Be gentle as I am new to thinking about this.

I found the Natalie Bennett's comments on decriminalising prostitution pretty persuasive - what am I missing?

She basically said that sex workers would like this policy (having contributed to it) and that research from other countries indicated it was the way forward.

So to get it to work, I have to make sure I get semen on my teeth. Got it. Thanks!

Lioninthesun · 07/03/2015 22:57

But yes we are deviating from the political stance of a party we are all interested in, one way or another. Which is why we are all still here, despite the popcorn throwing from the back there Wink

RufusTheReindeer · 07/03/2015 22:56

jessica

Wait a minute...wouldn't the penis act like a straw? So it wouldn't hit the teeth at all?

Like when the dentist says use a straw with a fizzy drink...

mary24go · 07/03/2015 22:56

"Did you know Mary that nuns and monks have higher life expectancy that other mortals? Doesn't really fit with your have sex and live long and healthy model does it? Unless of course these nuns and monks are really very naughty and are at it like rabbits."

It is true they do live longer and after living such lives of excess, drinking, smoking, maybe taking drugs, eating fast and processed food packed with corn syrup and other crap.

They are so unlike normal people who are typically cloistered away eating healthily and getting fresh air and exercise on a daily basis.

YEA you nailed it i mean the lack of sex is clearly a winner because their are clearly no other contributing factors involved...

Lioninthesun · 07/03/2015 22:54

Mary I think a lot of societal rules and laws are in place to do exactly that - stop people doing whatever they want with their bodies. Otherwise people could grope/rape/run about naked/use anything openly as a toilet/bite etc etc. Not sure what your point it.

grimbletart · 07/03/2015 22:50

Mary: no one has told you what you can and can't do with your body. If you were familiar with FWR you would know that posters are very supportive of individual prostitutes. No prostitute on here has ever been personally condemned by feminists. You can do it upside down, hanging from the chandelier with a rose between your buttocks and a cast of 10 men if you choose.

It's the society that says it is OK for desperate, poor, maybe drug dependent or abused women with no real choice other than to sell themselves that FWR has concerns about.

Jessica147 · 07/03/2015 22:50

Well if blowjobs are good for my teeth, doesn't that really mean he's doing me a favour? I find it strange that my dentist has never mentioned the powers of blowjobs.

So how can I improve my teeth?
Well you could brush them regularly, avoid fizzy drinks, or you could just give loads of blowjobs.

Lioninthesun · 07/03/2015 22:49

Oh, nevermind - unsurprisingly it looks as though the almost mythical Prosoglandin isn't "found only in semen" - unless you lived in 1935. Since then it has "been found in almost every tissue in humans and other animals" en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prostaglandin
And there was me thinking all the scientists in the world had been barking up the wrong tree...
I need a scooby snack now, too much sleuthing for one night

The Green Party? More like The Peen Party!

RufusTheReindeer · 07/03/2015 22:46

"As for selling whatever you want, I just don't agree. I don't think a person should be able to sell an organ, for instance."

Then should anybody try to force you to do so i will be happy to stand beside you against them.

But not you or any man either tell me what i can or cannot do with my body.

Jessica, offer him a gentle blow job? You don't want to damage his penis now, and a REAL LIFE DOCTOR has said it will.

PetulaGordino · 07/03/2015 22:41

Really none of this derailment is relevant to the Green Party stance on prostitution anyway. Because their rationale is about making sure women who are working in prostitution are as safe as possible. I don't happen to be convinced that the NZ model will do that, but all this crap about women being all jolly and having a good sense of smell has nothing to do with the Green Party stance, or anyone who objects to it. It's just a big old derailment by someone with an agenda. The Green Party sees decriminalisation as the safest option for prostitutes and the OP has asked if that could be discussed.

Jessica147 · 07/03/2015 22:40

rufus, can I have some wine please? I've tried to send dp out for some, but he thinks he's already done enough to earn sex tonight and is refusing to go!

mary24go · 07/03/2015 22:40

"On the occasions when just one person is in the mood, sex shouldn't happen. Obviously."

And the male sex drive being what it is within a society that has no prostitution/options that would put a lot of power in our hands, power we have always had to a certain extent but with changes in the courts and other changes over the last few decades.

grimbletart · 07/03/2015 22:40

Sorry Rufus - I'm worried about her. Sisterly concern etc.

Lioninthesun · 07/03/2015 22:40

Mary it's odd to note then that single women outlive their coupled counterparts quite considerably in most countries.
I could c&p from a few tarot readers but as you said, Google is easy enough to cherry pick from Smile
*- Reduced depression:

Such was the implication of a 2002 study of 293 women. American psychologist Gordon Gallup Gordon Gallup reported that sexually active participants whose male partners did not use condoms were less subject to depression than those whose partners did. One theory of causality: Prostoglandin, a hormone found only in semen, may be absorbed in the female genital tract, thus modulating female hormones.*

Anyone else read this and think about the poor women having to have sex with someone they distrust so much that they have to use a condom every time? No wonder they are more likely to be depressed than the clearly trustful menfolk on this 'study'. That would be obvious to me!

Mary might not have earnt sex today...don't be so insensitive

PuffinsAreFictitious · 07/03/2015 22:36

So you are saying that you always feel like sex at the exact same time?

Oh dear. Oh deary, deary dear.

Jessica147 · 07/03/2015 22:35

Gonna make it simple for you mary:
Both people want sex = have sex
Neither person wants sex = no sex
One person wants sex, the other doesn't = no sex.

As for selling whatever you want, I just don't agree. I don't think a person should be able to sell an organ, for instance.

grimbletart · 07/03/2015 22:35

Perhaps a little sex would help Mary? You do seem rather tense and, as you say, it is good for you..
