Boo hoo. That tiny minority of headbangingly mad extreme feminists that no one would listen to anyway are spoiling feminism therefore feminism is COMPLETELY BROKEN and women need to shut up and start making ironic sandwiches. And blowjobs.

I've just been reading on another rheas how some people from these sites check the referring webpages and get their supporters trolling. Perhaps it would be best if MN remove the URL links and just replace with spiked-online dot com so that if we want to look at those webs is we have to type in the address so the referrer can't be traced. Does that make sense?

alsmutko · 20/06/2015 19:12

Well it's Spiked innit?
That's the website that was complaining about the excessive policing done on Operation Yewtree. Those poor poor paedophiles getting prosecuted at their ages. Poor dears. Check out the comments here if you can bear it:

Think he's renounced his Marxist beliefs and has gone full right wing throttle.

YonicScrewdriver · 18/06/2015 20:08

I think you're one penis short of being his type, Annie.

Anniegetyourgun · 18/06/2015 19:29

Poor love. I think he needs to get laid.

Well I ain't volunteerin'.

YonicScrewdriver · 18/06/2015 09:43

"Q 423 Stephen Doughty: By that logic, Mr O’Neill, Parliament would not spend half the time discussing half the issues that it does, because a lot of the public, 90% of the time, would not consider that a lot of the things that we discuss here are important. We still need to make laws on them and we still need to discuss them. It is a completely fallacious argument. "

Well said, Stephen Doughty, whoever you are!

however · 17/06/2015 14:05

Poor love. I think he needs to get laid.

ezinma · 17/06/2015 11:33

And although the majority of people said they supported gay marriage, the bill was actually unpopular – the proof being that straight people weren't prepared to risk their lives for a cause that wouldn't benefit them.

Yet he gets work in the Telegraph, the Spectator and other well-known organs of Marxism.

Anniegetyourgun · 17/06/2015 10:06

He claimed to be a libertarian too. I think my irony meter just exploded.

Backforthis · 17/06/2015 10:03

People like him give Marxism a bad name.

Anniegetyourgun · 17/06/2015 09:55

That select committee report is hilarious! His main argument seemed to be that gay people were not campaigning for marriage in the right way. Confused

CoteDAzur · 16/06/2015 13:09

I just read the beginning of the article linked in the OP.

Just its title is great entertainment: Feminism and the turn against Enlightenment, no less Grin

scallopsrgreat · 15/06/2015 09:34

Oh Brendan O'Neill! I did wonder whether it was him!

ezinma · 15/06/2015 09:33

I'm not going to read the article – it's Brendan O'Neill isn't it? He's a professional troll and he's been doing his anti-feminist schtick to his audience of a few dozen 'libertarian' MRAs for ages.

For some unfathomable reason he was invited to give evidence to the UK parliamentiary committee debating the gay marriage bill. The MPs reacted to his nonsensical contribution by openly laughing at him, rolling their eyes, interrupting him, and declaring themselves so "bemused" that they chose not to waste time interrogating him.

scallopsrgreat · 15/06/2015 09:15

I don't always agree with SGB but I invariably agree with her when she calls a bloke a "howling needledick". I think I'll trust your judgement on this one SGB and forego the article Grin

YonicScrewdriver · 15/06/2015 07:54

Do you think Camille Paglia would kick his arse round the room without breaking a sweat, then go for lunch?

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 15/06/2015 05:36

He's annoyed with modern feminism for not paying enough attention to Camille Paglia. Do you think he's ever actually read any Camille Paglia?

SenecaFalls · 15/06/2015 00:10

I normally love getting outraged but this was too much like hard work.

The best sentence on MN all week. Grin

Heckler · 14/06/2015 23:56

That is the second worst article I have given up reading in the last fortnight.

Devora · 14/06/2015 23:49

blistering thundercunt is fabulous. I wonder if I'll ever get to use it without causing massive offence?

The article was very, very boring. I normally love getting outraged but this was too much like hard work.

SunshineBossaNova · 14/06/2015 23:48

I couldn't read it all as he can't write for shit. I'd rather describe him as an ocean-going arsewipe.

LassUnparalleled · 14/06/2015 23:39

Of course Oxford University scored a spectacular own goal by refusing to allow him to be involved in an abortion debate (where I think he may even have been pro-choice) so he'll dine out on that for years.

grimbletart · 14/06/2015 23:10

I struggled to the end but it was highly irrational.

RadioProtector · 14/06/2015 22:56

The article was too boring to finish, but I skim read some of it.

Some of it seemed to be a fair point, if absurd in execution, in relation to the coloring of thought with the feminist agenda. But overall, it read like a lot of paranoid nonsense.

LassUnparalleled · 14/06/2015 19:05

The article was too boring for me to get past the first paragraph. Isn't he just writing for like minds?
