Evans claimed they had threesomes before and described McDonald as "a good looking guy". When mcdonald left the room, Evans lost his erection and stopped...hmmm

Queenoftheblues · 19/10/2016 20:11

I've always thought there was something homosexual about men 'sharing' a girl, as in men in the closet using it as a reason to get near other men's bodies.

venusinscorpio · 19/10/2016 19:38

That's a really good point about the oral sex, it's not unbelievable, but he probably should have been questioned further about it. She was put through the ringer about her sexual history and behaviour, why shouldn't he be?

Queenoftheblues · 19/10/2016 19:32

On another note two things concern me.
Evans said he watched McDonald have sex with the victim and after she asked Evans to perform oral sex on her which he did. Anyone think it odd he would want to taste his mates cock/sperm?
Also McDonald left the room as Evans was on the girl but told reception to keep an eye on her as she was ill. Why would he risk his mate being seen in the room by concerned staff?
Something doesn't add up here.

Marbleheadjohnson · 19/10/2016 16:37

Probably the kind of dad who sees nothing wrong with playing away and it's a girlfriend's / fiance's / wife's job to accept their partner's indiscretions with quiet good grace. I wonder, for example, how he treated her mother.

Birdandsparrow · 19/10/2016 16:28

I can kind of understand or imagine the thought process of thinking CE didn't rape as demonstrated by all the IAmChed# dicks ("she was asking for it, she's a whore") I can see there are men who think like that, but I don't get why Massey wouldn accept CE "disrespecting" his daughter by shagging a girl in a hotel room even if he only saw it as infidelity. What kind of dad thinks it's OK for his son in law to cheat on his daughter?

Queenoftheblues · 19/10/2016 16:17

Self made millionaires are a strange bunch. Evans was a trophy to Massey, wealthy and able to support his beauty therapist daughter. I'm guessing dad didn't want to be bailing out his daughter for the rest of his life. Millionaires like to keep hold of their cash. I bet Evans will be paying off pops for some time to come. And evans will play loyal boyfriend for a few years but will be sticking it somewhere he shouldn't.

KindDogsTail · 19/10/2016 16:13

“Drunken consent is nevertheless still consent.

“While disinhibited through drink the woman did consent to sex, firstly with Clayton McDonald and then with Ched Evans.”

This just drives me mad. In practice it means a drunk girl is allowed to be raped. She can't win either way: either it was still consent/she was just dis-inhibted. Or, she can't remember anyway (because she was drunk or drugged)so her testimony must be unreliable/she was drunk, so her testimony must be unreliable.

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 19/10/2016 16:07

But Massey really is in a league of his own.

Even the worst "daddy of a princess" who couldn't give a toss about other people's daughters usually makes an exception when it's his own princess being treated badly.

NinjaFeminist · 19/10/2016 16:01

I think it tells us that Karl Massey hates women. I don't think the reasons are that much more complicated. Anyone who spends that amount of money on someone who behaved so appallingly towards a vulnerable young women & by extensive showed a breath taking level of contempt in respect of the relationship he had with Massey's daughter, must just really hate women. There's no sense of outrage at what CE's actions said about his attitude towards his own daughter. So I can only surmise that he shares that attitude. Towards women. £5M to end up with a future SIL who cheated on his own DD in a manor that was reprehensible at best - who the fuck does that unless they just really hate women?

BeyondReasonablyDoubts · 19/10/2016 15:55

I imagine conversations over the Massey breakfast table with "ah thats how I met your mother love, don't worry - he'll never be found guilty"...

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 19/10/2016 15:51

Re Karl Massey , I've been discussing this with my husband. We are the parents of a son only but are both mystified why the father of a daughter would stand so solidly with a man who has treated his daughter so badly.

Husband thinks Massey must either have behaved in a similar way or at best can't see what's wrong with Evans' behaviour, therefore Evans has to be innocent because otherwise what does it say about Massey?

KindDogsTail · 19/10/2016 15:43

Yes Bird. CCTV showed her in a take away before where she fell over, (with no suggestion it was a case of simple, sober tripping) so she was already not OK: she was drunk/drugged whatever.

Birdandsparrow · 19/10/2016 15:34

And if she was spiked early enough on, then by the time the police were on the case 12 hours had probably passed.

KindDogsTail · 19/10/2016 15:26

12hours is all it takes for one of the drugs to leave the body.
If you read the symptoms in the article it sounds very like she was drugged as well as drunk.

Once someone has had any alcohol, and if they have no protecting sober friends around, it must be a synch to give a date rape drug with the chances of getting caught next to nothing. Then as to rape, once someone has drunk anything you just say they were not that drunk, she did not seem that drunk to me, yes she did give consent/I believe she was consenting/her body moved as though she were consenting.

Probably people are getting drugged all the time but think they were drunk.

www.nhs.uk/Livewell/abuse/Pages/drink-spiking.aspx
"Most drugs leave the body within 72 hours of being taken (the date rape drug GHB leaves the body within 12 hours), so it's important to be tested as soon as possible."

24 hours is not long either
mcwell.nd.edu/your-well-being/physical-well-being/drugs/rohypnol-flunitrazepam/
"If you believe you are a victim of a date rape drug you can be tested by the University Health Center withing 24 hours."

KindDogsTail · 19/10/2016 15:10

Thank you iremembericod that TED talk was very, very interesting and I'd never have seen that.

user1475253854 · 19/10/2016 15:04

I haven't read the full thread, so sorry if this has already come up, but regarding the text to her friend/boyfriend/whoever about her drink being spiked. Was this followed up? Because that could help explain her compliance (as well as being drunk obv), the wetting the bed, the not being aware of someone else entering the room and the lack of memory the next day. But it leaves your system so quickly so it's hard to prove, isn't it? Can anyone fill me in?

Marbleheadjohnson · 19/10/2016 14:59

or even just have gone to the News of the World (still around at the time) with a story about how you had a wild threesome with a couple of footballers? That would have made much more sense if money were her aim

HillaryFTW · 19/10/2016 14:56

Quite, Queen. I've never understood the 'money grabbing' troll-types.

Surely the best way to 'win big' would be not to go to the police but go direct to the rapist and threaten to do so? Which, of course, she did not.

Queenoftheblues · 19/10/2016 14:53

The average rate of compensation is £11k but expect a wait. I applied in February 2014 and still haven't received anything. I hardly call this sum "winning big" do you?

WomanWithAltitude · 19/10/2016 14:43

It's horrible.

But hey, 'not all men', right?

HillaryFTW · 19/10/2016 14:38

God, icod, that's so awful.

iremembericod · 19/10/2016 14:36

I was just doing some research for a project I am working on and listened to Tony Porter's TED talk that I haven't listened to for a long time.

He describes an incident in his life which is scarily similar to the Ched Evans case. He didn't rape the girl. It is so powerful in showing what was wrong with Ched Evan's situation and the problem with masculinity.

BeyondReasonablyDoubts · 19/10/2016 12:51

This "a woman who has to be told by police that she may have been raped is the victim of a rapist" is ridiculous.

If someone sneaks around a hospital raping comatose patients, is that not rape?
If someone breaks house of an old lady who has dementia, is that not rape?

They're just putting a value judgement on her being drunk, they should at least be honest about it.

Spookybitch · 19/10/2016 12:46

I wonder how much, exactly, Karl Massey is willing to spend to defend his daughter's cheating boyfriend. And whether he thinks it's beneficial in the long run to keep Ched Evans' name, and the details of the case, in public consciousness. To my mind, that's got every likelihood of backfiring.
