit on juries in rape cases and are the judges and are the police.

Collectively men protect each other and casting doubt on women's words and giving the benefit of the doubt to men is all part of it and telling women and girls not to dress a certain way or go out alone, cos the wolves are always busy hunting their favourite prey.

The streets are deemed men's territory, that is why men tell women, you venture there alone and you are asking for trouble.

Yes the streets are unsafe for women and girls to be alone on because men make them unsafe.

and the idea men protect women is pure male hype because it is men who put women's lives in danger in the first place but men never ever mention that.

And this is serendipitous, just popped up on Indy100:

www.indy100.com/article/porn-scripts-metoo-hashtag-men-tell-difference-stories-video-be-frank-8130061

Men cannot tell the difference between porn scripts and #MeToo sexual assault experiences.

Over 80% of online porn shows abuse of women.

ShoesHaveSouls · 27/12/2017 19:50

I think people are being a bit harsh here. I don't agree with the Nazi analogy - but this:

When your fathers, brothers and sons sit in their rooms watching women and girls being sexually abused, demeaned and degraded they aren't bothered what you think of them.

...is something we should all be thinking about.

The social acceptability of mainstream porn - and how abusive it is towards women - surely we should see how that's all linked? Men and teenage boys are watching this stuff - it has an effect.

thebewilderness · 27/12/2017 19:24

AsMenDclaredWomenTheirInferior
I think you would be better served to start your own thread rather than bludgeoning this one to death. You started off topic and have stayed off topic to the point where you have killed the topic.
In the words of the French soldier: “I don't want to talk to you no more, you empty-headed animal-food-trough wiper. I fart in your general direction. Your mother was a hamster, and your father smelt of elderberries.”

hipsterfun · 27/12/2017 15:40

Astrid, I agree; it’s an excellent example of how the unevenness of gender roles, and the silly games it generates, makes life crap for everybody.

hipsterfun · 27/12/2017 15:34

AsMen, I agree with Sophocles. Assuming you’re not trolling, a more measured style might serve you better.

AsMenDclaredWomenTheirInferior · 27/12/2017 11:04

What is it you are disagreeing with?

"*Look, I know I probably shouldn't engage, but I just want to keep on highlighting that asmens position that men are effectively Nazis has nothing to do with mainstream feminism."

The core of misogyny is a hatred for anything that isn't male.

That is what misogyny is all about.
STATUS MANHOOD

Can you not address the collective history of men and their ideas and what they think of women and girls?

When your fathers, brothers and sons sit in their rooms watching women and girls being sexually abused, demeaned and degraded they aren't bothered what you think of them.

QuentinSummers · 27/12/2017 10:53

I'm starting to read it as something that an MRA would write to make feminists look nuts. I reported a while ago to that affect.

Nineteenagain · 27/12/2017 10:11

Agreed asmens posts seem to be OTT.
Just wanted to say that the first incident i remember of name calling was at about 13 or 14 I declined a boys invitation to the school valentines dance. Thereafter his freinds keep shouting ' frigid' at me or coming up to me and whispering it in my ear. I didnt even know what it meant. This was in the 1960s and im sure seems nothing compared to what todays school girls suffer but it made me even more scared of boys and I didnt go near them for years after

DoculamentDoculament · 27/12/2017 09:23

It certainly looks nuts. And aggressive. And the kind of thing MRAs would love to point towards.

SophoclesTheFox · 27/12/2017 09:18

What on earth are the weird little images that you keep posting?

Look, I know I probably shouldn't engage, but I just want to keep on highlighting that asmens position that men are effectively nazis has nothing to do with mainstream feminism. I think it's important that it's not just left unchallenged, because god knows there are enough people out there that love to think this place is a hotbed of man-hating and who will seize on these posts as evidence of that.

That is not feminism. I don't even know what it is, but honestly, I'm starting to read it as something that an MRA would write to make feminists look nuts.

DoculamentDoculament · 27/12/2017 09:12

Woah Shock

AsMenDclaredWomenTheirInferior · 27/12/2017 09:07

@IfyouseeRitaMoreno

The difference, Asmen is one of scale.

The difference is, what is accepted in the culture and what isn't on a scale of 1 to 10.

The west has gone through a cultural change over the past 100 years from a male totalitarian rule culture to one of probably now around 70% male totalitarian rule.

The Nazi's weren't pro women, they were pro caging and cornering women in & exploiting their bodies.

Nazi's expected women to obey them and be their servants and be silent and take their abuse.

That is men's entire history.
It is not Nazi's history, it is men's history and men continue to perpetuate it.

What has changed in the culture are the laws and what men are now legally able to get away with when they are abusing women and girls for sport.
Yes they can't get away with as much as they are used to and that is men's gripe.

Everything is linked and to tell me not to point out men's history of abuse is not helpful in dealing with men's abuse which women are complaining about on this thread and which starts with these very words..
"Things men have called me and why."

Well I am addressing the why and I am very sorry you are unable to deal with that but it is relevant and necessary to focus on it and you and everyone else must face it head on and openly talk about it and not stick your heads in the sand hoping it will all go away because it isn't going to.

Things men have called me and why.
SophoclesTheFox · 27/12/2017 07:17

Completely agree, rita.

Your Nazi analogies aren't helpful, asmen - you're continually godwinning the thread to an extent that it actually makes little difference if you believe what you say, or if you're on a wind up, the effect is exactly the same -the thread is going nowhere.

IfyouseeRitaMoreno · 27/12/2017 03:17

The difference, Asmen is one of scale.

And complexity. That’s the issue. It’s not that all men are against all women. It’s that men love us too. They’re our brothers, colleagues, sons, husbands etc that we have all kinds of relationships with, not party members that have set out to destroy us.

But that’s what makes it so hard to identify. So much of sexism is low key, supposedly harmless, delivered to us as benevolently by people, both men and women, that we love.

It is weird, the extreme nature of your posts, that it makes me wonder if you’re trying to wind us all into a man-hating frenzy so that we look like loons.

Bubbaleo · 27/12/2017 02:32

Asmen, you're nasty and have an unbalanced way of thinking. You've derailed this thread a few times now from what is basically a thread for women to share some really horrible experiences. Are you actually a man trying to prevent us, by winding us up?

AsMenDclaredWomenTheirInferior · 27/12/2017 00:30

*-hanged-
changed

AsMenDclaredWomenTheirInferior · 27/12/2017 00:27

The core principle of misogynists is no different to the core principle of Nazi's and the desire to eradicate those they see as their inferior and if they can't eradicate them to annihilate their image and all these thing are based purely in male supremacism and male vanity.

The Nazi's began their annihilation of the Jews by removing them from every form of power, then they used Nazi propaganda to publicly disparage them. stirring up hatred against them until few Germans cared or intervened when they began mass murdering them.

Which is exactly what men did to the female of the species across the entire globe and that was not an exception but the rule.

If anything has altered in the west it is due to feminism and without it, nothing would have hanged but the misogynists have not magically disappeared and to try and claim none of this is related to what goes on today and men's abuse is separate to what men did in the recent past is farcical., it is all part of the very same thing.
