Her article re stalkers and trolls is horrifying

Jean, if you are reading, I think you are wonderful for starting the petition for the Ched Evans' complainant and for all the work you have done. Please know that I am thinking of you. Stay strong

Jean I have just read your article Flowers
please do not feel you have to leave here.

Anlaf · 16/04/2018 09:24

Hi- I've reported this poster to MNHQ. He's posting as Vonnywatts on this thread:

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/3200426-Jean-Hatchet-harassed-for-riding-for-murdered-women

Welcome to MN Jean Flowers

BigChocFrenzy · 16/04/2018 08:22

Oops, your link has a typo.

This one should work:

https://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/jean-hatchet/when-a-man-stalks-a-womanbb_12653806.html

BigChocFrenzy · 16/04/2018 08:18

So sorry that swine is still stalking you, Jean Thanks

Just pick any of his posts and report, give the message that he is your stalker, then MNHQ would probably ban him quite soon.
They check IP number etc for banned posters, so will ban him again if he uses the same; otherwise just keep reporting him the instant you spot him

We'll report too, if you give the name - MNHQ react more quickly if several people report a poster.

LangCleg · 16/04/2018 08:16

Solidarity, Jean. Do let us know who this miscreant is, so that we can report him too.

LizzieSiddal · 16/04/2018 07:59

Jean as Suburban says, there are 3 little dots on the bottom right hand side of each post. Click on them and then on Report!

If you also post on the actual thread, that this person is stalking you, other posters will report too. The more who report, the better.

DisturblinglyOrangeScrambleEgg · 16/04/2018 07:55

Doh! I should refresh before posting!

I'll use this message to state my appreciation for what you do as well Jean Thanks

DisturblinglyOrangeScrambleEgg · 16/04/2018 07:54

Or on my iPhone app it's an arrow on the right and you swipe it and it'll show the report button

Jeanhatchet · 16/04/2018 07:51

Ahhh I have to swipe across the screen to get it! Cheers women!

Writersblock2 · 16/04/2018 07:47

I’m so sorry you are having to deal with this.

SuburbanRhonda · 16/04/2018 07:44

Jean, on the mobile app there are three little dots in the right hand side of each post. Tap them and a menu will appear. One of the options is report.

AngryAttackKittens · 16/04/2018 07:38

On his posts, I mean, not yours.

AngryAttackKittens · 16/04/2018 07:37

If you look directly across from your name to the right what do you see, Jean? There should be the word "Report" there, in between "Add message" and "Message poster". Click on that and it should allow you to report the post.

If he escalates to sending you direct messages you can also block him from doing so, just let us know if you need help doing that.

Jeanhatchet · 16/04/2018 07:35

Thanks @AngryAttackKittens and @rowdywoman1 .... don't know if it's my app but I can't see a button? Do I need to be on a laptop?

DamnDeDoubtanceIsSpartacus · 16/04/2018 07:26

Men get so cross when women speak out, so often this abuse is tolerated by society. women are told to calm down, stay offline, keep their tongues still. Smile

rowdywoman1 · 16/04/2018 07:06

Jean, I am so sorry that you are still being harassed.
There's a report button at the top of every post - mumsnet are usually quick to delete inappropriate posts and will ban posters who repeatedly flout the rules.
After some challenging time recently, posters on this board are trying to adopt Michele Obama's mantra - 'When they go low, We go high', so you will see often see reminders of #WTGLWGH after goading or inflammatory posts

AngryAttackKittens · 16/04/2018 07:02

Next time he posts just make it clear who he is so others can report and get him banned. MNHQ will not want their site being used as a part of his ongoing harassment towards you.

Jeanhatchet · 16/04/2018 07:01

Here's info on the troll and his bizarre behaviour. It was 2016! He's the same. I'm very different. I don't care about him.

He is still obsessed with me enough to spot me joining Mumsnet hours after I do. Confused

https://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/jean-hatchet/when-a-man-stalks-a-womanbb_12653806.html

Jeanhatchet · 16/04/2018 06:58

Sorry to highlight this post again. I joined Mumsnet yesterday and immediately the troll I wrote about has found me. I won't engage with him. He is still posting the same nonsense. It's troll word soup. Names and stock phrases of dribble about people no one knows. The threat to me is zero nowadays. No one really cares about coming to hurt me. No one but him. I raise money despite his trolling and attempts to sabotage. So I'm not here for sympathy. Please don't give him the gravity of having any effect on me. I don't give him any thought these days.

I don't really understand Mumsnet. No idea how to report.

But .... crucially he is so insane and desperate to stop me helping women he is still revealing the name of rape victims. He can write whatever nonsense he likes about me. I genuinely don't care.

I do care about him using this platform to expose the names of those victims with protected anonymity. And doing it because I'm here makes me feel responsible. On Twitter I block the mere smell of him. I can see that here I'm not able to do that.

I'm happy if you all just ignore him. It really is the best way. I won't even give him a name here as he is too pathetic for words. My advice is not to engage. Just ignore. If it looks like weird drivel that has no relevance in response to a post I make.... that will be him.

I'll stay as long as I can.

SootSprite · 01/11/2016 08:21

I support you too Jean.

You are an inspiration.

LyndaNotLinda · 30/10/2016 11:12

I'm so sorry you're getting all this misogynist bile thrown at your and your daughter Jean. It's absolutely despicable and it terrifies me how much some men hate women.

You are a brave woman and an inspiration to the rest of us. Thank you Flowers

PreemptiveSalvageEngineer · 30/10/2016 10:52

I support you, Jean Hatchett.

I'm aghast, of course, at the nastiness of the 2-year troll. I think any sane person would be! But I also have to wonder, what kind of a shit spends so much time doing that? Does he not have a job, friends, family, anything to otherwise occupy him?

And such long-term dedication to making one woman's life hell (or trying to - I adore Jean her resilience). (I'm assuming just her, because if he stalks further women, again, where the hell does he get the time?!?!?...)

I was just re-reading Thud. And just got past a part (mind, Pratchett says it often): if they want to kill you, you're doing something right.

paddypants13 · 29/10/2016 22:16

I just don't understand why these men are so full of hatred and bile towards someone they have never met. I almost feel sorry for them and their sad little lives. Then I remember their victims and I just feel disgust towards the trolls.

BigChocFrenzy · 29/10/2016 21:00

You are a great feminist hero, Jean
So sorry to hear about the horrific harassment you have suffered, especially from your main stalker

Thank you so much for fighting to support vulnerable women Flowers
