They come up with this.

First post - Why Transwomen Aren't Biologically Male.

The comments are encouraging though, that is, the ones that haven't been deleted. Lots of people questioning and calling this out.

That video is heartening and galling at the same time because it's a Fox News Anchor say this stuff. I can't see anyone on the BBC challenging anyone in the same way.

Why? Why? Why are we being forced to align ourselves with these people? I fundamentally disagree with them on so much of their other rhetoric. I suppose they feel the same way mind, in fact I think I saw the same guy interviewing a Feminist about this subject and he was pretty incredulous that he had agreed with her.

venusinscorpio · 26/02/2017 11:41

Literally no one socialises boys who think they are girls in the same way as actual girls. The only way this could happen is if people genuinely weren't aware of the child's biological sex at all.

VestalVirgin · 26/02/2017 11:36

'socialised' is something that's done to you not something you feel inside. You can't be socialised as something other people can't see or don't know.

Yeah. Me feeling like a boy wouldn't have made the teachers in school praise me more, let me talk more and take what I say more seriously. Teachers don't even know they do this, so how would a child even notice and, uh, choose to not feel "meant" by the praise? Huh?

If you're feeling depressed by the way the trans lobby seem to be sweeping all before them, watch this video. It's a Fox News anchor (surprising, huh?) doing an amazing logical take down of a DNC trans rights advocate.

It's always the same. It's only ever men who get to be gender critical in the media. Gender critical women get death threats, get no platformed and get shouted down.

Even so, watching it cheered me up. How many Americans will have had their eyes opened?

theoracleofdelphi · 25/02/2017 22:50

The bottom line - you’re not obligated to associate with a narcissist or sociopath just because they belong to a protected class

WhereYouLeftIt · 25/02/2017 19:54

Exactly riobruins. Now they're trying to change the meaning of 'socialised'. If society sees a boy, they treat the child as a boy, so you're socialised as a boy. Children don't have a choice in how they are socialised.

riobruins · 25/02/2017 18:58

I've just read a comment saying trans women are not socialised as males, because they identify as women so have been socialised as women and that they do not have male privilege or a male dominant attitude.

How even, what. How on earth could someone believe that.

Redrocketship · 25/02/2017 18:11

But "cis" women also feel jealous of other women! It's perfectly normal! That's how they justify it.

Difference is I don't know many women who's first reaction to envying another woman's figure is to be so consumed with rage that she wants hurt or rape the woman in question (what else is hating someone so much that you want to have "angry, passionate sex" with her supposed to mean?) and then spend extended amounts of time crying about it. Those are the actions of mentally unstable, dangerous people.

The worrying thing is, these sentiments aren't uncommon in the trans community. That's scary

theoracleofdelphi · 25/02/2017 17:35

Absolutely not! I don't want a stranger with a penis watching me shower and change!

MercyMyJewels · 25/02/2017 17:15

That jealousy link is seriously alarming. And we are unreasonable foe not wanting to share changing rooms? I don't fucking think so

WhereYouLeftIt · 25/02/2017 16:20

Yes they do whoputthecatout. And they're not being given any help, just told that their feelings of rage and jealousy are absolutely normal. What a way to live Sad.

whoputthecatout · 25/02/2017 15:41

Those posts all point to people who have serious mental problems.

WhereYouLeftIt · 25/02/2017 15:14

transgenderreality.com/tag/jealousy/. Wow, that is scary. Scary and heartbreaking. Such anger and rage and unhappiness.

But also - so clear that they do not see women as individual people. They look at women and see something two-dimensional, having it 'easy', no problems. They do not see them as individuals with self-esteem issues, crap jobs, bad relationships - normal lives. No, they see them as some amorphous group having doors opened for them and waking up as girls with 'no effort'(!?!) and soft skin.

We are not real people at all to those who posted these comments.

SoulSearcher101 · 25/02/2017 14:19

I think this would set trans activists into a tail spin, the story is about how breast milk adapts to the needs of an unwell baby: www.goodtoknow.co.uk/family/548286/chelsea-pryce-viral-breast-milk-post?utm_campaign=GTKgeneric&utm_source=Facebook&utm_medium=Social&utm_term=main

CaroleService · 25/02/2017 13:05

Some pretty heartbreaking ones too. Can't help feeling that the resentment of, and anger towards, women is displacement for self hatred.

Wouldn't it be better to celebrate being a transwoman and live that to the full than angrily, resentfully aspiire for the unachievable? To accept being a slightly separate category but glorious in its own right? How much tension between radfems, libfems and the translobby would fall away.

Glitteryunicorn · 25/02/2017 01:17

There are some horrific comments on there

I'll be back with words when I decide how I feel about it....

kua · 24/02/2017 23:23

Well said scissors

Bambambini · 24/02/2017 23:07

transgenderreality.com/tag/jealousy/

Yes, some TW talk about the hate and jealousy they sometimes feel for women.

SoulSearcher101 · 24/02/2017 22:47

Just had a look at the Gender Identity petition that is doing the rounds - almost 10,000 signatures: citizengo.org/en-gb/pc/41304-say-not-dangerous-gender-identity-bill?tc=fb&tcid=32808372

Scissorcisters · 24/02/2017 21:22

Trans women don't have wombs, vulvas, ovaries, they can't get pregnant, or feed children from their breasts. Of course these words trigger them, it reminds them they're male. The human race has an innate urge to reproduce, we cannot be replaced at this moment in time. We create with life with men and give birth to human beings. Our bodies are amazing. They want to be us, but can never be us, so hate us. They can go after our rights, bully us, imitate us, demonise us (terfs) do what ever they want. They can push their agenda with the liberal left, get access to our safe spaces but they are not female, and that fuels their rage. We should pity them really.

Apologies for the complete lack of appropriate punctuation in that post, hopefully it doesn't offend your eyes. Blush

Glitteryunicorn · 24/02/2017 19:47

Most of the articles I've read that are pro trans sound like they've been written by 12 year old Hmm

My favourite part
How to be a good ally listen first, then speak do not speak over

How to be a good TA speak over everyone, keep speaking, if anyone else dare speak call them a TERF and make vile and violent threats....give the good allies who STFU and make sympathetic noises while you speak over them a pat on the head but keep reminding them of their cis privilage and cisexist possession of a vagina and breasts at every opportunity just in case they forget your talking so no one else gets to talk.

So one thing I've been thinking about if the gender identity bill goes through and they do get access to female toilets will we then be forced to remove San Pro dispensers from women's toilets? Because seeing it everytime they just want to pee will be triggering etc.?
If you are in the bathroom with your friend having a normal conversation centered around your biology which thousands of women must have everyday
Will I be called a bigot if I mention my bodily functions while a Trans woman is in the vacinity within a female space?
Will we have to police our cisexist conversations while in the bathroom? Because once they have access that's not going to be enough is it and where will it end?

Gaslighting.
