Welcome!

This is the 14th incarnation of the Pub and is meant as a place to drop by with random thoughts and meandering chats, on feminist or other related themes. Anything you want to mull over but not necessarily start a thread about. Alternatively, flop onto the chaise lounges with some Wine

We have a pub goat, a feminist cannon for firing at crazy sexists and a variety of drinks and snacks. And stools/bar counters at female friendly heights. And a crèche in the back somewhere

Will link the last pub in the next post!

I definitely need coffee. I'm off to get one now (DS has a swimming lesson, and the pool has a cafe).

FrauHelgaMissMarpleandaChuckle · 22/11/2014 08:51

I've made coffee.

Can't stop grinning like a love sick teen. And this man is not sub. I would bet my life. Curses.

YonicScrewdriver · 22/11/2014 08:49

Hangover not kicked in yet.

Bacon/mushroom toasties, anyone?

Morning all. Hope the hangovers are ok today! Grin

I am feeling a lot better today, even though I didn't sleep well. My dodgy back when pregnant is kicking in and making me miserable.

On plus side, I was in town yesterday doing some shopping and NOT happy. Felt like I could barely walk. Was walking into John Lewis and I could see that the man standing outside was about to tell me to "cheer up love" or similar. I gave him the glare but was quite disappointed he didn't as I was fully prepared to challenge any man saying that to me yesterday with, "just because I am a woman, I don't have to look happy. So you tell random
Men to smile?!"

YonicScrewdriver · 22/11/2014 00:59

Pain meds and Mountain Dew?

Today is obviously dickheads day on MN. So much rape apologism, mansplaining and shite everywhere Sad Good to see how many people support the BPAS call for buffer zones though, goddess forbid the bumbly klaxon goes off though!

Not drunk, but out of my mind on pain meds and Mountain Dew. All I need is a porch and some pork rinds to bring out my inner redneck Smile

YonicScrewdriver · 22/11/2014 00:31

Am also drunk!

Must be something in the Wine

Happy wine o'clock indeed Grin.

OublietteBravo · 21/11/2014 22:02

...and me, which is most unfair as I've only had 100ml of prosecco.

FibonacciSeries · 21/11/2014 21:59

Happy wine o'clock!

UptoapointLordCopper · 21/11/2014 21:56

Me too! >

FibonacciSeries · 21/11/2014 21:46

Nice use of the feminist cannon, Buffy!

I'm a drunk feminist tonight Wine

KateeGee · 21/11/2014 21:26

Mary Poppins was my first feminist idol. Shout out to Winnifred Banks as well.

Sabrinnnnnnnna · 21/11/2014 20:55

It's much nicer in here Wine I think I'll stay a while.

Sabrinnnnnnnna · 21/11/2014 20:54

I think you got him, buffy

ballsballsballs · 21/11/2014 20:49

You're going to need a bigger cannon.

Grin thanks petula . I'd forgotten how hilar that is. I think it's better seeing it now than when I was a wee girl!

Zazzles007 · 21/11/2014 20:27

"No, must have been programmed by a man who wouldn't stop and ask directions".

Well done grimbletart Grin. There are loads of ways women can assert ourselves which are socially acceptable, especially in real-life where you won't get a rape or death threat. Good for you for saying that - one small, successful action leads to more and more and more, until you have a much bigger thing. I love that his reaction to you says it all Grin
