The BBC's political equivalent of Jeremy Kyle is hosting "has the time come to decriminalise sex work" tomorrow morning.

I'm going to be in the audience; if anyone wants to support the Nordic model voice via twitter please do!

There he goes, with a post that demonstrates, as predicted, that the above concept I outlined, a punter does not grasp.

GenderEqualityAdvocate · 03/04/2017 12:03

More and more hateful comments but hey ho that is the face of feminism and why many sex workers give up trying to engage with you.

GenderEqualityAdvocate · 03/04/2017 12:01

I find sex with prostitutes to be more honest than one night stands. I hate using women on one night stands and then having to put them on ignore.

With paid for sex you both enter it knowing it is purely for that moment. No upsets.

whoputthecatout · 03/04/2017 12:00

Oh dear. We've had punters on these threads who argue their corner and are simply rather pathetic, but is this the first time that we seem to be encountering a major psychiatric disorder. Gender whatever help you've had via tests, is clearly not working.

Beachcomber · 03/04/2017 11:59

Oh and that crap cliché about "paying her to go away".

That's the lie punters tell themselves. Yeah cos otherwise they would have women all over them desperate to be with them.

My fucking arse.

Punters don't pay women to go away. They pay them to come near.

This reversal also involves narcissism and not seeing women as real live humans.

You couldn't make it up.

GenderEqualityAdvocate · 03/04/2017 11:58

I would actually argue that prostitution has less of an affect on women now. With the internet there is no longer a visible presence needed so you and your children need never be exposed to it. Even your partners now will rarely walk past a prostitute on the street (in London anyway). It is nearly all out of sight and behind closed doors. Most of you in towns and cities will have dozens of sex workers within 5 minutes of your home and yet you remain blissfully unaware.

It can be managed in a far more responsible and safer manner.

You work under the perception that it is all about sex for men....Some, especially the married ones it is. Some men though like the company of prostitutes. We admire them. They are strong women who are not intimidated by men and male sexuality. That is why I go out to social gatherings with women from sex work forums.

Some of the greatest characters you ever see on film are sex workers. Yes the Julia Roberts character is a million miles from the truth but you have Elisabeth Shue (leaving Las Vegas) and then Patricia Arquette as Alabama Worley who has been described as one of the greatest female roles ever. These are complex, hardened and strong women and this is borne out in real life. Sex workers are often formidable and very complex women.

I am totally in awe of them.

goodpiemissedthechips · 03/04/2017 11:58

You would have to be a massive fucking narcissist to describe buying sex from women in prostituion as "no strings sex". This attitude shows that these women do not exist for the punter outside of his own want to wank in a woman.

Seriously. Uh, no-strings-attached sex is something that two people do together. Not that one person does to another one. That is a business transaction, exploitatation, and for the prostitute it's about as far from being no-strings sex as it could be.

Beachcomber · 03/04/2017 11:49

just get a kick out of no strings attached sex.

Did anyone else snort with derision at this?

This punter visitor to MN reveals more than he thinks with every post. Never seen one yet on MN who doesn't post like that.

You would have to be a massive fucking narcissist to describe buying sex from women in prostituion as "no strings sex". This attitude shows that these women do not exist for the punter outside of his own want to wank in a woman.

No strings sex is what people do when they actively and happily choose to have a one night stand or an ongoing enjoyable sexual relationship by two people who mutually want that and are honest with each other about it.

Having sex on prostituted women is about as far from " no strings sex" as it is possible to get. (Which is why decent men don't do it. Not because they can't but because they understand the above.)

FFS

I don't expect a punter to be able to grasp this concept as it involves empathy, seeing women as fully human, having a clue about sexual politics and not being a narcissist who thinks their dick is like really really important.

RufusTheRenegadeReindeer · 03/04/2017 11:40

You are not doing it from the goodness of your heart is my point

And you could be right (i dont think so but for the sake of the argument) it could be the worst thing in the world to do

But you are doing it because you like having sex with prostitutes

how and many others agree with your views because they are honestly concerned...not because they want to have sex with them

Many prositutes may agree with your views because it is their life

Many women and prostitutes dont agree with you, but thats not because they dont like sex...its because they are honestly concerned

AssassinatedBeauty · 03/04/2017 11:38

Why do you think people on this thread are puritanical?

AssassinatedBeauty · 03/04/2017 11:37

Disagree with you totally there, GEA (or should it be MRA?). Many different types of people object to prostitution, not only feminists.

