We certainly must guard against woman as only mother and nothing else

dont quote me erroneously to prove a point.ive never said that
i see youre not letting facts halt your argument
will you go search more stuff now to prove point or just make it up again

amillionyears · 19/09/2012 22:57

Do you personally stand by the words you write on MN?
Do you personally stand by your words in RL?

And having to resort to name calling.

scottishmummy · 19/09/2012 22:55

you're recalling a 10day old different thread
to prove how reasonable you are.and how unreasonable the other person isn't
childish to traipse gripes from other threads to substantiate points here

amillionyears · 19/09/2012 22:54

You are now just word playing.
Didnt realise you were just a word player.
So you abhor housewives too.
Didnt realise that.

non answers are answers. All the evidence is here for poeple to read.
You are also actually saying you are unreasonable.

scottishmummy · 19/09/2012 22:51

all this to prove other people, have a beef?
recalling posts from other threads to prove how unreasonable someone else is
pot.kettle black

amillionyears · 19/09/2012 22:48

"Should it be illegal for men to pay for prostitution"
Xenia post 9 Sept 2012 18.04pm
You may not be on that particular thread so you may not have seen Xenia's exact words which were as I posted exactly above.

autumnlights12 · 19/09/2012 22:46

it would take me all night to list the various negative comments Xenia has made about dreaded shams over time. So many. So offensive. Wouldn't quite know where to begin with the copy and paste. Always amazed by how politely you guys accept her remarks.

amillionyears · 19/09/2012 22:41

She said it.Are you going to insist that I find it because I will if you claim not to have seen it.It may not be on this particular thread.
And this is Xenia's thread so I am hardly saying it behind her back!

And back to you.post 22.09pm and 21.05pm again.

scottishmummy · 19/09/2012 22:29

are you paraphrasing or did she say that
is that poster here
or are you discussing her in her absence

amillionyears · 19/09/2012 22:26

xenia is the one who said she abhors housewives

scottishmummy · 19/09/2012 22:23

i have no idea what or who X is
is it some childish guess who?
are you surreptitiously slagging someone off . Not nice

amillionyears · 19/09/2012 22:09

ok,leave out the beef word,as I would have to look it up in a dictionary to try and find its absolute correct meaning.

my last 2 sentences of 21.05pm still stand please.

scottishmummy · 19/09/2012 22:01

youre guessing wrong if youre guessing beef
why is my pov necessarily a beef, but anyone else is subjective pov?
if you want to get down to it, we all have beefs if you want to be so reductive or simplistic. thats the point innit

is a beef when someone disagrees with you,or you dont like their opinion
if someone concurs do you call that a beef too
it si all chewin the fat though

brass · 19/09/2012 21:16

gender stereotypes hmmm

I don't think I like or fit the 50s housewife model but I'm more than happy with whatever millenium housewife model I was. Similarly DH went out to his gender stereotype job but then came back and helped with the kids and house.

gender schmender

amillionyears · 19/09/2012 21:05

sm,Im confused.
do you have a beef with housewives or not.
Im guessing yes from what you have said.
And therefore are you against them personally,or against what they do/dont do.

I think X is against housewives personally as she says she abhors housewives.

autumnlights12 · 19/09/2012 21:02

no that's fine brass, just remember not to enjoy the SAHM bit too much, because you want to avoid gender stereotypes at all costs ;)

amillionyears · 19/09/2012 21:01

autumn,agree with post 20.22pm.

brass · 19/09/2012 20:53

but why so partisan?

when I'm working I'm WOHM
when I was with my DC I was SAHM

I don't consider myself one or the other specifically. I had a family, my life adapted. No need to slag one or the other off.

vezzie · 19/09/2012 20:30

to suggest that someone eats cheap beans isn't necessarily an insult, unless you judge others (or yourself) by wealth.

autumnlights12 · 19/09/2012 20:22

Lol, the one I'm thinking about disagrees with the world and is laughed out of town elsewhere on MN,but politely tolerated here.

scottishmummy · 19/09/2012 19:43

lol, autumn do you have a list of no likeys
have they disagreed with you perchance?
and let me guess the good eggs agree with you?

scottishmummy · 19/09/2012 19:41

women working and presence and visibility in workplace is pretty pivotal feminist discussion
as is children exposure to female roles, and acquisition of gender stereotypes
like it or not housewife is a stereotypical female role, and does enact gender stereotypes. even if it is uncomfortable for some it's pertinent discussion

autumnlights12 · 19/09/2012 19:39

is ever the same tired old script with you sm. It's clear from your posts here and on similar threads, that you do indeed have a problem with sahm's. At least the other famous sham basher on the feminist board, who I wont name, but you know who I mean, is out there and proud with her beliefs.

scottishmummy · 19/09/2012 19:32

you are paraphrasing to suit yourself
I never said sahm contribute fuck all.you did though
but dont let facts stand in way of your argument

autumnlights12 · 19/09/2012 19:14

the closest example are two comments of hers upthread, discussing yoghurt knitting, and cheap beans. And important for her x to see mum work and contribute (because clearly shams contribute fuck all but add to the problem of gender stereotypes, ass she's mentioned hundreds of times)
