Sakura, you are mental - there were 177 bodies found, plus perhaps 72 previously. you are out by nearly half a million you fool - no wonder people see feminists with jaundiced eyes you are talking the difference between a street of dead people and a small city. Not all were women - in fact I think from reading several reports less than a third were. Stop making stuff up

Missingfriendsandsad · 02/05/2011 17:07

Are you talking about the drug cartel graves? where 'dozens' have been found? - 72 bodies, 58 men 14 women? Is that the half a million you are talking about?

Two black men a week aren't murdered in the uK are they? confused

I wouldnt be surprised if that is the case especially in places like peckham, harrow, hackney, machester, glasgow etc more places.

thefinerthingsinlife · 02/05/2011 14:34

Thanks for the link Sakura although a rather depressing read.

call bullshit on that statistic. DId the statistics include violence against women, or was it just a comparison between white and black men?

well I heard it on TV so If im wrong im wrong.

InmaculadaConcepcion · 02/05/2011 14:31

Shoving a penis into someone's orifice against their will is violence, missing. Whether it's done while the victim is subdued by physical force or by drink or drugs.

If you then consider that around 89% of rapes go unreported, (not to mention a massive number of assaults committed by husbands and partners), you may reconsider your assertion that most men are more likely to be victims of violence than women.

sakura · 02/05/2011 14:30

Two black men a week aren't murdered in the uK are they? Confused

whereas two women a week actually are

sakura · 02/05/2011 14:29

"in her defence statistically black men are more at risk of violence that any other s. group in the world, but funnily enough they are the biggest perpatrators."

I call bullshit on that statistic. DId the statistics include violence against women, or was it just a comparison between white and black men?

And it's not "funnily enough" that black men are the perpetrators of murder, not when they are disenfranchised, ghettoized and treated as criminals by society from the age of 0. The problem is, they take it out on women instead of the racist system that perpetuates their disenfranchisement.

I haven't heard of a mass graves of black men being discovered recently. THe genocide in Rwanda was men and women murdered equally.

SueSylvesterforPM · 02/05/2011 14:28

Sakura is this Juarez'

???

femicides happen all the time its awful, the new major had to fire like half of the police force as they we alongside the cartels.

sakura · 02/05/2011 14:26

www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/world/la-fg-mexico-mass-graves-20110425,0,3171055.story

the police were complicit with the mass murders. They even lied to the mothers of the girls; in one case a mother was told her 16 year old daughter had been seen out partying. At the time the policeman said that her daughter had already been murdered.

SueSylvesterforPM · 02/05/2011 14:24

I think its astounding that people still believe that women are more at risk of violence than men.

in her defence statistically black men are more at risk of violence that any other s. group in the world, but funnily enough they are the biggest perpatrators.

However women are brought to expect violence and equality nowhere near exists, men aren't instilled to accept abusive treatement then get blamed when something bad happens thats the difference missingfriend men ususally know who their enemies are women are usually hurt by people who are supposed to love them.

I'm not Intercourse, is it against intercourse?? what is it about??

thefinerthingsinlife · 02/05/2011 14:23

Further to the points made; the violence against men that you speak of missing is also commited by men. So whether we are looking at violence against women or men the perpetrator is a man, (obviously not in all cases but the vast majority).

Sakura could you possibly post a link about the Mexico mass graves.

OP posts:
sakura · 02/05/2011 14:22

although I agree with you missing, that women shouldn't be frightened to walk the streets.

Men are more likely than women to be attacked on the street. By men, of course.

Men beat up and kill women at home. Two women murdered a week by her spouse in the UK alone.

The moral of these facts are: men should stay at home at night and not wander the streets

women should not live with men

sakura · 02/05/2011 14:20

what the what? making the what up?

Mass. graves. of. women. in. Mexico.

tortured. and. murdered. by. men.

I haven't left out those stats - at least not when I did a study about five years ago - you are making that up in order to attack an argument I havn't made. An aunt sally I think its called?

Men are much more likely to be victims of violence than women - I think its abhorrent that women still spread the control message that women should stay frightened and cajouled when there is no need to be.

Missingfriend, I take it you missed the recent news of the mass graves found in Mexico. Half a Million women tortured and murdered.

By men.

For fun.

I'm not surprised you missed it.

NObody is reporting it.

because women's lives don't matter.

You can bet if half a million men were found dead, killed by men, we'd be hearing about it.
You can bet if half a million men were found dead, killed by women, there'd be a witch-hunt (or at least the police might bother to find out who the perpetrators were)
