i thought i'd start a thread for those of us who don't normally post in here, so we can chat without derailing (any further Angry) the thread about strip clubs.

shall we stay then? Wink

I thin Equalitarism is something to do with horses.

OnlyANinja · 13/02/2012 20:16

Because "equal" could refer to all sorts of stuff, not just sex/gender?

What I want is equalness between the sexes, but apparently people who use "equalism" as a phrase tend to be weirdos who want to insist that men have it just as bad as women (and that feminism has made things worse for men), so if you use it you look like you are one of them.

I think that sexism/the patriarchy/etc is bad for women and bad for men, but not quite on the same scale.

Honeydragon · 13/02/2012 20:14

Because feminines have to be brought to a level with masculines before they can be eqalines Grin

JaneMare · 13/02/2012 20:06

Confused by 'the wrong type' of feminist

it certainly won't be me telling you that, Honey

I'm probably going to show off my ridiculous ignorance here, but I've always wondered why it's called Feminism, and not something like Equalitarism, as in my naivety (i guess) I thought that what people were striving for was equalness between the sexes?

Confused
OnlyANinja · 13/02/2012 20:06

There is no wrong type of feminist, unless it is "one who tells others that they are the wrong type of feminist".

Honeydragon · 13/02/2012 20:01

Is this yet another thread where I discover I'm entirely the wrong type of feminist?

JaneMare · 13/02/2012 19:56

oh i see, i don't normally post but read a lot Wink

OP posts:
AnyFucker · 13/02/2012 19:54

the best type of Feminism is one where all the ole myths and terms of reference that denigrate it's members are left at the door

lollygag · 13/02/2012 19:53

Well you said you don't normally post in this section. We used to HATE them but now we are OUT as Femeninists we can say what we really think - WE LOVE MEN!

JaneMare · 13/02/2012 19:50

i wasn't aware that 'old skule' feminists didn't like men Confused

OP posts:
lollygag · 13/02/2012 19:48

It could be the start of a new type of Feminism where we actually like men! We could call it Femeninism.

JaneMare · 13/02/2012 19:00
