I seem to be hitting #PeakTrans on a daily basis now and thought it would be useful to have another general thread to discuss/post/share

If you haven't seen Magdalen Berns' recent blog post it's really worth a look

IBelieve that is a good article, thanks for the link.

This is an excellent article on transgenderism from a gay man's perspective

There is another excellent article on genderapostate.com called Colonizers vs Defectors which puts extremely articulately about why it really does need to be about widening the bandwidth of what it means to be male.

StatisticallyChallenged · 04/11/2016 21:26

In case any of you haven't seen it, there's a thread on Glamour magazines latest article, where a TW of 1 year tells women how to be feminists...

OlennasWimple · 04/11/2016 21:08

Love that link - this quote (from the second article down) should be printed in big letters and sent to all MTT TRAs

"Surely it is down to us to widen the bandwidth of being male and addressing the issues of masculine men who see us as weak, perverts and queer? These are the questions not being addressed by trans women and I feel they would have better lives for asking those questions and demanding that masculine men stop acting like dicks."

Prawnofthepatriarchy · 04/11/2016 20:51

There's a report on the man who attacked him here.

Datun · 04/11/2016 20:07

Actually that's true ! I saw it more as defending, not participating.

BenLinusatemyhomework · 04/11/2016 19:50

I thought it was a very interesting dynamic that some transwomen feel free to sexually assault other transwomen.

Of course this is now women assaulting women. You can take the man out of sexual violence but you can't take the sexual violence out of the man.

Datun · 04/11/2016 18:24

BenLinusatemyhomework

Loved that link !!

WankingMonkey · 04/11/2016 18:19

Well here I am at this first meeting and from the very start it just came across as men in dresses feeling sorry for themselves and blaming biological women for everything. Then all of a sudden one Trans women lifted up her skirt to reveal his underwear. I was alarmed that someone would do that in a public place as it’s not the done thing and more importantly why on earth would you want to show off your dirty panties anyway?

Interesting insider view there...

ArcheryAnnie · 04/11/2016 18:11

BenLinus someone like that is really walking the walk - dressing however the fuck they want without demanding that women accomodate them. Hats off.

StatisticallyChallenged · 04/11/2016 17:59

He doesn't pull any punches does he! Love that someone called him a transphobe too...

BenLinusatemyhomework · 04/11/2016 16:19

Smashinggenderchange.wordpress.com - an interesting article written about by a gender nonconforming man about his experiences in transgender support groups and his observations on how lesbians are treated/talked about by the trans community.

Prawnofthepatriarchy · 03/11/2016 20:48

So it is. Oh, I am pleased! Have just read all the entries and will have to get myself on tumblr to send supportive messages.

marvelousdcomics · 03/11/2016 13:27

It's back!!!!

marvelousdcomics · 03/11/2016 13:10

I know, Enid Sad Dd was upset about that

CharlieSierra · 03/11/2016 08:25

Did anyone watch the trans American road trip? I didn't see the whole thing, but was particularly offended by a Brian, sometimes Bree who commented that trans is the last taboo now we've cleared up women's rights, racism, gay rights etc. His long suffering wife was present. He was clearly a cross dresser, a man with a fetish. I turned it off as I'd had a hard day and didn't want to be wound up at bedtime.

Prawnofthepatriarchy · 03/11/2016 00:18

Oh no, Enid. That's sad. Wonder why? Sad

It's coming to something when you have to rely on that kind of outlet to report this stuff really.

Felascloak · 02/11/2016 20:39

Yeah I know. In this case it's a summary of what's on the Web though. Google Tia Star Bath for details. If you can stomach it

M0stlyHet · 02/11/2016 20:17

I have to say, I am uncomfortable with using Breitbart as a source. They are virulently fascist, and would probably publish articles about "blood libel" if they thought they could get away with it.

marvelousdcomics · 02/11/2016 14:28

And yes, redrocket, I'm also really glad they kept the women safe

marvelousdcomics · 02/11/2016 14:27

So again, I put this in my other thread but this one is way more active and thought maybe you'd want to know if you didn't already.

(from other thread):
'Umm. So, after quick park trip and McDonalds lunch, dd rushed to refresh the GCT website and they've mentioned mumsnet.'

The Spartacus thread. Personally I wasn't on it but have seen it. DD is over the moon they've posted again (strange child). I posted the link to it up above on pp ^^
