This is as a result of a discussion on another thread about how little women know about their own vulva. Post facts here you want to share. Or ask any questions - nothing is too basic.

So is the G-spot actually real then? I am not sure ive ever found mine - even though there does seem to be a sensitive bit at the front, inside, it isn't pleasant when my DP stimulates it

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 17/09/2012 21:44

I keep hoping I am, you know? But it's just dicking me about :(

SarahStratton · 17/09/2012 21:43

I'm nearly there.

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 17/09/2012 21:42

I'm not. I'd happily saddle DH with menstruation if the option was open to me. I'm counting down to menopause

SarahStratton · 17/09/2012 21:39

Shouldn't we be running round, rejoicing in our bloody periods? Hmm

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 17/09/2012 21:37

And then fucking always tells us to have a happy period

AnyFucker · 17/09/2012 21:36

I know, I get it too.

It feels like my uterus is dragging down too

lovely

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 17/09/2012 21:25

Ooh. That makes sense, AF. Bloody weird feeling, though.

SarahStratton · 17/09/2012 21:15

Oh go on. Pink to match my bedspread please.

AnyFucker · 17/09/2012 21:14

the pain in the labia is caused by generalized engorgement with the increased circulation during your period, making the area feel "heavier"

SuePurblybilt · 17/09/2012 21:10

No problem. Pre-1995 is in colour

SarahStratton · 17/09/2012 21:09

I'll have a leaflet please. Wouldn't want anyone getting their hairy mitts on your leaflets.

SuePurblybilt · 17/09/2012 21:07

I have been saving the leaflets from LiLets since I was 12 and now have many boxes full. Handy drawings and diagrams. I shall send them to anyone wondering about number of holes etc, to save attracting trolls with these threads Grin

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 17/09/2012 21:00

Ha! Maybe we're in an exclusive, wonky nerve club Over :)

Overreactionoftheweek · 17/09/2012 20:59

Ooh I get that too Chickens...no idea why though

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 17/09/2012 20:50

Ok. I have a question. Ahem. Sometimes, when I have my period, I get a sort of pain in my labia. A bit like someone is hanging weights off them. They're not, I've checked, but has anyone else had that? And do you know what causes it? I'm thinking some kind of wonky nerve wiring, but it would be nice to know. Ta

EatsBrainsAndLeaves · 17/09/2012 20:44

Yes it can

I didnt actually know until mumsnet that vagina was the word for the "front hole" (sorry cant think of a better word!), and vulva was the word for the whole area.

Malificence - perhaps that explains why after the birth of DD2 I can suddenly achieve orgasm from PIV - I barely ever had before in 11 years! Perhaps my anatomy has changed a bit. Anyway it's one post baby body change I don't mind Grin

Malificence · 17/09/2012 20:08

It was on Discovery , called "why is sex" fun, I think - there was another fascinating bit which showed how semen is directed into the correct fallopian tube by being drawn up by the cervix at orgasm, a woman was injected with oxytocin to cause vaginal/cervical contractions and you could see the path of the (fake) semen.
There were also internal scan images of how the penis simulated the vagina during sex and a possible explanation of why some women can orgasm through PIV and some can't - if your clitoris is further away from the entrance to your vagina than the length of the tip of your thumb to the knuckle, it's unlikely that PIV will make you orgasm, apparently.
T'was very informative, the whole brain seems to light up at the point of orgasm, I think the conclusion was that they are very good for you Grin

LRDtheFeministDragon · 17/09/2012 20:07

Oh, of course. We never know and we know sick trolls do target this board, sadly. They're usually pretty obvious but of course we don't know if they're lurking. Sad

Mind you, you'd have to be pretty sad to get your jollies off chat about biology textbooks and MRI scans.

SarahStratton · 17/09/2012 19:51

Indeed.

ChicHappens · 17/09/2012 19:51

I agree. You, I, none of us have any idea about who is reading this, or indeed for that matter, who else is writing on this thread.
