Apparently.

I am a little saddened that a forum mostly used by women, has decided that the feminist boards are the most frightening of the forum.

Why do we feel that is? What can be done to prevent people from feeling so intimidated that they are too scared t post?

Really - do Mens Health people spend their time going on about how much they hate women?

I thought it was all 'how to get a six pack while still drinking six packs.'

I am not hopeful of mens health blog

Bound to be far more mysogynists (who call themselves masculinists) on it than othr feminist sites.

It's a good effort but I wonder how they'll deal with the woman haters. They will be there on every single thread, which will make it really dispiriting and dumbed down.

Having said that, maybe it will show reasonable men, just how intense the hatred of women is among some men and how much projection goes on when they call women man-haters.

'What dungarees are good on an hourglass figure?'

'What's better, Crocs or Docs?'

'Anyone else shaved their head?'

'When you cut your own hair with the clippers, what number do you put it on?'

The solution is to close this board down and for everyone to decamp into style and beauty. Nobody will be afraid to post them and it can be feminism by stelth and hopefully some of us will find some natty dungarees

What I particularly like is that I can discuss current issues with other women who share my broad outlook. I'm a member of another board which is unisex (and male dominated) and although it's political, gender politic discussions there are really difficult. So now I don't have to engage there, I can have those discussions here instead :)

when the topic was first mooted there were worries about whether it would ghettoise feminism and mean there would end up being less of it elsewhere on MN, but it doesn't seem to have happened that way; if anything there seem to be more threads elsewhere about what might be called feminist subjects.

AliceWorld · 28/02/2011 22:25

Personally I would feel less able to go and be feminist elsewhere, if I didn't know that I had the support back here and it wasn't going to just be me against a tide. As someone said, we can radiate from here.
