Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

You don't have to be feminist to post here, but it helps...

I've noticed that whenever a 'non-feminist' view is brought up, there are occasionally some posts along the lines of 'this is a feminist board, why come here if you aren't...', etc.

Genuine question - is this a feminist board, or a board about feminism? Obviously the majority of posters are feminist, but I'm not sure whether that is because feminists (surprise surprise) like discussing feminism, or because it is seen as a feminist 'safe haven'?

RejectofAllah, may I just ask why you're here? Many of us, even as feminists, will counteract when we feel men are being unfairly represented. So, we really don't need someone with anti-feminist ideals trying to belittle us.

Like UMS, I also dislike the "some posters" type posts. For pretty much the same reasons.

Reject of Allah, if you don't like women and don't want to engage with them, why on earth don't you just fuck off? No one is forcing you to make a howling arse of yourself on this forum.

Yet another lovely woman representing the best of MumsNet... sorry to disappoint. I won't be going anywhere, and I don't care if you don't like what I say. Someone has to counter post against the man hating bile so many choose to spew here. You can at least trust that unlike you... I won't be making unfounded, uncalled for nasty personal comments about you.

Don't the rules say no personal attacks?
So talking about feminist posters that others might find scary was done without naming names, rather than saying dittany and Herbx and sakura?
Trying not to personalise an argument or a point?
Not being deliberately difficult, I got flamed for posting a thread that I had problems with and was told I shouldn't be doing Thread about thread stuff.
Whereas I thought I was providing original evidence for my stance.
I did apologise.
