I know, lets have both.

It is the wanker's wank sock.

wrongdecade · 30/06/2011 11:52

You said girls could figure out on their own what is right and wrong. And that implying that they couldn't (which, surely, would necessitate giving them guidance? Otherwise the guidance would be superfluous) would undermine them.

I didn't twist that.

saying that girls can have personal taste does not mean they do not need guidance you just twisted pretty much everything I said. does a girl who likes pink automatically lacks guidance?

PippiLongBottom · 30/06/2011 10:17

I think wank or wanker would be appropriate in this instance.

Excellent work PippiLongBottom.

Or should that be wanker's socks?

BettySwollocksandaCrustyRack · 30/06/2011 09:44

Wimpybar - I have a pole in my house (and actually yes for fitness reasons) and I dont have that wallpaper!!! Don't tar us all with the same brush!

PippiLongBottom · 30/06/2011 09:36

After extensive googling for a matching wank sock, it appears that this is the cloest available.

Do ya reckon they sell a matching wank sock in the same pattern to go with it?

Touchy wrongdecade. Children need guidance, that's not controversial.

where did I say they didn't????

I object to my words being twisted thats not controversial either,

wimpybar · 29/06/2011 16:17

lots of grown women have poles in their houses don't they (i see it on telly) Grin

so that wallpaper probably goes with it

wrongdecade · 29/06/2011 16:14

'crack pipe logic'?

nice

its about as nice to see as that people arent bothered by an attacking, twisting post but my retaliation Hmm

SinicalSal · 29/06/2011 14:41

'crack pipe logic'?

nice

GrimmaTheNome · 29/06/2011 14:14

I can't imagine anyone would inflict it on their kids, TBH. Nor can I imagine any girl of my aquaintance seeing it and not going 'ew, gross' - whether on moral or aesthetic grounds.

mrjellykeepskidsquiet · 29/06/2011 13:01

Lord that is vile!why,oh why would you do that to your kids

wrongdecade · 29/06/2011 12:13

So, wrongdecade, should we all just stop parenting our DDs, then? At what age do you think we should cease teaching them about morals and ethics and socially acceptable behaviour and honesty and integrity and determination?

I'd hate to undermine mine, that's all.

I didnt realise saying young girls have can morally view things themselves and arent totally submissive to all marketing and think its just girly rubbish, translated into don't teach your daughters any morals, you either read it wrong or are being deliberately obtuse, do you often reply to points you dont agree with complete crack pipe logic?

openerofjars · 29/06/2011 12:07

It's not just that it's offensive and demeaning. It's also revolting, aesthetically. It'd be like having James Bond opening credits all over the wall. Blurgh. I can just about imagine a teenage boy with silly parents (or really tragic 20 something male who thinks he's a bit of a player) having the black/silver combo but the pink/silver is kind of unimaginable.

Maybe it's meant for commercial use e.g. sex shops? In any case, not something you'd provide for a daughter's bedroom. Gross.

MoChan · 29/06/2011 11:55

That's a MUCH BETTER response than mine.

MoChan · 29/06/2011 11:44

Sorry, but young girls can be brainwashed by stuff. Some girls probably aren't, because they have the right guidance, or are very sure of what they want. But not everyone is strong-minded enough to resist this stuff. I am not sure I would have resisted it very well, had that stuff been as aggressively marketed to me when I was a child as it is to little girls these days.

In any case, I wasn't actually being awfully serious when I wrote it. I was agreeing with Grimma's jocular comment about slopes/poles. But now you've pulled me up on it, it has become a serious point for me. I think the preponderance of pink does have an effect on how girls view themselves, on their self-esteem, etc, and it's more sinister than people are prepared to admit.

wrongdecade · 29/06/2011 11:29

Agree that pink leads to pole dancing. Via Playboy bunny products.

I think comments like that undermine young girls ability to figure it out themselves, what is right wrong etc.

wrongdecade · 29/06/2011 11:27

i don't actually think its that bad like you said its not aimed at kids

BettySwollocksandaCrustyRack · 29/06/2011 11:10

MrsChemist - I have my own pole too and even I think it's vile! Not for feminist reasons, but because it is just horrid!

PippiLongBottom · 29/06/2011 11:01

Niiiiice. I bet it's just for keeping fit, right?
