Have we a thread on this yet?

I am really shocked.

chibi that depends if you were raped generally or datily.

If datily then you don't need to be cross with yourself love.

SardineQueen · 07/10/2011 14:01

I thought BoF was trying to lighten the mood and responded as such.

Never mind.

Shopping is done anyway. Slot is just fine Grin

chibi · 07/10/2011 13:58

Sorry for being facetious

I think i am just cross with myself for failing to spot the characteristics which were definitely there yet imperceptible

LeBOF · 07/10/2011 13:56

Nobody is hounding anybody off anywhere (but you are spending quite rude and hostile if I'm honset, Rhub). I have just reopened the thread and tried to suggest some virtual deep breaths etc and to inject a friendly tone, but I feel you have thrown that back in my face by suggesting something sinister is going on- why? Over some pretend bloody tea? This is silly. I will bow out for now, I think, and next time Hully talks about gentle bloody light of kindness or whatever it is, I'll be muttering darkly about this, for sure.

chibi · 07/10/2011 13:54

Domestic abusers tend to have slightly misshapen appendixes.

Hth

EllaDee · 07/10/2011 13:54

I have never suggested everyone thinks rape is funny. I don't know why you would want to pretend I did.

You are making it very hard for me to post on here. Could you please tone it down a bit? I can only imagine what it's like for people who have actually been raped.

Funny how you can confidently state what the 'truth' is to others but get all hissy when someone states their own interpretation of the 'truth'.

TheRhubarb · 07/10/2011 13:51

How can it be victim blaming if I say that someone who is emotional about rape might take a post as a personal attack when it is not?
Oh of course, because I am saying they are stupid. So I am not only blaming them for their own rape but for getting upset at other posts too! Oh very well done.

Well if I put the truth as bluntly as that Ella I would be hounded off the board just as I am now funnily enough. You might not like it but even domestic abusers have common characteristics and you might want to think that everyone thinks rape is funny because that justifies your rage. But that is also untrue.

My opinion, just as yours is.

LeBOF · 07/10/2011 13:48

What am I missing?

EllaDee · 07/10/2011 13:47

No, rhubard, I said anecdotes are not data. I reject the rest of what you say, mainly because it sounds like more victim blaming.

Look, I do get that this is not nice for you. I get that you feel horrible because you don't want to think that our culture might be normalizing rape, and you don't like us saying your posts are contributing to that. It is not a good realization to come to. But I honestly think it's the truth, and that's why I'm saying it.

LeBOF · 07/10/2011 13:47

Rhubarb, I am trying to lighten the time and suggest some virtual deep breaths or whatever, as this is all getting very unpleasant and shouty. Do feel free to have some tea as well.

No, I'm not wrong.

Wow.

TheRhubarb · 07/10/2011 13:45

Oh I sense something going on here.
I hope I am wrong.

LeBOF · 07/10/2011 13:45

SQ Grin

TheRhubarb · 07/10/2011 13:44

And now you are all sat around having tea and enjoying the spectacle. Nice Hmm

SardineQueen · 07/10/2011 13:44

Does that last post of mine need another fnah?

SardineQueen · 07/10/2011 13:43

Oh shit I need to do the online shopping before my slot expires.

TheRhubarb · 07/10/2011 13:43

Can I point out Ella that I think it was you, yes? Who said that experiences should not be used on debates or something to that effect? Could we not also say that if you feel emotional about rape then you are more likely to take something as a personal attack or at least personally, when it was unintended to be so?

I may be clumsy in my interpretation and explanations, but I have never intended to hurt or upset as I have said time and time and time again over and over on this thread. We all have opinions and those opinions will not be the same. I have also been hurt and upset by things that have been said on this thread and I didn't get an apology for those things so I had to let them go in the end.
If you want to keep re-hashing extracts of what I said in order to justify attacks on my character, if you want to tell people of how nasty I was and not tell them about the apologies or that I was certainly not intending to cause harm or upset (but instead imply that this is exactly what I was doing) then I cannot stop you, freedom of speech and all that you see.

But you are wrong in what you think of me. That is all.

DontCallMeFrothyDragon · 07/10/2011 13:42

I'll have a cup of tea, instead, ta. Brew

DontCallMeFrothyDragon · 07/10/2011 13:41
EllaDee · 07/10/2011 13:41

Gin!

I don't drink, but I offer Wine Wine.

SardineQueen · 07/10/2011 13:41

I need something harder BoF.

SardineQueen · 07/10/2011 13:40

Absolutely right ella.

Rhubard you have apologised for upsetting me but not acknowledged that there was anything in your post likely to cause upset to victims of rapists who did not fit your lists. So it's not much of an apology really.
