They come up with this.

First post - Why Transwomen Aren't Biologically Male.
www.facebook.com/everydayfeminism/

The comments are encouraging though, that is, the ones that haven't been deleted. Lots of people questioning and calling this out.

Often yes. But basically I think it means dressing up porn and the sex industry as "empowering" to women. And centring men in everything.

TalkingintheDark · 12/02/2017 19:27

venus just lolled at your comment above. I'm with you there.

I just entered a whole new world reading that. Got a horrible feeling it's actually very similar to the old world, in all the worst ways. Fuck. Am speechless!

Did anyone else notice that fun-loving "not biologically male" "lesbian" Riley is 6'4""?

Twunk · 12/02/2017 19:25

What does "sex positive" mean? Kinky?

whoputthecatout · 12/02/2017 19:13

Well, they all sound very confused to me. They must find it very difficult to decide who they are on any one day.

venusinscorpio · 12/02/2017 19:08

"She enjoys rainy days, tattoos, and cats, and probably knows more about Jurassic Park than feminism"

Yes indeed Melissa A Fabello, Managing Editor of Everyday Feminism, I would lay money that that is the case.

LineysRun · 12/02/2017 18:57

to Pseuds Corner

LineysRun · 12/02/2017 18:57

I could send all of that Pseuds Corner in the Eye and get it published.

Also note the lack of real education among these people, degrees in completely nonsensical made-up studies. I remember we arts grads used to get teased about the relative uselessness of our degrees but they were in actual subjects like history, literature and languages not an "M.Ed in Human Sexuality" or a "Masters of Comics". Confused

shins · 12/02/2017 18:36

Oh dear god that reads like some kind of satire. Don't any of these people have the slightest bit of humour or self-awareness?

Actually I have earlier experience of po-faced American identity politics -I used to belong to an "alternative" parenting online community in the late 90s/early 00s -there was a small breakaway closed group for the saner people later and I have friends from that group to this day. But the original group...everyone was an extended bf'ing attachment parenting non circing vegan bisexual tattooed womyn. Nobody could ever just say "Hi I'm Jill". That was a long time ago; now they would have to add their many genders and binary/cis status as well.

mirrorisnotmyfriend · 12/02/2017 18:35

WTF is a person with multiple marginalized identities? Is she like James McAvoy in Split?

I think I'd last about five minutes in a room with these people before my head imploded.

One admin would be a very low guess...

everydayfeminism.com/about-ef/about-the-team/

mirrorisnotmyfriend · 12/02/2017 18:20

When you read down the EF page, I'd say 1 out of 3 stories are about trans issues, the others about race and disability and other issues, literally nothing about feminist issues such as FGM, menstruation, contraception. They can't post about stuff like that any more as it will incite the rage of the transborg and I suspect at least one of the admins is trans.

venusinscorpio · 12/02/2017 17:58

Did you put that on there? Grin

shins · 12/02/2017 17:56

Counting down the minutes til I get deleted...

Can I identify as a hyena or would that just be flaunting my cisspecies privilege?

venusinscorpio · 12/02/2017 17:05

These people "curate" their social media, only hang out in SJW echo chambers and stick their fingers in their ears when they come across a slightly dissenting opinion, however reasonable and respectfully expressed. Only stopping to wail "who let in all the transphobes". They have convinced themselves that the blithering idiocy they spout actually makes sense.

VestalVirgin · 12/02/2017 16:54

Apparently hyenas have a "non binary gender construct".

Yeah, they do. Along with cats, dogs and every animal on earth.

... wait, no. They have NO binary gender construct. Because, being animals, they do not have any stupid fucking gender construct at all, they just have biological, actual sex, and that's it!

(Granted there are animals where some males pretend to be female and mate with males to secretly get access to females in another male's harem. But as their genes make them appear like females, I would say that is a variety on the male sex genetics rather than a gender construct.)

YorkshireTree · 12/02/2017 15:51

Rebecca is doing well not to tell them to fuck off. That one bloke who was saying some produce ova and some sperm but so what? Way to erase the MASSIVE struggles women have had directly related to our reproductive function.

MaryTheCanary · 12/02/2017 14:48

That's one heck of a neck erection.

venusinscorpio · 12/02/2017 14:38

Am absolutely PMSL at the comedy tropes thread where Everyday Fuckwitticism themselves managed to accidentally misgender a transwoman!
