What excuse can a man use for killing his wife?

uk.yahoo.com/news/bubbly-university-student-strangled-death-tinnitus-suffering-estranged-husband-killed-145034454.html

This article makes it sound like a medical condition drove this man mad and he then killed his wife and tried to kill her son.

How is this possible to report this now like this!

I was very disappointed with the Times article about this murder. When are men who annihilate their families going to be held accountable for their actions?

Italiangreyhound · 15/12/2017 20:17

PricklyBall yes it is I looked up his name. The original article didn't seem to give the verdict. I could not believe he got off so I looked it up and yeah, it took the tossers in the jury 30 minutes to conclude that he had fallen on her. Even though he initially lied!

Fucking disgusting.

I think that's the same case as in the Independent article I linked to upthread, Italian. It is just unbelievable isn't it? "I tripped and fell into her vagina penis first." "Oh dear, poor chap, it's the sort of thing that could happen to anyone, off you pop without a stain on your character..."

Italiangreyhound · 15/12/2017 20:04

Change I am so sorry.

What the actual fuck is going on!

www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/crime/12052901/Ehsan-Abdulaziz-Saudi-millionaire-cleared-of-raping-teenager.html

"The jury acquitted Abdulaziz, of Maida Vale, of one count of rape after just 30 minutes of deliberations.

In his evidence, Abdulaziz demonstrated how the complainant had put her hand behind his head to pull her towards him, causing him to fall down.

"I'm fragile," he said. "I fell down but nothing ever happened, between me and this girl nothing ever happened."

He said it was possible he had semen on his hands after the sexual encounter with her friend.

During the trial, Judge Martin Griffiths permitted the rare step of allowing 20 minutes of Abdulaziz's evidence to be heard in private."

My God, men must hate us more than I realised.

Change - Flowers I have no words. That is just terrible.

Italiangreyhound · 15/12/2017 19:57

Angela www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4555314/Husband-slit-wife-s-throat-cleared-murder.html

"Prosecutors claimed that Rhodes cut his wife's throat from behind in a 'coup de grace' manoeuvre during the final row in the dining room of the house in Earlswood.

But Rhodes was cleared of murder after he described to the Old Bailey how Dawn lashed out with a knife during a row and hit him over the head."

I had to look up -coup de grâce
ˌkuː də ˈɡrɑːs,French ku də ɡʀas/Submit
noun
a final blow or shot given to kill a wounded person or animal.
"he administered the coup de grâce with a knife"
synonyms: death blow, finishing blow, killing, dispatch; More
an action or event that serves as the culmination of a bad or deteriorating situation.
"Howarth delivered the coup de grâce with a penalty two minutes from time"

This makes no sense at all! Was he putting her out of her mysery like a wounded animal? No, of course not. So the second meaning of a an action or event as the culmination of a bad or deteriorating situation, doesn't fit with 'self defense' but does fit with a man enacting revenge.

When my cousin LTB he came to her office and shot her in the head. Prolly outed myself...fuckit

abouttimeforanotherone · 15/12/2017 19:22

I used to know someone who tried to kill his wife when he found out about her affair. DH had several letters from him in jail, none of which showed any remorse whatsoever. She drove him to it apparently. All her fault he got charged with attempted murder because if she hadn't had an affair he wouldn't have done it would he? Still got out early on parole though.

AngelsSins · 15/12/2017 18:30

You can slit your wife's threat from behind and still claim self defence:

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4555314/Husband-slit-wife-s-throat-cleared-murder.html (Sorry for the DM link but it's one of the few that actually mentioned that it was from behind, which I think is pretty relevant personally....)

Ereshkigal · 15/12/2017 09:25

I have come to the conclusion that there is no pile of bullshit so self-evidently false that it cannot be successfully used as a defence in a UK court of law by a man who wants to get off with charges of harming or killing a woman.

YY.

PricklyBall · 15/12/2017 08:18

Ever since a man was cleared of rape using the defence that he fell penis first into her vagina (Independent article here) I have come to the conclusion that there is no pile of bullshit so self-evidently false that it cannot be successfully used as a defence in a UK court of law by a man who wants to get off with charges of harming or killing a woman.

thecompletenonsequitur · 15/12/2017 01:28

Tired. May not have explained that ^ well.

thecompletenonsequitur · 15/12/2017 01:26

What exactly is 'unlawful killing' and how does it differ from 'murder'?

I think this is a Coronor's Court verdict. There is no one on trial for murder as he killid himself.

MakeMisogynyAHateCrime · 15/12/2017 01:08

Ugh just vile.

It reminds me of this from last year
www.theguardian.com/media/greenslade/2016/sep/01/how-a-murdered-woman-became-invisible-in-the-coverage-of-her-death

Lots of “that poor man” and “he was so vulnerable” across the press at the time.

Yep, came here to post "literally anything" but I see that's been said already.

Frequency · 14/12/2017 21:24

I have tinnitus on and off my entire life. To date, I've never killed anyone. There's been times when I was sorely tempted, but I LTB instead, it seemed the more sensible option.

It's abhorrent that men are still allowed to get away with this.

TheBatPig · 14/12/2017 21:21

In fact it does give the impression that men's ears are worth equal to an actual life. Else they wouldn't have fucking mentioned it

TheBatPig · 14/12/2017 21:19

That is horrific. And why mention the arseholes tinnitus? Other than an attempt to mitigate. I know a few people who suffer from tinnitus. No justification for murder. None at all. It's disgraceful reporting. Hateful against women

Well obviously any affair puts the man in role of tragic victim and the woman in the role of shameless hussy

Glowerglass · 14/12/2017 19:51

Absolutely anything.
