What isn't a feminist issue?

Inspired a bit by another thread but it seems like a frequent occurence that non feminists say that feminists say everything is a feminist issue.

Since I 'took the red pill'/whatever I do see everything as a feminist issue so I'm perplexed at what these non-feminist issues are?

It seems to me that one of the first things you realise as a feminist is how all pervasive patriarchy is.

I don't think anything's exempt from it.

Chocolste is a feminist issue, why aren't we allowed to eat Yorkies? Flakes are hideous flaky things, why would I want to eat that?

maliaki · 18/04/2015 21:39

ChunkyPickle Nope no way, they're much smaller too Shock Such a travesty.

InAndOfMyself · 18/04/2015 21:01

Chopper I think I've failed Pampering 101, my toes are wrinkly. I think I'll wander off to watch Banished now.

lucycant · 18/04/2015 20:50

I am watching Shameless USA. That clearly is a feminist issue.

ChopperGordino · 18/04/2015 20:45

InAndOfMyself are you pampering yourself?

(Actually, don't answer that Grin)

Linguini · 18/04/2015 20:39

I use Pampers nappies on my baby. The word Pampered has changed forever to me!

Linguini · 18/04/2015 20:38

Cream eggs now tasting better? Sorry. No way are you a proper feminist Chunky Pickle. Nu huh.

Anyone had Cadbury's chocolate fingers since the buyout? They are rank.

Chocolate fingers are a feminist issue. No pun actually either but they are ladylike and small for all our calorie counting.

InAndOfMyself · 18/04/2015 20:38

I'm reading this thread from the bath, does that make me a good or bad feminist?

Amethyst24 · 18/04/2015 20:31

God, I hate the idea of "pampering". Not just that we're expected to spend our time and money painting our nails and shit like that, but that we're expected to somehow be grateful for it. What a load of bollocks.

ChunkyPickle · 18/04/2015 20:29

You're wrong about the eggs - apart from the travesty of a 5 egg carton, I think they taste better..

Also, it seems yet another situation where I'm apparently a man - I love the smell of coal tar soap (have a stash in the bottom bathroom draw so I don't ever run out), and I have been known to purposefully leave a towel out of the tumble dryer so it gets that pleasing line-dried crisp feeling.

Baths aren't half so nice when the moment the tap starts running there are suddenly two young boys in the bathroom ripping their clothes off, DP only escapes it because he's so tall that he completely fills the bath so they can't have any fun if he's there too.

lucycant · 18/04/2015 20:26

Is that because you are the one who has to clean the toilet thatstoast?

thatstoast · 18/04/2015 20:24

There's been many threads on mumsnet about people who aren't able to take a shit anywhere but their house. Personally, I'm a shit outside the home mum rather than a shit at home mum. Let's not turn this into a bunfight though.

UptoapointLordCopper · 18/04/2015 20:17

I'm still trying to think what is not a feminist issue. Hmm.

Buffy Leave sequences alone. I like sequences. I think sequences are not a feminist issue.

maliaki · 18/04/2015 19:19

lucycant I wouldn't say that's an issue with taking a shit, that's an issue with childcare and partners being shits- it could easily be any other excuse, my Dsis' exes excuse was that he just had to go and check the oil/water in the car or to call work.

lucycant · 18/04/2015 19:07

Yes taking a shit is a feminist issue. I still remember several long threads about male partners disappearing to take a very long shit whenever difficult childcare tasks needed to be done.

BertieBotts · 18/04/2015 18:58

I think pampering still is - there are different kinds of pampering aimed at men and women. It's not assumed that men want to go on pampering weekends and sold to them like some gigantic treat, they get exciting things like paintballing and go karting.

maliaki · 18/04/2015 18:57

Cadbury's creme eggs- they are an everyone issue because now Cadbury's has been bought out they are shit.

Taking a shit isn't a feminist issue. We all do it. Though one of the women at work has never been able to fart in front of her DP or shit in the house when he's in without being very uncomfortable. She's currently ttc, I told her giving birth would get her over her issue wince a lot of women fart or shit themselves during.
