Why do men use prostitutes?

Guardian have published a summary of a research project here

Men were asked what would put them off. A criminal record, an ASBO or their employer being told was the answer. Finding out the woman was pimped or coerced apparently not so much.
Not sure how that squares with the full decriminalisation model.

Because I think that women are worth more than the men who pay to rape them? Or because I think that men are perfectly capable of treating women like they're human beings and expect them to do so?

Some men pay to use women as masturbatory aids, I don't think they deserve my respect or courtesy, why do you think I should be nice about them?

If men paying women for sex, ignoring how that woman got there in the first place, going along with it anyway despite their suffering etc = hating women.

Eating meat for your own pleasure/using animal products, at the expense of the animals, and ignoring/doing nothing = hating animals.

A friend of mine used to work as an escort for a number of years after she left uni. She made good money and put on this front that she loved the job and the freedom it gave her etc. She eventually admitted how much she hated it and was completely burnt out from having to lead a double life and pretend like she was loving every second of it with her clients. I haven’t seen her for a while as she moved abroad and had a mental breakdown.
I remember her telling me that 99% of her clients were married men and did it because they were either not getting enough sex at home, bored of having sex with one person or just wanted to have sex with younger more attractive women than their wives. Sickening stuff!

My DS is a musician, if he ran the same risks at work of rape, murder and abuse as prostituted women do, there's no way he or most other musicians would have chosen it except as a last resort.

So, entirely different.

Many years ago I was a sex worker - sex for money. I wouldn't have sex without being paid, but no, it wasn't rape.
Think about a musician, a pianist or opera singer. All we care about is the service she provides.

I can't see a reason for MN to have taken it upon themselves to delete Danny's first post.

It was not a personal attack on anyone; it wasn't aggressive ; the ideas being expressed were stupid rather than offensive ( ok they were offensive but stupid was the prevailing odour coming through)

Do they think we can't cope ? Even if it were deliberately faux stupid I'm sure we can still cope.
