Have we a thread on this yet?

I am really shocked.

Is this like that time when river song couldn't kill the doctor and then time collapsed and shit kept happening over and over simultaneously and it was the same time forever?

EllaDee · 08/10/2011 22:27

Fortunately, I did not. Re-read my posts, they are quite clear, and a fair few of them actually discuss feminism and/or women's rights. Some only discuss bottling gin with cherries.

DontCallMeFrothyDragon · 08/10/2011 22:26

What did I post out of order?

I'd rather have quotes so I know what I'm defending myself against, please?

Tortington · 08/10/2011 22:25

actually ella you did suggest that i dont have my own mind and that i cannot be impartial.

which is clearly untrue

EllaDee · 08/10/2011 22:24

Fortunately, I did not. Re-read my posts, they are quite clear, and only occasionally mis-spelt.

Tortington · 08/10/2011 22:23

well frothy short of posting an equiv experience i will come across as nothing short of devoid of feeling. if i did post my experiences if would come across as competitive - lose - lose.

you said something really rubbish actually. and im not the only person to point it out. this shoudnt detract from yours mine or anyones life story. this shouldnt come across as competitive or belittling. we are all women who should actually be suppotting each other in their experiences,. but i simply coukdnt post anything here ever ever ever.

you posted somethng out of order and thats that

giyadas · 08/10/2011 22:22

And it's not about who's mates with who. You do seem to come here to stir up a bit of drama, Custardo. I've always been disappointed that you don't identify as a feminist,(not that that's important, but I hope you know what I mean) as you show some very feminist characteristics, I've read your reasons and they make sense, and I can respect them, but I don't understand the hostility when you post here. It comes across as baiting.

EllaDee · 08/10/2011 22:19

Fortunately, I didn't suggest that. Re-read my posts, they are quite clear.

Tortington · 08/10/2011 22:16

AlysWorld · 08/10/2011 22:16

Might like to know, sure. I bring all sorts of stuff to the board that other feminists might like to know.

Tell them off and accuse them of doing nothing, use it as a stick to beat with, and not actually explaining what it is, not a technique that I go for.

DontCallMeFrothyDragon · 08/10/2011 22:15

FFS lost my message...

I never called rhubarb a rape apologist. Regardless, it is not an insult. But still. I didn't call her it.

I ever said you had no personal experience. I said rhubarb used her "educational" experience to over-ride several users personal experience.

FWIW, I only posted about my personal experience after she triggered a pretty severe course of flashbacks. So far, I'm at 3 over the course of 4 days. But no. What's more important is that she gets an apology for something I never said in the first place. Never mind the fact that, after those links, I sat here mentally reliving my rapes trying to work out if either of my rapists, or the guy who sexually assaulted me fitted those profiles. Whether it was my fault for not spotting the "rapist trait" she started describing. And you know the worst part? I doubt I'm the only person her posts had that effect on. In fact, I'd be willing to bet a lot of rape survivors reading this thread may have had the same feelings after reading her posts. But, rather than her accepting she caused a load of upset, both her and several of your friends have insisted on making this even more painful, by now accusing me of bullying her. Yet you can't find the evidence to back that up.

Thanks a bunch Thanks

JeremyVile · 08/10/2011 22:14

Custy- don't do this pal, it's doing no one any favours at all.

giyadas · 08/10/2011 22:14

Re - the self selecting bit, it;s a thread on MN, it's not on a t-shirt, or a public fb page and none of it has violating someone else as it's key motif. Those who self-identify as a twi-slut are clearly different form those that identify themselves (directly or indirectly) as a misogynist. I know who I'm more worried about.

Tortington · 08/10/2011 22:13

oh i have alysworld. i thought you might like to know as a feminist.

is that ok?

Tortington · 08/10/2011 22:12

ella - seriously are you taking issue with me reporting the use of a word...'slut' and in reporting to you that i find that word offensive you tell me not to use it?

thats just strange

EllaDee · 08/10/2011 22:12

Fortunately, I didn't suggest that. Re-read my posts, they're quite clear.

Tortington · 08/10/2011 22:11

suggesting that my opinion is invalid becuase i am rhubarbs mate is really offensive actually.

saying it would be ok for someone else...not rhubarbs mate to say that calling her a rape apologist would be taken seriously,

we are two different grown women. and this is tantermount to you saying that a woman doesnt have an opinion

do not insinuate i am not allowed my on opinions beccause i am a woman.

EllaDee · 08/10/2011 22:07

'i cant believe that its ok to use that language on here actually in any context.'

Don't fekking use it then you numpty!

AlysWorld · 08/10/2011 22:06

so why don't you go and shout at the people using the word?

EllaDee · 08/10/2011 22:05

giyadas - thanks, that makes sense!

I don't personally like the idea of going on someone else's thread and telling a group of people off - it'd be like going in S&B and trolling the threads about waxing with feminist quotations. Ie., rude.

not news, would it make a difference?>

well actually this is evident. it hasn;t made a difference

Tortington · 08/10/2011 22:04

people who wear the anti women tshirts are a self selecting lot.

i cant believe that its ok to use that language on here actually in any context.

EllaDee · 08/10/2011 22:02

custardo - yes, obviously, if someone who wasn't rhubarb's mate came on the thread, that person would probably be more impartial. Is this news?
