Samantha says she's proud of being a 'trophy wife'

Samantha Brick is now claiming that her role as a "Trophy Wife" is wonderful and fulfilling.

"know my place in the home ? in the bedroom and kitchen I?m a consummate professional" professional what? what is she trying to infer? Why are the mail encouraging this women in her quest to..........?

Why is the mail not being challenged on the fact they are printing pages of sexist horse shite which they then market as "FEMAIL" as though women need to be told to slap on the lippy and get back in the kitchen. I even detest the term Femail, why?

Sm is obviously doing this to make money, it cannot be taken seriously and I don't like the DM, but freedom of speech and all that.

Few days ago there was a thread on here from someone yearning for the days of being a kept woman - ie those rose-tinted uplands between teh wars, when hubby went out to work, and wifey stayed home, cooked and looked pretty for him , that never really existed, just in movies like Brief Envounter. Wondering if SB gets her ideas form MN....

I know - I read it like this Shock but then had to laugh - whatever floats her boat! If she can be so blind as to want to be in a relationship where she is subservient to her husband and has to come second to him in all things, then let her. It means there's one less crap man out there for some unsuspecting normal woman to go out with!

Yes, that's why anything saying different might have been interesting and the thread pricked my curiosity. Plus she was the only married Samantha that sprang to mind. Then I discovered it was tripe about some random.

Oh come on. SamCam is hardly a trophy wife - if anything, Dave is the kept one in that relationship. She is the really moneyed one.

She might be a freelancer but the mail have editorial control. Anyone of us could send in a well written piece (or in this case not so well written) about any number of things, perhaps how covering the pay gap between men and women, do you think they would publish it. No, because they are encouraging the female writers to write tripe that demeans women.

Well I doubt Samantha whatever-her-name-is is an employee - she's most likely a freelancer so The Mail have no duty of care at all.

As for their editorial responsibilities, this is The Mail. They will print what sells. You have increased their revenue by linking to the website and driving more traffic there.

As this this is the feminism topic I should probably say something about not colluding with the patriarchy but I cba.

Your concern is touching OP but I would imagine Samantha is laughing all the way to the bank. Unlike Liz Jones who at some stage started believing the travesty of herself that she has created, Samantha appears to have her ( fairly average looking) head screwed on quite well. For a trophy wife she seems to do quite a lot of self publicity and paid articles.

She's an idiot then. On the other hand... aren't trophy wives expected to keep their traps shut and just 'look pretty' until hubby goes for a younger model?

I feel the mail should have some responsibility towards it's writers in the same way that any other organisation should that employs people. Why are the exploiting this woman or at the very least allowing her to make herself look so silly.

I see it is a total non-entity bleating on. If we all ignore her she'll go away. They only print the tripe because people are reading it. The more people that read it the more they can sell their advertising for. You are allowing The Mail to manipulate you...
