when you engage with the trolls

. . . is it a personal thing (actually engaging emotionally) or are you communicating with a wider, more silent audience or are there other motivations?

I can't work out why more people don't ignore them, but every now and then the exchanges are unintentionally funny or interesting - although mostly it gets very dull very quickly. Wondering what's in it for them too.

Nope, no misogynistic posts from me. I simply don't always agree with some posts made here. that doesn't mean I'm misogynistic

Banned is exactly what you want. Less members of the patriarchy to question your beliefs of course

How I interpret my post and how you interpret it is a matter of opinion

To me it was at the time, but knowing I upset a lot of people by doing so I wont do it again

You only have my word when I say i'm not a rapist. If I were to have raped i'd fully expect to go to prison

90% chance seems to much tbh, do you have an approx figure of rapists in prison?

aliceliddell · 04/09/2011 20:51

Sorry to hear of your unfortunate past

Unfortunatly I am in no position to defend myself here or requote what I said because my post will be misinterpreted and reported

All i'll say is a made a long quote that was satire about being a member of the patriarchy and can do some things and get away with

brokendreams · 04/09/2011 20:27

edd...
when i was younger i was raped/buggered and left for dead[strangulation]
this had a profound affect on my life and this led to more abuse.
years later....my dd was also raped..which led her to having mh problems.
she had a child but couldnt look after this child because of her mh problems.
so i lost my daughter and my grandchild because of this gobshite who raped her.
not a day goes by when i dont think of my grandchild and what this rapist has done to my poor daughters life.[my posting name is apt]
do you still find rape something to joke about edd?

Stripey I have had SGB robustly disagree with me too. She and I disagree about some pretty fundamental feminist stuff. I respect her though and find her posts interesting whether I agree with them or not.

edd1337 · 04/09/2011 19:31

Like I said, I did apologise earlier to anyone I offended. As you never actually read the said post you can only go by what others have written

STIWD that makes more sense. I don't understand the equivalence you have made between being emotional and making personal attacks. They are not the same thing, and one does not mean the other.
