You are taking the fact that 9000 possible chancers are signed up to some random website and a handful of female possible punters as evidence that prostitution is not a highly gendered activity. That doesn't stand up as evidence.

There are over 9,000 straight male escorts in the UK on Adultwork alone, of those 9k there are enough profiles where the feedback from women cross referenced against a lack of any other activity like webcamming points to at least hundreds of women who have paid these men for sexual services. Add to that the numbers who are not on Adultwork, like the male strippergrams who get propositioned by women at every gig they attend and I'm afraid, evidently you are wrong.
