Its mad isn't it DH is a football fan and goes on his team's forum. They talk about all sorts of stuff not just football. He doesn't go ont his rival team's fan forum to complain they don't pay the right attention to his team.

I tend to liken it to going on the doghouse, informing them all I dislike dogs and prefer lizards, telling them all they should talk about lizards, making threads asking which lizard they prefer, and then calling them nasty for telling me to fuck off, and declaring they are actually clearly lizard-phobic.

I have never been on the black mumsnetters section tbh. I cannot really understand why people would go there, if they are not a member of the group its clearly meant for tbh. Maybe to read and learn, but definitely not to insert yourself in the middle of things and demand attention.

I guess, I read lipstickalley a fair bit, to see the perspective of a different group. But I would never dream of actually posting there. And certainly not to say 'look at me look at me, I have problems and things I think you should talk about instead, centre me!'

Oh yeah there's a beauty of a thread on Black Mumsnetters at the moment. Dozens of women saying "This happened to me" and a few idiots wading in to tell them they're being oversensitive or that they are the problem or that lovely gem "I don't even know what I'm allowed to say anymore".

I think it comes from the same place. Its like pay attention to me, talk about me, no not like that like this. Bloody annoying

I obviously knew about 'all lives matter' as have seen that shit from all over. I did mean, people specifically seeking out places where they might gather to talk or whatever, to lecture them on why its wrong for them to focus on the group they focus on.

Just incase, as saying I have not seen 'but surely all lives matter!' would be very false.

they do get that 'all live matter' nonsense. any oppressed group does get a response of that nature from the more unimaginative members of the oppressor group when they advocate for themselves. 'you are doing something that does not explicitly include me? unacceptable!'

Ugh, I for some reason assumed that this was specific to feminists. Maybe I do have a degree of bias. Not a positive thing, to find out that it happens to other groups also :(

NOT ALL MEN. We do not respond like this to all men, to say we do would be very wrong. Its a very specific type of man, who tends to get the pisstakey passive aggressive treatment. And though you will disbelieve no doubt, a woman posting the same 'feminism has gone too far', 'women should solve other problems first' type stuff, would get the same treatment. Look at how most of you respond. A man has an opinion and you meet that with criticism, patronising and toxic behaviour. It’s really saddened to witness. Which, evidences my point about what happens when you have single gender groups within a society that needs to work together.
