How to be a good and happy housewife article

'The good housewife needs to maintain a good appearance and do not repeat the mistakes of some women who after the marriage lose their attraction.'

HmmConfused

  1. Do a LOT of cleaning. I mean all-freakin-day cleaning.
  2. Pay close attention to your appearance (I guess all that cleaning should help keep you fit).
  3. Learn to cook. It's very easy, you can find out how on YouTube.
  4. Your husband (or indeed female partner, although the article generalises it to husband) has the right to expect perfection but may be magnanimous enough to allow a lower standard in certain circumstances, even offering to help out to ensure the house is immaculate.
  5. Children cause mess. This is about the only mention they get in the article so presumably the message would be: ideally don't have them if you want to be the perfect housewife.
  6. Be good at shagging.
  7. You may have a hobby. You should use it planning things for other people, though.
  8. Enjoy.

Oh sure! Grin

I bet he wondered what the hell was going on when he got all those complaints last night Grin

ashesgirl · 06/01/2013 10:07

Well done to those who complained and got it taken down

Good chap. One page down, most of the rest of the internet to go!

Sunnywithshowers · 06/01/2013 00:34

That makes me very, very happy.

StuntGirl · 06/01/2013 00:31

Actually just checked my emails (I emailed complaining about it too) and he's apologised and said it would be removed immediately. Amazingly fast response, quite impressed actually.

StuntGirl · 06/01/2013 00:28

I think the owner's have removed it Grin

Sunnywithshowers · 05/01/2013 23:58

Well done Professor, that's great news. Grin

tribpot · 05/01/2013 23:51

Wow, so he's not the author?

Nuttyprofessor · 05/01/2013 23:46

I emailed him earlier asking for a quote for a time machine to go back to the 50s he replied that he agreed it is a terrible article he should have vetted it, it will be removed.

Anniegetyourgun · 05/01/2013 23:46

Thank God I'm divorced, I can be as physically repulsive as I like. Which is just as well, really.

noisytoys · 05/01/2013 23:14

This is so funny

ashesgirl · 05/01/2013 23:06

He has a twitter page!

ashesgirl · 05/01/2013 23:04

Ok, we have to get in touch with him! What a shame there's no comments area on this article

StuntGirl · 05/01/2013 22:55

Shock This article is like, two weeks old. It's tone and style is like something from the fifties. They do know April Fool's Day is months off, right??

julz09 · 05/01/2013 22:42

Am i right in thinking it was man that wrote this? Looks like a man in the photo. Sounds like something dh would write. Hmm

grimbletart · 05/01/2013 22:39

It has to be a wind-up.

tribpot · 05/01/2013 22:34

I'll have to ask my DH to find out if I'm allowed to send emails.

Sunnywithshowers · 05/01/2013 22:19

Maybe we should email the company and remind them that a) we don't live in the 1950's and b) the article is offensive?

ZZZenAgain · 05/01/2013 22:12

that's it.
Good in the kitchen, good in bed and good to look upon.

And you can also have hobbies if you like.

ashesgirl · 05/01/2013 22:12

I thought this was going to be 1950s article but it was written last year?? Is it a wind up?
