22 yo man murders 7 people as revenge for women not sleeping with him.

"Why are girls sexually attracted to obnoxious, brutish men instead of sophisticated gentlemen such as myself?"

Goldie, I have already said that I will not start a thread as it is clearly not high on the agenda of most posters.

AnyFucker · 28/05/2014 15:07

Here is the story, honey

22honey · 28/05/2014 15:05

'of male domination of society'

Hasn't it always been obvious to you society is dominated by mostly males, and well off ones at that? It has to me.

'You didn't see the facebook page glorifying him then, honey (that took a massive protest and many hours before it was finally taken down)'

No I didnt, there are some fucked up people about.

GoldieMumbles · 28/05/2014 15:00

There is no doubt that this guy was a misogynist. He said he hated women. It's the overriding reason for his actions. However:

"He killed 6 people because he couldn't have access to women's bodies and he felt entitled to that."

He killed 6 people because he had easy access to rapid-firing weapons. This is a real problem in American society and whilst not the reason for his attack, it's a key enabler.

"Why would I start a thread about it on here when its clear as daylight the majority of 'feminists' on this board would rather sweep the issue of poor women being 3 times more likely to be abused under the carpet"

honey I happen to have agreed with quite a lot of what you have written ont his thread, and disagreed with other things. Early in the thread you were clearly being ganged up on because you disagreed with the particular brand of feminism on offer. However, I don't think you're doing yourself any favours with quotes like that above. I'm sure you've done your research. But it is not what this thread is about. If you wish to discuss the issues of social class and wealth on propensity to be subjected to sexual assault, may I humbly suggest that you need to starta new thread to do it and not hijack this one, please?

In general, MrsTP, most men just don't "get it"

The worst haters of women hide their dysfunction from other men. They know their behaviour is wrong, so they save it for when women are alone and unprotected by the gaze of other men.

Sorry about that, Buffy

Do you think that people instinctively want to deny misogyny because it is the closest to home of all the oppressions? The one that pretty much every person has to confront very personally in the light of people they know and respect, even love? Definitely.

I read both articles, very good. I was thinking about the AF one in the context of a conversation I had with two male friends of DH's. One had been sexually harassed and picked up (literally) in a gay club. He was scared and talking about it. I sympathised and said I had been sexually harassed the night I met DH for the first time. They looked incredulous and said, "that's not the same thing". The man concerned was drink, bigger than me and the attention was unwanted. Only one of them eventually conceded that yes, it did give him an idea of what women feel when unwanted physical contact is forced on them. The other never did.

They are very good, KF

You didn't see the facebook page glorifying him then, honey (that took a massive protest and many hours before it was finally taken down)

Remember Raoul Moat and how he was glorified as a hero ? Same thing.

Buffy and AF I've saved the articles to read later with a coffee, thanks for posting them.

22honey · 28/05/2014 14:43

I dont see how he has made a martyr of himself....I havn't seen anywhere at all anyone agreeing with what he has done or thinking him some sort of saint.

I honestly just think people are and always have been fucking weird just now we hear about it more often due to the internet etc.

22honey · 28/05/2014 14:41

the thread was derailed by certain posters taking offence to the mere comment about middle class women being one of the most privileged groups in the world (whether you think that is relevant to the thread or not, I do) and not what barely anyone would consider 'vulnerable'...I did not attempt to derail the thread it just happened.

I was having a discussion, or does one have to agree with everything everyone else says on here or they are not part of the discussion? Very sisterly behaviour to your fellow women, that is.

AnyFucker · 28/05/2014 14:37

Here is a good article on how misogyny goes under the radar of most men until something like this happens and even then how it is minimised.

Absolutely AnyFucker. Everyone can see from his "manifesto" ( I hate that it's referred to as that) what he would have done if he had the power and opportunity.
His failing to cause as much death as he wanted to doesn't change the intent.

AnyFucker · 28/05/2014 14:32

He was pretty successful at making a martyr of himself though. No cock ups (not a pun) there.

AskBasil · 28/05/2014 14:24

Yes I agree with you Anyfucker.
The only reason he didn't kill more was because he was incompetent.

AskBasil · 28/05/2014 14:24

Why would I start a thread about it on here when I can just derail other threads where women are trying to have discussions?

enormouse · 28/05/2014 14:24

anyfucker I think you're right. In terms of his manifesto, killing women was stage 2 after killing his flatmates. It just didn't go to his (evil) plan.

AskBasil · 28/05/2014 14:23

Derail derail derail.

Hmm
