I agree Sardine, which is why I believe the parents should be in teh dock AS WELL, not instead of.

messybedhead · 13/07/2011 14:53

Sardine I hadn't thought of that but it is an excellent question and I imagine the situation would be dealt with very differently.

stretch · 13/07/2011 14:52

Grr, I was talking about your post of 14;46

I actually am shocked- like really shocked. How can this be allowed to happen?

There are laws that are meant to be followed! Forgive my naivete but why isn't the law being applied here? What can be done about this?

I have a twelve year old neighbour who is given far too much freedom and I could imagine her and her silly friends could possibly attempt a stunt like this- they are allowed out caked in make up and dressed like women (but they just look like silly little girls and would not fool anybody that they are over age 14 at the most).

This is disgusting, it really is.

stretch · 13/07/2011 14:51

Sardine, exactly.

2 different things.

  1. The men did wrong, full stop.
  2. The children (at least 1, if not both) are too sexually aware for their age and have probably been abused.

Very sad. And your last sentence is exactly what I was going to say next.

If a 12 year old boy had had sex with 6 footballers in these circs, would teh judge be saying that he was well up for it? Or that there was something badly wrong?

I really do wonder.

HandDivedScallopsrgreat · 13/07/2011 14:51

"The court heard she was more sexually experienced than the men and it had been her idea to arrange the meeting."

Do you think that is how the defence may have wanted it perceived and it is more than likely a definite skewing of the truth?

SardineQueen · 13/07/2011 14:50

x-posts pootles I agree

SardineQueen · 13/07/2011 14:50

Why is there never any question with any of this, that if men or boys are offered sex, they have the ability to say no???

Pootles2010 · 13/07/2011 14:48

Gah! Sorry, meant to say...

The fact that the girls' sexual experience being mentioned in such as way as to imply it was them being little floozies rather than them being victims being preyed up by grown men, is deeply disturbing.

SardineQueen · 13/07/2011 14:46

How disturbing.

"The court heard she was more sexually experienced than the men and it had been her idea to arrange the meeting."

And no questions or concerns about this apparently. The judge seems to think it is quite usual for 12 year old girls to be very sexually experienced and meet groups of men for sex in parks. WTF? Where do judges get these ideas?

Fact is that if a 12 year old girl is more sexually experienced than a group of 6 late teenage boys/men, then she has been sexually abused. And any behaviour (like having sex with lots of men in parks) is a result of that ie she is a vulnerable, abused child. yet the fact that she has obviously been abused in the past, rather than making what these men did worse ie abusing a vulnerable child, means that they get away with it. because the courts see this 12 year old child as a nymphomaniac with full adult responsibility for her actions.

I mean for fucks fucks sake.

is anything being done to help these girls i wonder.

The report of what was said in court also strongly implies that the men ought to have lied, rather than confessed, and then they would have got away with it. What a responsible message for our courts to be sending. Hmm

Pootles2010 · 13/07/2011 14:46

I agree there is something very much not right in their families, which needs addressing. However, I am far more concerned that a judge is letting these men off with such a lenient sentence.

Also, the way that the girls' sexual e

stretch · 13/07/2011 14:46

The 'men' did it, not the parents or the children. Perhaps the parents were working?

Maybe a need for SS to intervene regarding neglect etc.. not relevant to the court case though, in any way.

OP posts:
Jointhedotties · 13/07/2011 14:44

And the parents allowed these allegedly sexually experienced children out , late at night, dressed much older, with strange men.

And you wonder why I want them strung up? Shock

Jointhedotties · 13/07/2011 14:42

They text the men to come over. Where were the parents?

I agree AtomicBroomstick. Something very not right in those families. Lack of care and supervision at best I'd say.

Pootles2010 · 13/07/2011 14:42

Oh ok sorry apologise am meant to be working.

TheAtomicBroomstick · 13/07/2011 14:41

What I mean is, it would just be wrong if they had. If so, how the hell could they get away with a looked older plea?

Oh, I did notice it said they dressed older, so they must have gone home to change. Don't know about you, but whenever a young girl dresses up to look "older," I just can't see how it can fool anyone.

Pootles2010 · 13/07/2011 14:41

Agree with you there Atomic re her needing help. Find it disgusting that it was thought to be relevant to court case though.

Jointhedotties · 13/07/2011 14:41

The article you linked to says, " late night sex orgy" .

They were allegedly sexually experienced. I don't know what type of families they come from but not the type my twelve year old and her friends come from. We don't allow our little girls to be picked up late at night by grown men, oddly enough.

Not all families are equal, not all are decent .

TheAtomicBroomstick · 13/07/2011 14:40

I don't think it said picked up from school. That's just wrong.

TheAtomicBroomstick · 13/07/2011 14:39

Did anyone notice, "The court heard she was more sexually experienced than the men"

I can think of only 1 way that a 12 year old girld would be more experienced than a group of 20 years olds. Perhaps they should investigate why this girl was doing this. It's not normal behaviour for a young girl. (That's not apolagetic, as you can from my comments above. Send them down, no excuses.) Just saying she needs some sort of help, she's obviously undergone some abuse previously.

stretch · 13/07/2011 14:37

Shock erm...I don't know, what type of families do you think they come from?

OP posts:
Pootles2010 · 13/07/2011 14:37

It wasn't late at night was it? Thought it said picked up from school. Quite normal for a 12 yr old to go to park after school?

May have read it wrongly, apologise if so.

Jointhedotties · 13/07/2011 14:36

For allowing twelve year old children out late at night, alone, unsupervised and open tp abuse, that's why.
And the very fact that little girls like this allegedly invited sex is of serious concern, God knows what type of " family" they come from.

stretch · 13/07/2011 14:33

Sorry, why Jointhedotties?
