Someone please explain because I can't seem to find out... What is this anti-abortion bill? Anti-abortion full stop or anti-abortion after a certain time limit? If so what time limit? Thanks.

It seems to work. I googled a place I've stayed in the US - if you used a hotel, no-one could possibly know you weren't there unless they checked hotel records, and you wouldn't be getting anyone into trouble by using 'their' address.

goodbyeyellowbrickroad · 25/06/2013 22:43

77005 is a valid Texas zipcode. Am watching the news in Houston and this has been reported ever so briefly.

So glad to see s

5madthings · 25/06/2013 22:40

So that would work, yay I just wasn't sure if it would be 'OK' don't want to encourage people to do something illegal, tho even if it wass I think this is a good enough cause for breaking the law.

therumoursaretrue · 25/06/2013 22:39

Amazing! What a woman!

Suspect we may be in the same place MrsL it's a sad state of affairs Hmm

MalenkyRusskyDrakonchik · 25/06/2013 22:38

Ooh, I didn't think of that.

SconeRhymesWithGone · 25/06/2013 22:38

Wendy Davis

MmeLindor · 25/06/2013 22:38

Yep, use a google ZIP code. I have done that before when I have used US websites.

Not sure if she needs more to read, but worth a shot

I have shared on fb, the personal stories she is reading out are heartbreaking, is anyone else close to tears? Blush

Err can people Google zip codes...or would that not work?

edam · 25/06/2013 22:36

Wow, she's amazing. Go Wendy!

LineRunner · 25/06/2013 22:35

Third that needs a valid zip code to submit.

MmeLindor · 25/06/2013 22:31

That is lovely, Scone. (and yes, of course it rhymes with gone!)

Am glad there is a lot of support for Wendy. My twitter and FB timelines are buzzing.

MmeLindor · 25/06/2013 22:26

Here are the rules

Filibusters are governed by the Senate rules and by precedents interpreting the rules.
Rule 3.02 prohibits eating or drinking in the Senate chamber.

Rule 4.01 requires a member of the Senate to stand at his or her desk to address the Senate. The member speaking may not sit, lean, or use a desk or chair in any way. Bathroom breaks are not allowed.

Rule 4.03, which governs the interruption of a member who is speaking, allows other senators to raise objections if a speaker does not confine his or her remarks to the issue under consideration or if his or her voice is inaudible.

MardyBra · 25/06/2013 22:22

Wow. Go Wendy.

5madthings · 25/06/2013 22:22

Actually the guy I am watching may be from earlier...not sure if I a, watching a live link...

SconeRhymesWithGone · 25/06/2013 22:21

See, this is why I joined Mumsnet. Here I am in Florida, at the end of my work day, plugged into all sorts of US news outlets, but find out about this from the other side of the pond. And I really appreciate the support for those of us here in the US who are fighting back in the war on women that has really escalated in this country in the last several years. Go Wendy and go Mumsnet!

5madthings · 25/06/2013 22:21

This is really interesting, so glad she is doing this. Dont like the bloke at the moment, women can have all, health care they need bit not abortion...and more are saying whilst we talk about it...oh do fuck off.

MalenkyRusskyDrakonchik · 25/06/2013 22:17

Scary thought, mrsL. Sad

MrsLyman · 25/06/2013 22:15

Just thinking about how terrible it is to take away a woman's right to choose, and remembered I live in a part of the UK where abortion is illegal. Crap

Justfornowitwilldo · 25/06/2013 22:14

Kick ass.

I hope she can make it.
