Can you imagine a climate change denier/sceptic being put onto a climate change committee? Or someone who is anti science being put onto a Science and Technology committee?

He's a cock. He makes no apology for it either.

He spoke at a conference in the summer where a rape victim's name was repeatedly mentioned and tweeted out under the conference hashtag. He did nothing.

I had the misfortune of living in his constituency for a while. He's a monumental bellend at the best of time, he'll have a field day with this appointment.

In the article it says that it was a Conservative party appointment, so it was done by a internal Conservative party ballot (presumably just the MPs). But... he was apparently unopposed. So no other Conservative MP stood for it.

I don't know how you get chosen for that committee - or any other tbh.

I guess someone high up agrees the wimmin have gone too far.

was it garlic who recently announced she was giving up on feminism? I don't think I can just yet but I feel like it ain't far off...
