Does anyone live in Lily’s constituency?
It would be more credible to have a complaint from a constituent, would it not?

Legally this person, as it stands, is not a woman. The party rules say one must be a woman to take the role, ergo another woman is being gone out of a job and Lily is holding the role fraudulently.

How can we challenge this legally?

MentholBreeze · 11/12/2017 18:01

He can get it in his new name really easily and for - I've just looked it up - a statutory declaration (ie. a form letter that's been signed in front of a solicitor/notary) is all it takes to change name on a driving license.

I can't imagine it takes more than a 35 quid deed poll to change the name on your passport either (well, plus the 70 odd quid for the passport) and it's free to change your driving license name - so all in, for about 100 quid (or 3 nights out when I was a student)

AdalindSchade · 11/12/2017 17:37

He has ID (or can get it) but he wants it in his new name. Tough.

hazeyjane · 11/12/2017 16:34

Well, you need 2 photo IDs for a DBS check, and if you don't have them (because in reality lots of people don't drive or have a passport) you have to provide a millionty other pieces of ID - so it has to be possible to use other types of ID.

Could Lily maybe get an actual paying job??

newtlover · 11/12/2017 16:30

'I'm just a teenager'
which is pretty much what we are saying and why he can't take on an adult role never mind a women's one

MentholBreeze · 11/12/2017 16:28

3 photo ids for help from the council?

That's a load of rubbish surely

I mean, I do have 3, but one of them's an id card from another country, so not something most people in the UK would have - most people max out at passport, driving license, and perhaps a work id - photo credit cards never took off did they?

BeyondAssignation · 11/12/2017 16:28

"Liam, you have received a payment of 20p via PayPal"

Literally genocidal emails. Tut tut, paypal...

BeyondAssignation · 11/12/2017 16:26

He can also thank people for all the invisible donations, even if no one has made any. Promoting his 'cause' even more, so more people can donate...

hazeyjane · 11/12/2017 16:26

So the other day, Lily tweets...
There’s only so many times I can read lies or my deadname or misgendering. I’m just a teenager. Please just stop.
....unless that deadnaming is in the name of begging.

CunningOperative · 11/12/2017 16:16

How convenient that he 'doesn't know' how to set up a crowdfund (despite already having one Wink ). Also doesn't know that Paypal offers fundraising where the amount is visible. But this way nobody can see how much money he's been given so he can keep begging.

Definitely time for the World's Teeniest Violin.

BeyondAssignation · 11/12/2017 16:03

I don't have £129, nor do I have Oreos. :(

I'm definitely setting up some sort of crowd funder!!

This just takes the piss now
nauticant · 11/12/2017 14:41

I struggle to believe that Lily has three jobs as well as university and the Labour Party post.

I assumed the three "jobs" were:
Women's Officer
full time social media management
student

SparkleFizz · 11/12/2017 14:40

Are Labour officers allowed to ask for, or accept, personal donations?
If the screenshot talks about not being able to afford rental deposits then it’s clearly not fundraising on behalf of the Labour Party.

The company I used to work for - not a political organisation - had an ethics code of conduct that made it mandatory to declare gifts with a value over £5, and barred employees from accepting gifts over a certain higher value. All about avoiding the company being brought into disrepute by questions being raised about bribery, or corruption etc etc.
I’d assumed such rules were commonplace?

crazycatgal · 11/12/2017 14:31

Is there anybody we can complain to about this?

ArcheryAnnie · 11/12/2017 14:29

I struggle to believe that Lily has three jobs as well as university and the Labour Party post. I'm not saying it isn't possible to have three jobs (I had 4 when at university, neener neener) I just don't believe Lily has the discipline for it.

Thehairthebod · 11/12/2017 14:25

But after the GRA is passed you won't need any of those things will you, you can just say you are a woman or a man and it will be a universal irrefutable truth? And you can considered for things like 'Women's Officer'?

It seems that Labour has already got going with it. If Lily has no ID as 'Lily' then surely he is still Liam ie. A man ie. Not an eligible candidate for a women's officer?

BeyondAssignation · 11/12/2017 14:18

Just in case it needs saying, to get a grc you need to be (as I understand it)

  • over 18
  • having lived for two years as your "identified gender"
  • diagnosis of dysphoria

But I have a question... As I understand it, those two years have to be as an adult? Is that right? In which case it is impossible for Lily to be legally female, being 19. Unless of course Lily only identifies as 19 🙄

AdalindSchade · 11/12/2017 14:11

Liam claimed he was legally 'she'. This is a lie. Liam does not have a GRC. Liam is a man.

BatShite · 11/12/2017 14:03

This is why he has been on c4 and sky news. To get more donations. Calling it. after the 'rental deposit' is done, it will be something else. It makes so much sense now, his fight to be publicized. I guess the stories about him bullying the school did not bring in enough admirers..

pisacake · 11/12/2017 13:46

he probably won't pay any tax as he doesn't earn enough. but in theory yes it's fully taxable

QueenLaBeefah · 11/12/2017 13:37

Do you have to pay tax on money earned via Go-Fund me. Is it a charity?

Almahart · 11/12/2017 13:16

Is this actually a piece of performance art?
