UnimaginitiveDadThemedUsername · 20/06/2012 12:41

I'm not a follower of international football. I support Leeds United and Leeds United Ladies - everyone else can f**k off Grin

bejeezusWC · 20/06/2012 12:36

Hully, 22 years is a long time, so yeah, this one is for Ronald Koeman in particular, the cheating f**k. Revenge is a dish best served cold Grin.

(disclaimer: every Dutch person I have ever met has been very pleasant - this is in a sporting context only)

Pan · 20/06/2012 12:23

Aw, I should have added "with respect.."Grin

Yes the Yankey goal was pretty good, and very professional.

Italy? One of the awful pundits made the good point that Italy are better at what England do that England. So, a dullsville game decided by the odd goal.

Hullygully · 20/06/2012 12:23

one up the Dutch?

Is that altogether cricket?

namechangeguy · 20/06/2012 12:22

We were divided at work over Yankee's free kick. Some people thought it was unsporting. I am of the opinion that it was impudent, smart thinking, and one up the Dutch for 1990. She is a great player.

EatsBrainsAndLeaves · 20/06/2012 12:21

No idea Hully

Well my girlfriend watched the England game at a pub last night which meant I was free to MN all night with no complaints. So yeeeaahh to football

Hullygully · 20/06/2012 12:19

Does anyone know why little Pan told me to fuck off btw? I have no idea.

MrGin · 20/06/2012 12:19

Don't look at me, I don't do football.

bejeezusWC · 20/06/2012 12:16

A menz thread? At last! How shite were England last night? They are going to get done dry by Italy on Sunday. What do we all think?

MrGin · 20/06/2012 11:47

safety in numbers

Hullygully · 20/06/2012 11:43

Goodness.

That's a bit rood.

UnimaginitiveDadThemedUsername · 20/06/2012 11:43

^Oh forget that, just noticed the thread title.

This IS all about the menz. as you were, menz^

exactly why I de-lurked! :-)

Pan · 20/06/2012 11:43

Fuck off Hully.

UnimaginitiveDadThemedUsername · 20/06/2012 11:42

^"and that the answer to a lot of men's issues is more feminism"

But feminism is firstly about addressing issues affecting women.^

Absolutely. Men can ultimately benefit when these issues that affect women are resolved. But that benefit can only come as a result of women benefiting.

Hullygully · 20/06/2012 11:40

Hullygully · 20/06/2012 11:39

that is a valid point

however

any minute someone is going t say this has become all about the menz

UnimaginitiveDadThemedUsername · 20/06/2012 11:38

^Interesting that you say ...

"I think I am quite feminist. I agree that the traditional structure of society is detrimental to men (as well as women) my brackets!

I think to be a feminist you'd need to put that the other way round ?^

The placing of "men" in front of "women" in that sentence isn't to indicate order of importance - it's to indicate that there's an additional element to what is the consensual thought amongst all shades of feminist thinking.

If the sentence said "I agree that the traditional structure of society is detrimental to women as well as men", I don't think it would make sense as most people don't hold that the structure of society is detrimental to men.
