Anybody see this? It was just horrific. I really, really hope it reached the right audience: punters and their defenders. I doubt it, but I hope so Sad

Sab - I'm not sure that is the definition of all prostitution

SabrinaMulFUCKERJjones · 26/10/2013 00:29

Yes bale. I think she is.

Yougotbale · 26/10/2013 00:26

When - are you talking about all prostitution?
I think the legalisation would cause a shift of power. (Not in all cases). Prostitution as you see it now, would not exist.

SabrinaMulFUCKERJjones · 26/10/2013 00:24

Oh ja. Ofc. whatevs.

Yougotbale · 26/10/2013 00:23

Sab - sorry I thought we were referring to the criminalisation of punters. That's what I meant. Obviously it would allow legal brothels in Norway

That's laughable bale. The nordic model prohibits the purchase of sex - so legal brothels cannot exist under it.

Yougotbale · 26/10/2013 00:11

Flora - I mean the illegal brothels could be dealt with with a model like the Nordic one. The legal brothels would try and make the uncontrollable prostituion controllable. Keep the workers safe and regulate the punters

Yougotbale · 26/10/2013 00:06

When - I think there is but only if they get caught.

In a legalised system you would try and keep abuse to a minimum.

The Nordic model is more open to abuse. Unregulated, prostitutes front up brothels because they won't be criminalised.

FloraFoxForAnyFucker · 26/10/2013 00:03

Bale read some more about the Nordic model. Your idea is not consistent with that model.

Youmake - you could. It would require the punters to be regulated and a governing body

Yougotbale · 25/10/2013 23:55

When - it would be regulated. So what would you do?

YouMakeMeWannaLaLa · 25/10/2013 23:53

You couldn't bring employment law, Health and Safety and risk assessments etc. into prostitution and keep the 'services' the same. The risk of physical pain, psychological issues and risk of infection would be too great to be legal, surely? Do you think?

Prostitutes would have to be self employed (not required to follow HSE etc.) so it wouldn't be as helpful as it sounds.

Flora - this is why you would accompany it with something like the Nordic model.

bale unregulated brothels would flourish. They would be cheaper and the punters would remain hidden. Meanwhile, demand would increase as the legal brothels would normalise and legitimise the buying of women for sex.

Yougotbale · 25/10/2013 23:49

Sab - it depends how it's regulated.

Some sort of criminalisation is currently going on. Why are they punters?

SabrinaMulFUCKERJjones · 25/10/2013 23:48

Eaves- the men who buy sex

Yougotbale · 25/10/2013 23:47

When - that is a pimp as you know them now

SabrinaMulFUCKERJjones · 25/10/2013 23:45

Legalisation increases demand and normalises prostitution, resulting in 2 effects:

  1. Increase in overall demand for prostitution.
  2. Increase in trafficked women and girls to meet the demand.

In anonymous surveys, approx 85% of currently active punters (in London) say that some sort of criminalisation of the purchase of sex would stop them doing it. (Eaves)

Flora - why would demand increase?