Prostitution affects all women, as people on this thread have explained. You approve of the ECP stance on this because it happens to match your own totally self interested stance, and for no other reason. You have nothing but your own self deluding fantasy to "support" your argument.

RufusTheRenegadeReindeer · 03/04/2017 11:34

Women that you give money to for sex do you mean?

And that you want to keep paying for sex?

GenderEqualityAdvocate · 03/04/2017 11:27

I take my lead from them. Women who are informed and who know the reality. I give them my backing and support when they come up against people with puritanical beliefs who seek to shut them down

RufusTheRenegadeReindeer · 03/04/2017 11:21

Leave it to women who work in the industry to push for laws

Take your own advice and keep out of it then

GenderEqualityAdvocate · 03/04/2017 11:20

Only feminist for the most part shun sex work and are not comfortable paying so really it an area of society and human behaviour that you do not have much of an insight into and no real stake in. Leave it to women who work in the industry to push for laws. The ECP seem to be exactly the people who should be framing laws.

Maybe so, but you do at least concede that it rarely happens so 1 in a 100 or maybe 1 in 1000. Point is even if it is a rarity and you see maybe one prostitute in your life then maybe there is little risk but if you do it again and again the chances of you meeting such a person becomes a mathematical certainty. I wouldn't want to take that risk personally.

I missed your earlier post about how without sex with prostitutes would leave you depressed and suicidal. What on earth has gone wrong in your life that has left you in such desperate need to self medicate with a sex addiction? If you wish you can message me and if I can I'll do my best to help you.

AssassinatedBeauty · 03/04/2017 10:50

Here's an idea, don't use prostitutes if you're concerned about your physical safety.

Funnily enough, being concerned about men who use prostitutes safety is nowhere near even the bottom of my list of things to care about.

GenderEqualityAdvocate · 03/04/2017 10:46

Now that is a good angle to take this. Risk. Also a reason why I advocate safer establishments for all.

You see this from the woman's side but have you ever imagined how it is for a guy entering an unknown premises or hotel room not knowing what awaits. It is dangerous. Guys get robbed beaten up, sexually assaulted and blackmailed. You never know if a boyfriend is going to beat you up or stab you. I have had a woman pull a condom off midway and then force unprotected vaginal sex on me. It was sexual assault but of course I cannot go to the police.

As a 10 stone, 5'6 guy I am an easy target for anyone who wants to harm and rob me.

Safety for women means safety for all.

MercyMyJewels · 03/04/2017 10:43

What sort of man comes on to a women's site to tell us how we are intolerant of his desire to pay for sex? Not any man I would want to know. Do fuck off back to your pond

GenderEqualityAdvocate · 03/04/2017 10:38

Dervel you should really spend time around some sex workers. They are rarely "vulnerable and exploited". The ones I know have big houses, no mortgage, nice car, posh clothes and multiple holidays. If I was to talk about them as you do they would quickly put me right. In fact most of them if you piss them off are pretty good at handling themselves and would probably just knee you in the bollocks or punch you out.

They are strong confident women who do not enjoy being labelled "victims".

ChocChocPorridge · 03/04/2017 10:37

Good guy? Where have I tried to say I am one of those? I am being honest and upfront about what is a selfish, ego driven activity.

Well, you started off in the thread making out it was all about women's safety, carried on with that you're helping these women who are in poverty, then further that some of them actually like you and want to go to lunch with you - you're certainly trying to paint some kind of picture that doesn't reflect reality.

I think that probably grabbing hold of someone's hand and jumping off a building with them would be quite an adrenaline rush too, or driving a motorbike fast (something I've personally done, and look back on with horror at the danger I was putting myself and other people in). I think that lots of things are adrenaline rushes, but if they hurt other people, that makes them bad things to do, and makes the people who do them (hurt other people for an adrenaline rush) sound like the sociopaths they clearly are.

I'm a mother - I'm fairly au fait with sex, and the risks that I would be taking having sex with strangers - which are significantly higher than yours I might add.

Dervel · 03/04/2017 10:16

Is it entirely wise to cut off emotions and compartmentalise in any circumstance where you may come across someone vulnerable and exploited? And also a bit horrible if you end up putting your dick in them?

scallopsrgreat · 03/04/2017 09:56

This place is a bastion of intolerance and hatred. Says the person who is quite willing to abuse women.

GuardianLions · 03/04/2017 09:41

I thought he just had 'goady fucker' disorder
I now agree and see MRA aping TRA 'I'll top myself you murdeers! ' bs.
I still think there is something amiss though- he maybe trying to disclose NPD with all that 'poor impulse control' lingo.
