Oh do clamber down off that soapbox

Pot, kettle.

And on that note I'm off to bed. Night all :)

scottishmummy · 05/02/2012 02:30

Oh do clamber down off that soapbox
Mn is public domain,visible,reproducible
And fb and twitter linked
Nothing on mn is private
So doesn't actuall matter whether op is journalist or not,you post mn it can be on fb, or twitter any ole time too

KatieMiddleton · 05/02/2012 02:27

Well you can chat to the journos if you like but starting threads for the purpose of writing articles without making it clear that is your intention is, is

  1. Disingenuous
  2. Fucking lazy reporting
  3. Against talk guidelines because it is disingenuous and fucking lazy reporting

There is a big difference between doing something openly and by stealth. Usually the motivation.

LineRunner · 05/02/2012 02:23

I know that, but who is Heidi cheese?

scottishmummy · 05/02/2012 02:21

Mn is founded by journalist,it thrives on journalists and media
The web chats, the dm collaboration, the books
All this,oh where is my pomander it's a journalist is affected rubbish

I dont see some mn folk declining media goodies like review a product or to win prizes.that's all journalism

LineRunner · 05/02/2012 02:20

Nearly a haiku.

funny that.

that would have been a co-incidence.

solidgoldbrass · 05/02/2012 02:18

There might have been an interesting discussion if the OP had asked about women who are stay-at-home wives ie childfree but not in or looking for work. And not TTC either.

KatieMiddleton · 05/02/2012 02:17

eh?

nailak · 05/02/2012 02:17

Op why do you need paid employment to validate your existence?

scottishmummy · 05/02/2012 02:16

No.You protest too much
Understood enough to not understand
Funny that...

Tortington · 05/02/2012 02:15

scottishmummy, i think you are un-necessarily harsh all the time.

LineRunner · 05/02/2012 02:14

Heid cheese? You lost me there.

Can you type that again, please.

scottishmummy · 05/02/2012 02:12

Oh stop with all the it's a journalist.oh my v gosh
So what?if it is journalist
You do recall Justine mn Heid cheese is journalist, married to journalism
And mn does deals and collaborates with journalists, media

This isn't a therapeutic community away from prying eyes of emm journalists
It's media online business
Sells books, talks to politicians, needs journlaists

KatieMiddleton · 05/02/2012 02:07

Please let Custy be name checked in lorcana's article Grin

KatieMiddleton · 05/02/2012 02:06

Yes I've read lots of threads but I honestly don't think most women really care what others are doing as long as they are able to do what they want.

Admittedly some do care, some do very much and are very vocal about it, but most of us are just too busy doing what we're doing to be bothered about other people's life choices.

Tortington · 05/02/2012 02:05

to be fair i think you can feel a bond in teh communality of a shared experience. This doesn't mean that reduces the shared experiences to being amorphous.

LineRunner · 05/02/2012 02:05

Thanks, Katie. Which was my point. The media pours a blanket of images and faux expectations onto women (and men); the policy makers sniff around; and government decides how to react.

scottishmummy · 05/02/2012 02:02

No image of division
There is division
Read any baby in nursery thread,or working ft thread.that should be illuminating

KatieMiddleton · 05/02/2012 01:59

Milton?

Am I being dim? I am arent' I Sad

KatieMiddleton · 05/02/2012 01:58

Ladies, lorcana has posted no less than 3 threads in the last 24 hours asking about women and work. All of them are contentious and provocative.

Maybe she's new and naive or maybe she has a special interest in women and work. Either way feeding the image of division is not helpful.

scottishmummy · 05/02/2012 01:58

Yes elastic is all over the shop

LineRunner · 05/02/2012 01:58

Well, it's a mess of a thread thanks to Milton so any journo's welcome to it.

LineRunner · 05/02/2012 01:56

Yup, contradicting yourself.

scottishmummy · 05/02/2012 01:56

Correct I don't know you
Nor are we bonded
It is you who falsely feels affinity or bonded just because you're a mum
