Feminism in prehistoric times / primitive culture

Hi. Is it possible in theory that any kind of feminist movement could conceivably have existed in prehistoric times or in any primitive culture? I don't mean matriarchal societies, I mean a feminist movement.

It still doesn't explain why, in other species that have been demonstrated to display empathy, there are so few males around.

Well, elephants and such apparently did not evolve to have more empathy for males than for females, and therefore get rid of the males to keep their female children safe.

With bonobos, a certain percentage of males vanish before reaching adulthood. Perhaps they kill off each other, perhaps they emigrate to a chimpanzee tribe ... who knows? (But I'd like to see that mystery solved.)

Although, I'd take a wild guess that the kind of man who copy/pastes screeds of utter bollocks that he incapable of defending probably wouldn't last long when pitted against miners and sewage workers, or in fact, anyone who has ever done a real job of work in their lives.

Probably not, but hey, the best genes would win. Evolution!

I wonder if any comments on this thread will be dragged off to some dingy, Cantina corner of the internet, taken out of context and used to demonstrate that "feminazis want to pit men in gladiatorial contests and think they are only useful for their sperm!"

I do feel a bit sorry for those men who have neither muscles nor intelligence, who feel like they are missing out on what the world owes them. But none of that is my fault. I wasn't put on this earth to please them.

It still doesn't explain why, in other species that have been demonstrated to display empathy, there are so few males around.

So, on a purely hypothetical level, we don't need men for anything but their sperm, so maybe they should go and do gladiatorial competitions on an island somewhere therefore proving their genes are the best quality ones for survival, and leave women to get on with the business of running civilisation without the whiff of testosterone?

Although, I'd take a wild guess that the kind of man who copy/pastes screeds of utter bollocks that he incapable of defending probably wouldn't last long when pitted against miners and sewage workers, or in fact, anyone who has ever done a real job of work in their lives.

I suppose they don't get rid of the dead weight because, in an evolutionary dead-end, women evolved too much empathy. Couldn't just send those giant children out to the harsh world to survive on their own.

Would we have managed to "breed out" the whining, entitled man children and ended up with men capable of cooking/looking after kids etc without debate or discussion?

Or would we have just ended up with bunch of over bred man beasts??

Agree with you 100% on wars btw Vestal.....there is no other reason apart from the multi billion dollar arms industry.....

squishysquirmy · 12/04/2017 11:16

Being able to tell the difference between a conversation and a monologue is also a big plus in my book.

LanaKanesLeftNippleTassle · 12/04/2017 11:15

I like your definition of "pertrified" squishy!

But yeah....men who think of themselves as the big alpha man really don't swing it for me either.....
I like a decent conversation too much to give a shit how they fill out a t shirt, or whether they can fix a boiler!

(take notes red pillers...)

VestalVirgin · 12/04/2017 11:13

How are wars efficient?

They are very efficient at killing off the excess population produced by patriarchy.
No one will ever be able to convince me that there is any other purpose to wars. (And those who tell me that wars are for land ... well, that proves my point does it not?)

The women get on with raising kids, getting firewood, finding the bulk of the food and water the tribe eats, and often seem to basically have the attitude that the men are just giant children who sometimes bring home meat.

That's probably it.

squishy
You win a weeks internment at a Red Pill re education camp, cos us laydees clearly are doing femininity wrong! Grin

Yeahb....DP took one look at the bastard thing and ran whimpering into the house....maybe I should tell him he's doing masculinity wrong as well! Grin

squishysquirmy · 12/04/2017 11:12

Although big sweaty muscles have never really done it for me.
I pertrify at intelligent, kind, funny men engaging in insightful conversation.

squishysquirmy · 12/04/2017 11:10

I pick A.
What do I win? Grin
"pertrified" sounds like something that happens to us primitive laydees when a manly hunter walks by;

"She pertrified at the sight of his rippling muscles."

quencher · 12/04/2017 11:07

Bollocks! I was looking forward to enjoying this thread.

LanaKanesLeftNippleTassle · 12/04/2017 11:07

*petrified!

Idon't know what "pertrified" is, but it sounds kinda cool!

LanaKanesLeftNippleTassle · 12/04/2017 11:06

("big man" in this case is utterly pertrified of wasps!)

LanaKanesLeftNippleTassle · 12/04/2017 11:05

A quick quiz.....

I just caught a queen wasp trying to nest in my shed...

Did I.....
a) Calmly get the elctric swat thing and chase it out the shed

or

b) Scream and squeal, wave my little feminine arms about and go and get a big man to do it for me?

LanaKanesLeftNippleTassle · 12/04/2017 11:03

The idea of those red pill keyboard warriors surviving and thriving in a stone age society is hilarious.

I know, right!?
The cognitive dissonance is strong in them.... Grin

squishysquirmy · 12/04/2017 11:01

... so incompetent was he, that even when he had hooked some fish, he promptly fell into the river. His swimming skills were severely hampered by being unable to tell his arse from his elbow, so this poor specimen of stone age masculinity drowned, and was not heard from again.

LanaKanesLeftNippleTassle · 12/04/2017 11:01

You want all the comforts and convenience of modern life, technology, medicine but you want to keep the bits of primitive life which suit you

Not forgetting the massively important and pivitol roles played by women in developing all that tech and medicine.....Marie Curie anyone?

LateDad · 12/04/2017 10:55

The OP had to fish several times, changing the bait each time. 5/10

(My primitive-man hunting skills are improving in troll spoor spotting on MN) Grin

peaceout · 12/04/2017 10:46

As for always going on how things work in primitive societies why don't you go and live a stone age life if you think it's so great?
In a might is right situation life is nasty brutish and short for most people men and women

LanaKanesLeftNippleTassle · 12/04/2017 10:43

Nah they never come back.

They drop their ridiculous ramblings onto the board, then fuck off, thinking they've put us all smartly in our place.

THE TRUTH IS OP AND ANY OTHER MORON READING THIS.....YOU MAKE YOURSELF LOOK WEAK AND PATHETIC WHEN YOU CAN'T DEBATE!

squishysquirmy · 12/04/2017 10:42

Yeah, they think monkeys have it sorted when they see the alpha males surrounded by females in the zoo, but it never occurs to them that they would be the scrawny male monkey hanging around at the bottom of the pecking order, unable to ever pass on his genes.

scalliondays · 12/04/2017 10:41

I was hoping 'larson' would come back - I haven't laughed so much at a thread for ages.

peaceout · 12/04/2017 10:40

You sound a actively delusional and quite angry op, perhaps get some psychiatric help?
