We are asked, do you ever get weirdly conscious of your labia?

God yes! That is a brilliant way of describing it.

Another reason why the whole 'solidarity' of women and transwomen that some feminists like to push, leaves such a sour taste. We're not the same, and even when they drill right down into what it means to be a woman and display some kind of unity, it comes across as creepy as fuck.

I don't know if having gender dysphoria precludes people from having AGP, but I do know it's highly prevalent. From reading websites, if you have hormone treatment, it lessens the sexual compulsion. Which is something at least.

AnyFucker · 17/03/2017 10:26

Read the first link. Utterly grim. It makes my skin crawl. And Elendon you sound like one of those brain dead transmaidens in the comments section. For God's sake, think.

Elendon · 17/03/2017 10:26

And the OMG! so many products to choose from! If you were undergoing GRS you may wanted to have known this beforehand? Or you may have bought some Tampax for your partner when you were a man?

QuentinSummers · 17/03/2017 10:23

Eeewww. Did anyone watch the "lesbian sex with a transgender woman". So creepy. So creepy. Going on about how young her "really good friend" is. I really feel for the poor young lesbian. Ugh

Bundesliga · 17/03/2017 10:18

Datun
Yes, exactly.

I think it is the deconstruction and disembodiment of woman that is so disturbing. In that regard it is almost a type of mental violence - disembodied deconstructed women. The ultimate objectification.

MercyMyJewels · 17/03/2017 10:16

That Youtube link. WTF?

But even the 'reverence' feels like a weirdly detached lip-service: 'oh, respec to the cis - hey ho, glad it's not me.'

Datun · 17/03/2017 10:12

Yeah, it has it horrible double whammy dichotomy to it.

It obsesses and reveres women's biology to what feels like a violating degree. Which then makes you feel like you have to actively play down and denigrate your own biology to counter the whole 'celebration'.

To me at least, it really muddies the waters over the fact that women are disadvantaged by their biology.

ShotgunNotDoingThePans · 17/03/2017 10:09

Also, what Elendon said.

ShotgunNotDoingThePans · 17/03/2017 10:08

Oh god that link, glad I didn't read the first one. How chucklingly hilarious that 'cis' women have to cope with tampons and have all the blood and stuff as well. Still - on with the day eh?
Totally missing the point that if anyone tried to insert a tampon when there was no period would feel discomfort.

Elendon · 17/03/2017 10:07

The whole point about tampons was if you can feel it then it's not been pushed up far enough. You had to then take it out, discard and push in higher.

I preferred slim pads once they came onto the market. As do many millions of other women who are able to access sanitary protection.

Barcoo2 · 17/03/2017 10:02

I've been feeling my labia, having gained a prolapse after the birth.

Sorry, i should have put a trigger warning about my cisprivilege, as only Real Women get prolapses.

Bundesliga · 17/03/2017 09:59

And thanks for the link but god I wish I hadn't watched it.

Bundesliga · 17/03/2017 09:58

Thanks, datun

It's really quite sinister. And I actually find it quite depressing it maybe that's just my mood. Like someone said before, you aren't colonising fucking Mars, you can't just plant a flag and call it yours, you can't take our woman hood.

And I never "bonded" with a woman over my period. FFS.

Datun · 17/03/2017 09:49

Bundesliga

Yes it's AGP. A fetishising of and unhealthy interest in women's bodies and biology.

Like this.

I don't know about you, but I think the entire selling point of Tampax is that you can go about your every day life without feeling it.

Elendon · 17/03/2017 09:47

I'm never weirdly conscious of my labia, but I do love it. Sometimes I shift a bit when sitting and get the gorgeous warm tingly feeling of labia rubbing on clitoris. This doesn't happen often.

Em sending best wishes to you. Flowers

ChocChocPorridge · 17/03/2017 09:47

choc, sorry but I snorted at your boob in the bain-marie

I'm still not quite sure how I managed it TBH - I think I must have got distracted at the point I was lifting it up (oven under counter, so you had to bend down to get anything out) and not extended my arms far enough, so I brought the tray up underneath them... it's just another in the long list of ridiculous small injuries I do myself. At least I'm not DP - he's locked himself in the bathroom 3 times (different bathrooms, different escape routes each time too - he once fashioned a screwdriver from shampoo bottle to escape!).

YetAnotherSpartacus · 17/03/2017 09:37

I'm honestly curious ... do you think that men are conscious of their dicks and balls in the same way that the author of the above is conscious of their labia? Men are weird creatures and do seem to adjust, fiddle and the like more than women. Of course, it could be that there are nerve endings there that they have that make these areas potentially more present to them and all that. I didn't think labia had many nerve endings? Might be wrong? Anyway, maybe old habits die hard?

I'm truly sorry Em. I hope that you are doing OK. Flowers

Bundesliga · 17/03/2017 09:22

*is this

Bundesliga · 17/03/2017 09:21

So, is the AGP?

Because it's very creepy.

FrenchLavender · 17/03/2017 08:55

labia not laid

FrenchLavender · 17/03/2017 08:55

They need to ask for their money back. they obviously got duff substandard laid, but I guess that will happen when they aren't real, bait like the way some people's fake tits go wrong.

As far as I am aware no woman is aware of feeling (or feeling aware of) the labia she was born with simply by walking from A to B (unless perhaps she's just given birth.) This person obviously got the Barratt Homes of Labia builders and they should go back and ask for the snagging list to be sorted out. Get a little trim.

RufusTheSpartacusReindeer · 17/03/2017 08:49
Thanks
Xenophile · 17/03/2017 07:57

The whole article smacks of AGP, and then in the comments you see why.

In between the wank bank descriptions women are giving the author about their bodies, someone talks about "reaching their cronage" which I suppose is code for menopause and the author describes how difficult they are finding aging. The piece is basically a begging letter for women to validate their aging lady body. And they are simply cooing over all the women coming to tell them about their bodies.

Grim.

PoochSmooch · 17/03/2017 07:36

The only time I'm ever aware of my labia is if I'm trying on a pair of trousers that are too short in the waist so that an acre of material tries to cram itself between them.

Oh, and there was the multi day cycle thing where I had a blister on one of them...and it popped...

choc, sorry but I snorted at your boob in the bain-marie Grin
