For as long as some women peddle this we is muthas rubbish, there is a diversion there. Another stereotype to battle,as one now has to conform to being mum and bonded to all others whom are mums too

ElasticNipples · 05/02/2012 01:52

dont assume anything about me please you do not know me!

ElasticNipples · 05/02/2012 01:51

Which beliefs bond?how utterly naive
The ones people plant bombs and die for.?
The religious ones?the childcare ones?the which school one?
Some beliefs bond some, and some beliefs cause strife, tension and chaos

I didn't bond with the precious moments mamas I met at baby group etc
Nor did they bond with me

KatieMiddleton · 05/02/2012 01:50

Hello! You again! When's your deadline Lorcana? Will we be name checked or will you put a little star and some names have been changed at the end?

ElasticNipples · 05/02/2012 01:47

All i know is how i feel. im not in 'la la land' i just get through each day, take on the next challenge to becoming a better person/woman. yes i am proud to be a mum. i do think that some fail and some suceed how can we possible come to the conclusion that a sahm has failed? and a working mum has done it right? both will be making right and wrong decisions along the way. being a mum has tought me that we all try our best and keep our fingers crossed that we are not monumentally buggering it up along the way.

LineRunner · 05/02/2012 01:44

Beliefs bond.

I don't think the subject matter is inherently exclusionary otherwise you are contradicting yourself.

MaryMotherOfCheeses · 05/02/2012 01:43

I haven't read Miranda Green.

I don't believe in godess shit, I'm not sure we're godesses by virtue of having children, but I do think that feminism needs to be about accepting, not eulogising the situations women find themselves in by dint of the fact they have given birth.

MitchieInge · 05/02/2012 01:42

stop bickering and transition yourselves into my sacred tent of minge juices

and be nice

scottishmummy · 05/02/2012 01:42

If you believe being mum bonds you,to others who happen to be mums too
It's a bit sad and lame

Im not defined by being mum,nor do i have to feel an affinity for all other mums

LineRunner · 05/02/2012 01:36

If we three agreed that 'goddess shit' exists, though (which I believe it does; have you read that crap by Miranda Green for a start), wouldn't that make us bonded?

In just a small way.

scottishmummy · 05/02/2012 01:31

Feeling bonded to other women, because a mum?
Yep that's truly la la la thinking
All classes, ages, societal divisions....bonded by virtue of being a mum
That is well into mums are goddess territory

ElasticNipples · 05/02/2012 01:29

thanks for that line runner- whitty little soul arn't you!

no i dont 'get' other women i have a better undertanding and dont think that everything i say is right. my choices are mine. each to their own.

LineRunner · 05/02/2012 01:27

I think to extrapolate a learning curve into 'godess shit' is unusual.

scottishmummy · 05/02/2012 01:23

that homogenization and we is all muthas that is really risible you think you give birth and suddenly you get other women?

That whole mother=deeper understanding, goddess shit actually is another societal layer of oppression. Once a woman you're deeper, more connected. Blah blah

LineRunner · 05/02/2012 01:23

I think we all know of the idea of guilt being chucked at us by the media, policy makers and government. Looking at EN's other posts, I think she is saying this and agreeing that it should be resisted.

ElasticNipples · 05/02/2012 01:21

i am glad somone else is here for support! thanks cheesy!

ElasticNipples · 05/02/2012 01:19

the whole experience

MaryMotherOfCheeses · 05/02/2012 01:19

yy EN one of the unexpected pleasures about being a mother was having my eyes opened on how other women dealt with motherhood, and in so many diverse ways.

ElasticNipples · 05/02/2012 01:18

flaky? or just long sighted?

situations change all the time, not all sahm are there by choice you know.

Quattrocento · 05/02/2012 01:17

Bonded by guilt, though

Are you sure the bonds work both ways?

scottishmummy · 05/02/2012 01:15

You're bonded are you.to mums?
How flaky is that

ElasticNipples · 05/02/2012 01:13

well i feel bonded to women since becoming a mother & i feel i have a greater understanding of other circumstances which mums face.
im not saying everyone has to think like me.

you sound quite hostile scottishmum

LineRunner · 05/02/2012 01:08

Milton Friedman strikes again.

ElasticNipples · 05/02/2012 01:06
