It sounds like a sneaky pro-lifers tactic to me. "Of course we are reasonable people, and would never force a rape victim to give birth to her rapists baby. Happily we now believe that it is impossible for a woman to become pregnant through rape, so let's just close that little loophole, shall we?....'

Have any of these wankers actually outlined how they see their rape carve-out working? Do you have to state you were raped? Have reported it? Wait till there is a suspect in custody?

Most of them don't believe a woman should be allowed an abortion even in case of rape thedoctorine.. It's not the baby's fault and it will lead to women "crying rape" apparently :(

Even when the mother's life is at stake some feel it should be left to chance if the mother has gone in to a religious hospital (which could be where you are taken in an emergency), we need to protect the "religious freedom" of hospitals now.
