Has anyone seen the ad for this "programme" on bbc 3 or rather the trailer.
As part of the trailer Russell Kane and chum mentioned that (i think it was 53%) of women are happy to let rip (fart) in front of their boyfriends. WTF.
Do we have different digestive systems fron men or something? Or are we supposed to hold it in and get stomachache just cos we have breasts instead of a penis? Because BBC3 i would love to know.

I saw the BBC 3 ad and thought it was sexist. Also dint we all produce 4 pints of wind per day... Or something like that? Anyway loads is normal.... O just think stinking is not quite right.

Plus we all fart in our sleep... Actually dp produces his own 'dawn chorus'....

I think that lots of women do hold it in don't they?

Judging by the threads on here where people won't poo anywhere except their own loo, I would imagine there are a lot of holder-inners out there.

I also agree with OP that the survey implies that there is some kind of issue with women farting (what it might be I don't know) which is a bit odd.

I try and out trump dh BlushGrin

rogersmellyonthetelly · 05/05/2012 14:00

I make up 2% all on my own I think. Even the queen farts.

'The trailer for this prog just reminded me of his attitude and it is the attitude of a lot of men. Incidentally he was "allowed" to trump whenever he liked.'

Sounds like a problem for this couple, rather than society as a (w)hole Grin. I'd love to see your research though. Seems all my friends' other halves do it quite freely....

MoChan · 03/05/2012 20:01

What Catgirl said. And my OH doesn't do it in my presence, either.

catgirl1976 · 03/05/2012 11:47

I don't fart in front of anyone. It's not a gender thing.

carernotasaint · 01/05/2012 16:18

Oh i realise its just a comedy but my friend who was pregnant at the time was suffering from a lot of wind and couldnt help releasing it. But her boyfriend was so disgusted with her he threatened to go and stay in a hotel.

I don't like people farting around me, and would extend the same courtesy.

Nothing to do with gender, just manners!

With all the sh*t aimed at women in the press, this is really small potatoes and nothing to get all inflamed about.

minipie · 01/05/2012 15:57

Since it's impossible to always hold it in, I presume the other 47% fart in front of their boyfriends but just aren't happy about it ...

grimbletart · 01/05/2012 14:04

So who are these wonder women who can always hold it in? That's fine if you can - it's the ones that get away that are the problem Grin

ButterPecanMuffin · 01/05/2012 13:25

Have you see the show? I watched the first one last week, it's just a bit of harmless fun.

It's a light entertainment show, based on a survey carried out on behalf of BBC3, which is a channel aged at youth. Therefore the questions on the survey were a bit 'cheeky' in nature.

Nothing is meant by it, no-one is saying women should hold it in, they're just stating the result of the survey.

Some women don't like to fart in front of their partners, I have a friend who won't.

This is making something out of nothing, to be quite frank.

Can't wait for tonight's episode!

Sanjeev · 01/05/2012 12:46

Isn't he a comedian? Maybe it's a joke? And my wife is one of the 53.

SmellsLikeTeenStrop · 01/05/2012 12:19

I have a friend who goes to the toilet just to fart. As for me, I'm one of the 53%.
